Thanks Alan, that’s great to know. I’m a novice too, self taught and learning on every one. I’m just about to do a nice simple Rough Rider body, one colour only. Maybe I should do a video. It’s for the one I smashed up at Knox 3.0 recently.
Hi,I'm enjoying your videos, it's reminded me of the time I done mine. I'm 75 now and sprayed my Beetle Green/Yellow. The Ford I sprayed in metallic Bronze. I had a metal frame made for the back of the Ford and put a black cover on top. The Beetle driver had a beard. This was made from the lining off a jewellery box. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos. Mike of Bristol UK
Hi Mike, they sound great colour schemes. I did think about doing metallic bronze on the Ford but went for the safe option. Hopefully you’ve checked out my Sand Scorcher paint videos too. I have a pile of builds to get to including a Rough Rider I’m planning on painting in the alternative blue & white scheme. Next build should be the fuel tanker for the Grand Hauler. Thanks again for watching!
Awesome! Looks amazing, the metal flake really stands out. 😎 It was the same colour I did mine in as well, way back then. 😁 Thanks for the great memories..🥲😊
Thank you, it took 6 months all up including the chassis restoration which is on the previous video. Wow, a NIB one? That’s something special. That would definitely be a hard decision! My first video was building a MK1 Ranger that had been partially built by someone else and they gave up many years ago so was perfect to rebuild and finish. The videos started there purely for me to record and watch back because you can’t redo these things!
Beautiful paint job. I'm working my way through a Ranger rebuild & having seen yours, I'll be using the same colours. Don't have a set of decals available though so I shall mask of the panels & maybe paint them silver instead.
@@russmilton4491 thanks Russ. The old decals are hard to find and they aren’t very sticky either. Mine are lifting and have creases here and there where they don’t stick down. They are super thin and not really flexible. RCdecals2 from the U.K. on eBay sell some decent reproduction versions if that helps. Paint sounds cool though. Good luck with it!
@@jason.bochniak Thanks for the heads up. I've used them before but couldn't find a Ranger set previously, They DO list it on their website & as I'm in the UK anyway, that's a win all round. Cheers mate & keep up the great Tamiya vids.
@@russmilton4491 no worries Russ, if I remember, he lists just one design but as you’ll know the MK1 & MK2 Ranger decals differ due to the front wheel arch dimensions being different so worth emailing him first. MCI in Canada list both options but I don’t think they are as good quality. I haven’t done any new builds recently, been to the vintage bash in Melbourne and bought an old 1/1 scale car which was been taking up my spare time. I do have a backlog of builds to do so will get on with them soon. Thanks again for the support!
Thank you so much for this vid. As a beginner it's been very helpful.

Brilliant! I love how you took us through the whole paint process in great detail. Amazing work.
@@RCRetro thanks again! I’m no pro by any stretch. Painting outside, no booth, no PPE and making it up as I go along lol. I do my best.
Absolutely stunning !. I hope they do a reissue of these
@@NS-tv7wi Thanks Nick, yeah it’s lovely. Love, love, love the Rangers!

Awesome video and details. I wouldn't even run that. I would call it good and just display it for show. Thanks for sharing.
Came out great Jason
Thanks Keith, glad it’s finally done.

Thanks mate. Hopefully you’ll find one to build or restore too.
@@jason.bochniak My wife would have my head on a platter if I spent that kind of money on a "toy". My 2010 faux blackfoot will have to do, for now..😉
Lol
My first Tamiya, such a cool truck. Paint work is awsome!
Thank you. I bet you loved it, great to have had one back in the day!
Looks great. I recently found a NIB Tamiya Ranger and been fighting the urge to build it. Very nice restoration!

Thanks for subscribing and thanks for the positive feedback. Yeah, it’s lovely and I have run it once. Did you see my MK1 video?
Stunning job!👍
Thank you!

Well done. It really looks great in the sun.
Thanks Trey, the sun came out just as I finished up.
