Dam bro I really hope Rough country see’s this video and reaches out to you and gives you a sponsorship for both of the trucks! I also have A full rough country lift kit on my 2013 Silverado Ltd with a 4 inch lift with the upper control arms and I’ve had it for about 40,000 miles I haven’t had one issue with it!
Appreciate it!
How is the ride quality? I want to go with that lift and am wondering about it? At $1000 it is no longer cheap but I know others are more
Never had a problem with my rough country 6” lift with 32” tires great lift kit by all means 🤙
@@skylineexoticmicrobulliez1552 yes sir, because it was made in America 🇺🇸
@@EHustleEntertainment I have the 3.5 in. in my 3/4 ton sierra, only problem is the base shock absorbers don't do much, I'm going to upgrade those and I bet its perfect
Best video in a while and so informative, thank you. You answered every question I had regarding the same Rough county lift. 🙂
People say what they want about rough country but I’ve got nothing but good things to say about my 6.5”, it rides just as good as my buddies cognito lift. Smooth and quiet. Love it.
Man that's awesome. Almost 7 to 9 years ago I worked at a used car dealership and half the pickups we got from auction we installed the RC 6" lifts and 35s (didn't have binding issues like you had because it was a full lift) Honestly even back then the quality was super. Even the 4" on my XJ from RC is amazing.
I just bought the 2020 Lt Trailboss on thursday, you helped a lot with your videos covering your own purchasing of one, its an amazing truck and I love what you're doing with it, and its great to see you doing things to it that I want to as well! Love the videos and can't wait to see what else you've got in store for the whole fleet!
Mahalo!
You answered so many questions I've had about my truck in this one video, thank you!
Great vid, was on the fence about an RC 3.5 for my 19 ram until I watched this, made me feel much better about it.
“Wasn’t free shipping for me because I lived in Hawaii at the time.”
Me, an Alaskan: I felt that.
I’m in Canada shit says free shipping over $20, I mean technically false advertisement I think
Can't wait to see what's in store for your truck!!🤙🤙🤙
Rough country makes a solid product. I have the 7.5 in lift on my 08 silverado 1500. Been running that for about 6 years and it's been damn good. I load in that truck all year with wood, rock, dirt, you name it. It's a bad ass lift for the common country boy.
I went with the 2.5 first was never fully satisfied bc it wasn't truly leveled but the ride quality was always great ran it for 3 years no problem. I recently bought the RC upper control arms and replaced the struts with new ones also upgraded the rear shocks with the RC 3.0 shocks. Since I have pulled out the 2.5 spacer and got a 3 inch motofab spacer and now I'm truly leveled Im super happy that extra .5 makes a difference. RC is a great company never had a problem
Thanks for sharing!
I've had my RC 3.5" for about 14 months and it's still as good as the day I installed it. I'm about to buy their 7" kit soon.
BDS is 10x better
@@SDRacing88 yes, it also costs 10x more, and I'm not going off dunes or sending it, so I don't need to spend that much money on one. I was going to get the Zone, but I would need new tires and wheels and other components, so I decided against it.
Love the channel and the truck! cant wait to see whats in store for it! I have a 2010 with some 20x10 with 285/60 falken wild peak looking to upgrade to a zone 3.5 adventure series. glad to see you have lots of room I had to do a norcal to mine and its super tight with only a 2" front level
Finally an honest review on a Rough Country lift kit! So many people just jump to bashing the heck out of them when really there not bad at all. And it’s not like Rough Country claims to make the best lift kits, like what you get is exactly as advertised! and that is an affordable but perfectly functional lift kit. Nothing more, nothing less, and that’s perfectly fine.
I asked on the forums about which lift kit to go with for my 2WD 4th gen Ram and people are straight dogging the RC lift. They have me believing that I shouldn’t go with the RC lift but spend the extra money on a Maxtrac lift with Fox shocks. I’m really not gonna be doing any off-roading, so I could care less which one is better for that purpose. I just want a taller truck.
