Rooms is just such a crazy strong mechanic for limited. For most rooms, either side would be very close to a reasonable card all alone, which makes so many rooms just a 2 for 1 the moment you draw it. Plus there’s a bunch of busted synergy on top. Very happy to see a slow mechanic be strong in limited once in a while
For me, it's always cut. The problem partly is that the good rooms are also high picks for all other archetypes. And the rare room never wheels on Arena because people want the gems.
People have been shitting all over the Keybearer in their evaluations left and right, and I understand their reasoning. But all the same, a flyer that connects and unlocks 4 to 6 mana of enchantment value while bricking all the 2/2's in the format seems insane to me.
Yeah. Had 3 of it in my deck once. It wasn't exactly bad, as the opponents didn't have enchantment removal. However, I think I would have taken some cheap removal over it almost every time. Much more versatile and doesn't leave you open to be blown out like the Duskmourn's Domination does. It's just hard to be excited about getting a 0/3 or whatever on your side of the board.
The fact that it gives -3 AND removes abilities is cray. Makes it so there are like no targets that actually give you something of value so it’s just a fragile 6 mana removal spell.
@@wpease7 Well, not _no_ targets. The 6/6 demon token in that one game would have been a 3/6, and that's relevant. But he chose to bounce it instead. I was a little surprised by that, but I guess it was safer?
Wow. Can't believe I found competitive magic content that isn't paper(unwatchable) or edited online matches(disingenuous deck win rates) thank you so so so so much big dog 🙏
1.08.24 thought "wow, man-cestral was sick". Follow-up thought "wait, no, that was an Opportunity". Double Ophidian is a cool card to have exist, and *such* a beating when it works.
Rooms is so underdrafted I find myself drifting towards it every draft. My past two drafts have been Grixis rooms decks mainly splashing red for Smoky Lounge, it’s just so good and people aren’t taking it as highly as they should.
The deck is super sweet and I cant get enough of rooms pile, but part of me is wondering about a possible rw deck with like four or five midnight mayhem.
Huh. I think I wouldn't have been able to resist using the Duskmourn's Domination on the opponents 6/6 flying demon token at 44:25 . It's so rare that Domination gives you anything other than a chump blocker, as the -3/0 really messes things up. Getting a 3/6 is actually relevant. If they remove the enchantment, you could always bounce the token afterwards. Would that have been a bad play?
It would take a lot to convince me that any color combination is better than UW in Duskmourn at this point. I had a rough start in this format, but then ended up in UW 5 times in a row and got to 7 wins each time. Its somehow an aggressive deck that can also be grindy.
39:20 I'm curious as to why bouncing that manifest allows you to see what it is in his hand? I would totally think if I did this play over the board that I'd have to ask to see the card I bounced and would almost assuredly be denied.
I have the feeling "Smokey Lounge" and the Rooms draft archetype is a bit overpowered. :/ It's pretty hard to interact with the opponents' Rooms, and every Room card is essentially 2 cards, and those Spirits get big, ....
@@vesmolol9185 I think it's only good If you get a lot of the important cards for it. On top of it, I think this is quite a difficult format, where some decks can have really high ceilings, but also really low floors, depending on who pilots them
If you get like 2 + smokey lounges _and_ have have them in your opening hand, it can be strong. I have not been impressed with room decks I have faced where that isn't the case, however. It often feels like they just sit around doing nothing. You may call rooms 2 cards, but they are usually two weak cards/one ok and one useless card that come with a high mana cost. A 5 mana enchantment that pings for 1 every turn isn't exactly terrifying. Every deck can be good if they get all the good cards and flow well.

Double Midnight Mayhem wheeling is crazy! Fun deck. It always seems like rooms are open
The smokey lounge is always open

BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM ! I want you to draft rooms !
lmao
Unbelievable how LSV is dominating this draft. I've been watching Haumph and Nummy getting demolished in this format.
Subbed! Thanks for all the great content LSV.

6:23 pick 6 gremlin tamer, what is even happening at that table
Love this draft format ! Every color is fun to play.
Duskmourns domination feels so weak. It plays almost like the 1 mana blue enchantment removal, except it costs 6 mana

It gets stronger the bigger your target, but yeah, generally worse than Unable to Scream

@@wpease7 it's decent on the land cyclers, or anything that gets reanimated
49:54 If they have a kill spell, you can crew the Hovership and use that to block instead.
I had no idea about the anagram. Very cool.

looks like your opponents didnt stand a GHOST of a chance!
I dont know how often i heard this pun in YGOTAS 😂
Lol
"That was it! I broke their spirit."
-LSV to many, many opponents over the years
Could have had Forth Eorlingas at home 😂 (Gremlin Tamer + Midnight Mayhem)
This vid was worth it just for the Hovership sound effect. lol

I’ll take things that’ll probably never happen for $1000
@@jtaylor1219Never say never. I had a bloomburrow draft with 8 shrike forces.
The amount of midnights was nuts
unfortunate, the midnight mayhams get really strong in multiples. The eerie deck is nice, too though ;)

Midnight mayhem is a top 3 uncommon in the set 😂 crazy to see so many being passed!

Clammy Prowler + Fear of failed tests!
Rooms!
Never seen Ghostly Dancers do so little. So far in 100% of cases it has been a 3-for-1 even if killed right away

no BK 64-player ? Is that bad news?
Goes up tomorrow

would it be crazy to take the scavenger over the hovership? that card has been busted
I think it's the correct pick. Completely busted 1 drop.
You do have to get the buildaround for it. The hovership, on the other hand, is just always strong.
Scavenger is at least top 2 in that pack. Lot of strong cards in that pack actually.
@@vesmolol9185 I disagree. The ship is much stronger

Not a big fan of this arena “background” or whatever you wanna call it. Tough on the eyes and really distracting
