And the viral messages are both conspicuous and - even better - concealed. So, are Swifties and Rap Geniuses the same? Is it impossible to be a pop star if you’re old? Are fish just a gateway pet? Idk how to sound this without sounding wild but it is interesting to see people not of the culture first view beef as “needlessly mean spirited “ (in so many words ) only to then see it differently because Taylor swift does it too . I for the record don’t expect Sarah , Pablo or Charlotte to have the prerequisite cultural background and lived experience to relate to rap beef it’s just interesting to see who shifted the lens for them and why .

Just wanted to show some love to Sarah Spain real quick, been a fan of hers since she started showing up on Around The Horn, then LeBatard took her under his wing and made her a big part of Highly Questionable and she’s always been an excellent fit. Always super kind interactions with her on Twitter as well, one of the few people who will actually reply to you.

I went to see JT earlier this week, incredible show. Made me re-listen to his album, it's better than I thought the first time I went through it. Not as good as his first 3, but definitely better than his last 2.

As Hip-Hop fan for over 30 years hearing "Kendrick Lamar turned everyone into Swifties" hurts my soul. Not as an anti-Swiftie vibe, but as this what Hip-Hop used to be, analyzing lyrics. So instead of Kendrick bringing it back to the essence of Hip-Hop, it's we're all swifties doesn't sit right.

Love these episodes. Charlotte and Sarah are awesome. Also love the episodes with Katie Nolan and folks brought in to discuss a specific issue. I watch, but don't love as much, the episodes with John Skipper and the dude who used to own the Marlins. I like Skipper but the other guy is sort of a typical rich white guy. They don't need a platform.

I can't stand that Atlantic piece. I, 100%, feel like Justin was riffing on the thirsty, aging pop star trope. I saw so much irony in what he was doing in the last year and it seemed like the media coverage of all of that seemed like it was willfully refusing to see it.