I had a 4" lift kit years ago on my old 1984 Dodge 250 and used to jump it! Lol. Never an issue. Now I have the 6" on my 2017 Chevy Silverado and not an issue!
Wifey's trail boss but headers on the 07 Silverado will balance that out
My dad and I installed the same Rough Country kit on my 2012 crew cab Silverado. I called around to have it installed but shops here in San Diego wanted $600-$800 to install it 😱. So I called my dad who is 6 hours away in AZ and he said come on over 😁.
Drove 6 hours to AZ, took us 4 and a half hours to install the kit, we had a great time installing it and it's been one year with no major issues. The only thing I have noticed is it makes a creaking noise on the passenger side.
I'm still running stock rims and tires because I'm poor and my tires still have some life in them but one day I'll run a setup similar to yours with 33's.
Your video reminded me that I need to buy those 3" rear blocks because we didnt want to stack the blocks, so I have that Cali squat :/ I'll definitely be ordering those upper control arms from Rough Country as well.
Love the channel brother and cant wait to see what's next! 🙏✌❤🇺🇲💪
If I were u I’d get the 33s and maybe keep the stock wheels
Aftermarket wheels are kinda overrated imo first ones I had from pro comp were chrome and they Milled all around the center inbetween the spokes looked ugly
Second ones I had are better and black but they aren’t the easiest to balance
If I could do it again I’d save the $800-$1,000 and. Keep stock wheels and just get new tires
@@Man_in_a_Gucci_Suit thank you for the suggestion! I was thinking about doing that but I was worries about rubbing if I got a 33x12 or 12.5 because there is no negative offset on the stock rims? I dont even know if that would be an issue? I was also looking at 2" spacers with the stock wheels but I've heard mix reviews on spacers.
tbh i would not do wheel spacers either they have to be retorqued and they can make the wheel fly off if u ever hit a pot hole at 90 mph which can kill someone its not super likely but not unlikely either interesting thing about my 4.5' zone kit is it pushed the front track width out 1 inch and a half and honestly its annoying i can swing around a drive through without doing multiple point turns i would just run without wheel spacers tbh and ur tires are gonna be wider then ur stock tires btw
@@Man_in_a_Gucci_Suit yeah I'm definitely more function and safe over looks, so I'll pass on the spacers. Do you think I'll having any rubbing issues with inner suspension components with 33x12" tires on a stock wheel?
@@kennygp2004 i dont think so but get a second opinion i have 33" nittos on my 4.5"zone kit no rubbing but my front track width like i said is 1 inch and half more with lift kit youll probably have to cut into the wheel well liner probably not the metal tho
Just stumbled on your channel after lifting my Silverado, great content! Unfortunately I absolutely hated living in Hawaii, Oahu was just not for me lol but your channel still seems worth it so I’ll stick around!
The 3.5” kits really aren’t bad anymore! I have an 18 Sierra with the 3.5” kit. Comes with upgraded knuckles, and a diff drop! Not bad!
If your angles aren't the same as a factory truck, you're kidding yourself on the quality. If they ain't FLAT then send it back.
@@tomk5047 well my angles are pretty dam good lol and I haven’t had one single issue with the new 3.5” kit.

@@wisdumb4891 bOoMeR enjoy your crayons kid.
I had the 6 inch lift on 35s and it was really smooth ,good stuff.
Wow three years already! I remember watching when you were trying to get to 3K subscribers so you could buy power tools! Keep up with the amazing channel and content! Wishing you and the BowTies much continued success!
Thanks for sticking around all these years!
@@LonestarHawaiian your track has 5.3L or 4.8L???
I had a 2007 Silverado as an assigned work vehicle and I loved it. So much so that I replaced my personally owned 2008 Tahoe with a 2020 GMC AT-4 Sierra. Now, Everything is right in the world. Thanks LH!
Slave to the lender
True cool transmission cooler. Best thing I ever did for my truck. Not very expensive and pretty easy to install. The 07 sounds so much better I run a borla pro xs single in dual out on my 08 and my wife's 15. That's also kind of the same kit I run on both. I've had it on my 08 for about 3 or 4 years but mine came with the bigger blocks and lower strut spacers. And I have really used my truck alot! And never had a issue.
