Get a mama nguo lady to do general cleaning twice a week and clothes however times you can afford then do cooking and preparing your children in the morning,if you have older children teach them to do house chores like helping you prepare and cook, let them carry key house to school and they can come and open for themselves and wait responsibly for you as they do their homework and warm snacks.

Oh Suzy i really love this video. You are a very relatable person and inspirational. Right now my house help is juggling between my house and another kaside hustle. I am putting up with it coz my eldest daughter can look after her 2 brothers in the morning before the house help comes at around 10 am. I love all your tips and especially having to do my own housework and automating the housework. I do laundry, (i have a washing machine) i fold, i clean the bedrooms, i clean the living room, vacuum the rugs and clean the kitchen not to mention doing all the cooking and still go to work. And its so liberating to know that i can do it all. Thanks for the motivation and inspiration. New friend here. Happy to connect. See you around.

I'm a perfectionist. I was done with househelps last year June. I have survived and I have two school goers, one is special needs. It has not been easy but this far it has worked out. Early mornings and late nights are exhausting but the joy of accomplishment and having not to stress over a grownup in your space doing everything contrary to your instructions, lets me sleep well at night. But I'm blest coz I work from home. I will find new ways to adjust when the rona passes and life has to go back to normal. For now I'm househelp-stress-free! Great channel by the way Suzy.

Like any job, as Kenyans in we need to look at the pay and conditions we subject househelps to. Most of us would never work for ourselves given the way we treat our maids. Many times nikisikia ati mtu ako na shida ya househelps, I cannot help but wonder at the pay and conditions of the work place.
For example, kama uko na 2 kids and husband, the maid is expected to cater to them, wash clothes, prepare lunch, clean the house and have dinner ready without any help..oh and iron clothes etc etc. Most wives can#t even handle their own homes on a weekend, then the maid is expected to do this 6 days a week for a pay of less than 10K... Kenyan wives, wake up! I always says, stay home for a week doing what your maid does, then you will learn whether you are a good employer in terms of pay and work conditions!

Very true. If you have watched any of my other videos about househelps, then you know that I totally agree with you. 😄😄 However, let's just agree that there are a lot of employers who do all this and more and the problem is actually the help. Saying that employers are the problem 100% of the time is really not accurate, IMHO.. Thanks for watching! 🌼🌻

Most employers are decent with the exemption of a few. Most house helps lack integrity.I asked one of them if she ever wondered why many of them remain as helps? It's because of the atrocious lies they tell, the stealing, the bad attitude, the subtle resentment of their madam. All these are seeds they sow ignorant of the fact that, what a man sows, they shall reap.

This was very interesting to me to hear that it's getting hard to find a good house help. I live in the US and have 2 kids and a 3rd on the way and it's always just been my hubby and I doing everything. I always fantasize how nice it would be to move back home and hire all the help I can! Seems it's not so easy huh? Even when we hired a nanny she was only taking care of the baby, not cooking, cleaning etc. Your tips are all on point. Meal planning, having a routine, working as a team and letting go of perfection all work very well for us. Nice video.

Well done Emma! That's exactly what I'm talking about. I am always so inspired by parents in the developed countries, because they are able to plan their lives very well. I think we are a bit spoilt over here... 🤭🤭🤭 But, I sense a shifting in the wind. People are tired... More and more parents are choosing to stay without helps. Keep up the good job, and thank you for watching! 🌸🌺💐

Great video but the background music was annoying. It was loud & competing with your voice. Please find something soft for background.

Why don't we use this problem as an opportunity. We can create a program to give classes or train house managers, nannies, cleaning ladies etc.
