- We're starting off with the Introduction itself to J. Leland Brown's "The Art of Pipe Smoking Pleasure". Published in 1946, it hails from the golden age of pipe smoking and may serve to remind us all exactly how much we have in common with the pipe smokers who came before!
Ben, I always get super stoked when you post a book reading. They feed the reason for why I picked up a pipe in the first place! Your readings are relaxing us out here and therefore we are more relaxed for folks that we come in contact with in a very hectic world. Codger life rules😉
"Feeding the reason why I picked up a pipe in the first place" is EXACTLY why I want to make these videos! Thank you so much for saying so! Happy Puffs Mr. Scripto!

Glad to have a way to comment on this reading having seen it on BRTV. Interesting to see the views of a pipe smoker from times gone by. When pipesters could puff indoors almost anywhere. Thanks to the fellas that helped pave the way for us in this lifestyle. Many happy smokes brother.

I enjoyed this on BRTV. You definitely have the voice for radio or narrating!👍🏻
Thank you very much George! I plan to do more!
I’m confused. Why is this on UA-cam if it’s exclusive to BRTV? Inquiring minds want to know.
This is just the first vid in a whole series on BRTV where I read the whole thing. I wanted to put a sample of sorts up here in case anyone wanted to hear the book and didn't already know about BRTV.
Glad to have a way to comment on this reading having seen it on BRTV

Haha, why thank you Grant!
@@theartfulcodger And Ben, I'm going to share this on other media!
Really enjoyed that and I got to try velvet for the first time today. I like it.
Glad to hear it Donald! It's a simple, comfortable, old-fashioned sort of blend... and it has a way of growing on you terribly. Don't say I didn't warn you!
@@theartfulcodger Man, I really appreciate the fact that you actually do respond to the people that make comments. I am new to pipe smoking. I've only really been smoking. For about 2 months and I'm learning a lot as I go and I'm learning from people like you. On UA-cam and mutton-chop Piper and Matches860 I'm watching his old videos. But I wanted to say thank you guys.
@@donaldgraham1744 Well thank you Donald, and welcome to the wonderful world of pipe smoking! I always look forward to talking to viewers and pipe smokers!
Remember to always enjoy what you're doing, take your time, and let your nose and your experience be your guide. Advice is everywhere, and some of it very good... but at the end of the day enjoyment and relaxation are what matters when it comes down to it. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise. And have fun! 😉
Great Video! I wish this book was more easily found...
Well, true, but the whole thing is posted up on BRTV if you want to hear and see the rest!