I just ordered one today for my 2016 Silverado. Hope it holds up and drive good. Love your videos man
How’s it holding up?
@@Alex-ou4tn doing good no issues. Love it so far🤞
I want a 07 Silverado lift kit, exhaust, custom interior it would look so good thanks for the motivation 🤘👍
I had a 09 silverado 1500 and I put the rc 3.5" kit with the upper tubular control arms and have had no problems. I even hauled 1500lbs of cement bags in the bed and a trailer with another 1500lbs of cement bags no issues
07 sounds better. Love that deep tone
This the EXACT same look I want..THANKS!! GREAT VIDEO answered ALL my questions..Tires, overall ride, with & with out a load & Longevity
This actually reminded me that I need to make a long term video of my own suspension. I did one of the ICON coilover kits, but I did run into a couple issues over time. Sometimes I wish I had just gone with a more basic 4 inch lift.
What issues have you had work the Icons?
If you decide to not go big on another lift, get the rough country strut assembly! Love mine.
Is that the 2in level strut RC sells?
I just purchased and received the 3.5" rough country lift for my 07 Avalanche. It was quite a bit more expensive than your kit and didn't come with rear shocks. I also just purchased and received some 33.5"x12.5" federal xplora tires on some Hard Rock Offroad Crushers 20"x10" with a -19 offset.
Overall though you have a beautiful truck brother. Way to make a fellow Texan proud
Love your standing desk!
Brother I like you, you’re clever about the lift kit and it’s assessment. Bravo!
Keep up the good content!
Mahalo!
Brotha! Great vid!! Not only where you very detailed but you definitely hit all the spots! Keep it up 🤙🏾
Thanks for this. Great explanations!
Great video man, love your channel. Stay Lonestar, stay Bowtie.
Been About a Half a Year Since I’ve Had My 6 inch Lift Kit And Been Great So Far💯💯💯 Only Thing I Plan On Replacing Is The Shocks With FOX 🦊 Shocks...
Had a 6” RC lift on my 2011 F150, best upgrade I made was Fox 2.0s to the rear.... complete night and day difference
Daniel Reardon how long did u drive it before you replaced them?🤔
Jimmy Guerrero about 5K miles. The RC shocks were trash. Fox had a good deal on a set and I jumped on it. Installation was quick and it made the whole truck ride better. I also went with the full 6” lifted strut in the front as well. I had the 6” spacer originally.
Love the content bro!
You showed my place of work.
Hey bro, nice truck! - I've been following your build for a while and it inspired me with my 2011 2WD before I even got it. Now I got a 3 inch spindle lift on 24s and 35s. Had to do some trimming in order to turn and the tires still rub a little sometimes. Thinking of doing the Carolina Squat. Mine already sits 2" higher in the front. I have the drop shackles sitting on the dining room table...
ad a leveling kit, squat looks like sagging pants. although it does add humor to daily life. just know they're not laughing "with" you, lol
Love the channel just subscribed 😎👌
Mahalo!
I've got about 70,000 plus miles and I have about the same rough country setup on my Silverado. The only difference is that I changed out my front strut to the bigger style rough country sells. I can say that it has softened the ride x10 and eliminated the need for the front strut spacer.
Yeah I started out sane way as u on my 2006 F-150, then I added the struts when they came out and eliminated the spacers. Back when I did ii though, they didn't come with the coil spring,so I had to reuse the stock ones. I had to buy a spring compressor and I tell u what, using that thing really made me nervous. Wanted to get that done as quickly as possible. Been happy with it, but might upgrade to Bilstein, Fox or icon, when time comes to replace them
solid video, very informative. thx
My 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500 has a rough country 2.5 leveling lift kit and 18x9 fuel Mavericks and 33” ridge grapplers
Thanks for the review! Just like you I'm on a budget and just want to lift the truck. I don't do crazy off-road things and have been looking and came across Rough Country. Now watching you I feel that Rough Country will be just fine for me. Thanks again I appreciate you're experience.
very informative!!! Thanks
I put the 3.5 lift with UCA on my 2011 about 5 years ago, need to do upper ball joints every 2 years or so but other than that I've been happy with it. The add-a-leaf I put in the rear affected ride quality far more than the lift did.
