  • Showing the world what the Fisher 1265 x can do in my test garden. Nice older machine that can hold it own in today's digital tech.

I still miss my 1266X...Made some great finds with it....Those older detectors made by Fisher were legendary...Too bad they still don't make them anymore...We have a tendency now to rely too much on visual Id now...but those beep and deep detectors could still hold it's own against detectors made today...

I found a fisher 1266xb in case with plastic bag still on head and foam covering stem. Never once used or had batteries in it. Still in Fisher factory box. Off of marketplace for 300.00. My wife and I had a metal detector shop called treasure island metal detectors in 2000 thru 2010. I sold fisher, Garrett, Tesoro and bounty hunter. 1266xb, and Tesoro are hands down best analog detectors ever. I cannot stand the digital detectors of today.

Nice review ..... I've just got my 1265-X out of nearly 30 years in storeage, really amazed that the original Nicad batteries are holding their charge !! ...... so now that i'm semi-retired i'm looking forward to going out with this old friend.

I used to love using that machine. I walked miles of corn rows swinging a 1265. Wouldn't mind having another.

Thanks for doing a review on the 1265. I still have my machine from the 80's along with the 1270 I got in 2005. Dug many civil war relics with the old Fisher they make fine detectors that are easy to use.

ONE OF THE BEST METAL DETECTORS EVER MADE FOR COIN SHOOTING - IT IS A SILVER FINDING MONSTER - I'VE FOLLOWED PEOPLE WITH GARRETS, WHITES, TECHTRONICS, ETC. AND FOUND COINS THEY WALKED RIGHT OVER! THIS WAS IN THE EARLY TO MID 1980s.
DOES ANY COMPANY TODAY MAKE A BETTER METAL DETECTOR?!!

A friend just brought one to me . The hot wires are in poor shape. Insulation is coming off. Almost looks melted but very well could be from age and bad batteries maybhave been left in it for a couple decades. How are the leads connected to the batteries? A pair of red and black on one side and red and bkack on the other? Is there a battery case for each side? So far i dodnt have enough double As but i stacked some 3volt disc batteries but got nuthin. Hooked it up to a drill battery charger but it acted weird . Woild love to see the battery holder inners if you get bored enough to make another video. Thanks for this one

What does it mean when you're saying 6 inch dime 8 inch Dime 7-in dime what does that mean because I just picked up one of these machines from an auction and it was from a big company and they said it was a really good

Take no notice of so called modern reviews on this or the 1266x...both hold there own against most machines of quality.
I have found most 1266 run a bit hotter than the 1265, but 1265 seems more stable in boost mode.
As it's a coin and relic unit, it will find deep iron, it's expected.
