    I had a live in for three years, she left to get married and my daughters were her flower girls. She was so good. After that I had a live in for only one year then called it quits in 2017 and got a cleaning lady who came once a week. When corona happened she and her husband both lost their jobs so she reached out to me and I took her back immediately as a day bug once a week. My mum heard she was available and also took her. My friend also. So, my point is if a lady is good her work will always go before her and open doors for her.

    I have taken a maid back...she was so nice to my first born for a full year and a half and towards Christmas, she told me she wouldn't return but go to work at a factory. 3 weeks later, after Christmas, she called and told me it wasn't working out at the factory and she wanted to return; I gladly welcomed her back coz i happened to be maid hunting :)

    I have had several helps. Paid them a lot way over what others pay. The shift has been 8 am to 8pm with weekends off. The work was not much compared to other homes. They both found a reason to complain and leave. I believe most helps never intend to stay for long and there is nothing you can do to keep them. Its mostly a mentality they have. Very few are wise.

      @suzyshomestead  3 роки тому +8

      Hey Joy! She sounds like she's a bit immature and doesn't know how to handle correction. I would correct her respectfully, and then move on. I am very conscious about letting other people's bad moods rub off on me. Regardless of how moody she became, I would just be my usual jovial self, and completely ignore her moodiness. Then when she sees that I have no grudge against her even though she made a mistake, she should adjust her attitude. I would not talk to her about the moodiness though. Neither would I let it affect me. That's how I handle moody people generally. I let it roll off like water on a duck. 😂😂😂

      @@joymutuku3808 Tell her directly. Confront the situation. Be kind but direct and firm. Avoid escalating the situation, there are those who'll start raising their voice or being defensive when confronted, hapana. Keep it calm.
      Also, framing can make a difference. "I get the impression that you are not happy with me commenting on your work. However, we need to establish a way to work together..." would be better than "na hii kufurafura yako sasa huwa unafuria nani? "
      The kizungu mingi may be seen as condescending depending on your house help. Anyway, she may be immature or she may not appreciate your delivery method. Third option is you are misreading the situation. People misread others all the time if RBF is anything to go by. It may just be RBF... No one giggles when being corrected.

I’d leave 12 chapos napata 2, food for a week (coz I was single and I’d cook once) napata food ya two days. I got pissed and i asked her never to touch the food but I’d give her cash for her lunch.

    i had alot of drama with my househelp once,so i gave her all her money and made her go back to the village but, i was 4months pregnant with a one year old toddler, she was perfect with my toddler when it came all cleanness and feeding,the toddler was even gaining weight very well,BUT...BUT..she had alot of boyfriends and sometimes went with the toddler,,so i made her leave..but when i gave birth i sent fair to the same village but she came herself...so she said she was sorry and she was young at that time so now shez already 18 and says she will do better,,but even before my new baby was 40 days old she slept outside the house with our neighbor's shopkeeper and my mother got her red handed and said if i still wanna keep her i should leave her house, so i went back to my house with the house help but she got worst even bringing men in the house imagine with a toddler and a baby(what was she thinking??) so i just chucked her one evening i've never been so furious as that day,,well now i have a new one shez okay but expecting to go home during xmas season, am planning on not letting her back i will need alot of tips from you to do without househelps,,aaaargh!

      @@suzyshomestead unfortunately I was so good and treated here so well, I even helped so much around the house instead it's turned like she has divided the duties. Cox of the open communication, I now can tell her to do something and she says she will and if I check if it was done even more than three days after to a week it's not. We are shy of 3months to be two yrs. The'attitude' started this year and I have been talking to her about it. I pay her on the 30 or 1st. Suzy...my story.
    This helps are something else. I went through so much yet I was so kind to my former help. I used to pay her 8k and a daybug and I have one child. Only for her to rummer monger and gossip me badly all over but pretending to be the best..Mama mbogas, watchmen, neighbors.all of them sent me voice recordings pictures and videos of how envious and devious she was when it came to me and my family during those gossip hours. Her Facebook profile picture was a picture of her suckling on my baby's bottle. She was psychotic yet a grown woman 45 years old..I have stayed 5 months without help but...
    Today I get a new one and I have installed cameras, and printed a set of rules and a contract..I am not playing. My kindness and trust was shattered simbembelezi mtu.. and to remember how I kept her close. Gave her gifts. Had all the meals I had we even used to go out together. Hey work hours were 7am - 6pm but kwangu kazi si mingi, I cook all meals and wash clothes with a washing machine. Hard works like carpets I outsource vijana to wash. Aiiihh
    You should see me cleaning this house as I await for her arrival. She will be a live-in. Also I am later cooking a storm with this baby on my back. But I have toughned up. Twas baaaaadd 😳😭 Pray for me mom's.