What is the number part of ball joint ?
Been watching a bunch of your vids and really enjoying them! I have a 09 Silverado that hasn’t gotten love since I bought it over 7 years ago! Times are changing and I just got some new 33 off-road tires and new wheels! Ready for a 3.5 inch lift next! Cold air intake, new exhaust ouch my wallet hurts! #ChevyLife
Get the 3.5 rc lift with the new upper control arms
You know what would help with the rear end squatting when loaded, is a pair of helper springs, but other than that it was a nice video and I enjoyed it.
BDS lift kits for chevys are very reliable, have an 8” lift on my 17 with 40k miles and no issues
I think you should go 3 inch icon kit. Build a raptor fighter! Hahaha
I just got a 3.5 rc for my 08 avalanche Ltz 2wd actually rides smoother so far lol idk why
I had the rc3.5 on my 09 silverado 2wd way back in 2012 it looked amazing on 33 but drove like BS they didn't offer the UCA back then balljoints were destroyed in a couple months. I removed the hole kit and spent a lot of money new lift is fox 2.5 coilovers max track 3in spindle camburg UCA for rear i got Deaver 4in leaf springs fox 2.0 shock no lift blocks to go with rides like a Cadillac mid travel setup it's turning in to a prerunner build now
I have the 3.5 but my kit was 1300cdn and I got front struts and shocks and upgraded upper control arms in front with back. Locks and shocks
I think the og truck is the best can't wait to see what you going to do you should paint the grey on the inside of your truck I paint my black I think you should paint yours blue especially where the clusters are at it's very simple to disassemble
The rolling desk made me subscribe
This garage really needs some wall art (murals)... holla!
got it , great video
I just bought the 3.5 lifted struts , forged upper control arms , tie rod sleeve, and the no3 rear shocks for my 2013 Silverado
I didn’t get anything for the rear because I want a bit to of squat
Did you need to cut the bump stop off with the lifted struts?
Roll bars look dope on extended cab pickups
I have had a 3.5” RC lift kit on a 2008 1500 Silverado 2dr short box on stock tires. I ate about 10 sets of cv axles and about 8 sets of ball joints both upper and lowers and I do not off road (Michigan grade A roads - NOT) my trucks. I’ve tried the RC struts and several off brands and found Monroe gasmatic stock replacement are the best vs any loaded strut. However I found several issues with the lift being the axle drop mounts were not enough and the company that installed it broke off the bolts in the dog bone mount on the driver side of the truck for the axle and I had zero help from RC when the ball joints kept blowing out at the 5K mile range, I was rebuilding the front end every 4-6 months. However I also learned that aftermarket CV axles for GM trucks are 1-2” shorter than AcDelco factory equipped shafts. That being said that’s one reason I kept popping the new shafts. But I’ve seen other RC lift kits and was not impressed cheap quality and poor angle placement. Other than that if you want affordable RC is the company to buy from.
Bro that Ronaldinho goal commentary 🔥🔥🔥
I see that your Silverado vids do way better than the charger videos 🤷♂️
auwe brah - Aloha mahalo nui loa - I just bought the RC 3.5 bolt on for my 2019 tundra platinum. Live on the Oregon coast
Shootz!
@19:00 he says wub and not rub 😂😂 good video! Thanks!
Hey LSH , fan of your videos . Was just wondering if you could tell me where you got the new headlight esembly from . I appreciate it, keep up the great content 👌
I have 7.5 inch vertex lift best thing I done glad I spent the extra money for it drives as smooth as stock if you have the extra money to do it is worth it over the strut spacer lift
So you're probably going to go with the bigger lift since you pointed out the vertex coil overs but with those you have to run with a 6-inch Lift I have them on my truck they ride. Great performance is wonderful
So much area in the back yard. That’s what I want when I purchase my home
The 07 sounds good its a mean growl
i live in tn and i ordered mine this morning
Rough country isn't bad. My 2015 gmc sierra z71 has a 7in rc knuckle kit and haven't had issues with them. Its a good budget lift when you trying to spend more on nice wheels and tires but im currently 10 weeks in now waiting on my 8in bds lift kit with the resis but corona has sadly delayed it this long which idk when itll get delivered to the shop...
Great video when u update ur shocks will u go wit rc 3.5 front strut assembly??
I once put 50 8 blocks in the back of my 06 Titan and it has the stock rancho shocks it came with and that thing was squatting all the way to the ground 😳😂
I got tons of negative comments on my video when I put the RC lift on my 2020 Tacoma. Sure, you can buy a 10k lift, but why would you for casual use??
That's why I went with bilstein
I have the same lift for my 09 Sierra and I fit 20x12’s -57 with 33x12.50 no rubbing at all
You should look at a tru-cool trans cooler I put one on my z71 helped A LOT
I've thought about it... need to just pull the trigger
LONESTAR HAWAIIAN tru cool 40k trans cooler is a must !! Best $130 you’ll spend !! my 09 Silverado trans stays 130-150 ... hottest it ever got to was 175 in Vegas heat and that’s with 4.56gears and 35in tires
Imagine living somewhere with no snow or rust... that 07 is cleannnnn. My 14, not so much lol
I have a 4.5” Zone lift kit on mine
Rides like stock I’ve put 15,000 miles on it since the lift no issues at all
I would suggest either 4.5” Zone or Procomp 4” lift
Just came across this video and gaahdammit was it a great!!
what do you think about the RC 3.5" suspension knuckle kit? Looks like they don't offer the UCA's for the 16-18 anymore...
nice garage truck looks good
I work in a shop ruff country is well thought out but they cause extra stress on parts as do all lifts
The 3.5 inch lift kit now doesn't stack the rear blocks and comes with a diff drop that helps out the tie rod angles.
Lonestar Hawaiian, are those LED strips or tubes? Looks cleaned and neat. Thanks.
So question for you I just ordered motofab F3 R2 leveling kit then I bought RC UCA’s with the N3’s rear shocks I was wondering how the upper control arms are holding up and your truck rub with your stock rims because it looks like you also had the stock rims in the video?
Rough Country has a kit that comes with spacers to drop down the front diff now and better blocks for the rear also that is 550. They also have one that’s a little under 900 that comes with lift struts instead of strut spacers.
Go to harbor freight and get that cargo unloader for trucks. Save you a lot of shoveling next time that comes.
Golazooooo 🤣🤣 nice one
“WoO tHatS HeAvy”
I like the sound of the 07 Silverado, but I think suspension wise your next move is 7.5 RC lift, you gave us a preview by showing us new coil over kit and talking about it briefly
What do u get mpg wise on your truck?
Like 10 mpg?
Xtermin8r187 yea until I programmed it with bully dog chip so now like 15-17
@@sedwade computer might say that but i highl doubt thats what u actually get
Corvette in that spot.
Hello, did you have to cut your front bump stops off in order to have clearance for the control arms?
My wife got me the RC 3.5 inch lift kit with the upper control arms. But I haven’t installed it because I don’t know how to take out the differential haha
those zerk fittings... those are for more grease. To help the parts last longer, so that would def help
Any drive shaft issues? Vibrations? Stress level on drive shaft with the 3.5 lift
Your wifes truck sounds like a beast! Great review im thinking of putting a 3in lift kit from rough county or ready lift what you think? I have a 2018 Toyota Tundra
wait your truck is 2wd? been watching for 2 years and though it was 4 lol
Ballin' on a budget... (couldn't afford a 4wd at the time) Hence the rational for a Trail Boss lol
@@LonestarHawaiian no hate at all im in the same boat i wanted a 4wd but had to settle for a 2
