Jon Bois makes, not exaggerating, my favourite videos on UA-cam. He's the fuckin best.
i think bois should be a regular on PTFO, and maybe even pablo could do some collab work with SB nation. they're very similar in style and content. both loosely related to sports, but love to go off on tangents about stories related to specific athletes or teams. like, pablos story about the yankee swap could 100% have been a jon bois story too.
I absolutely love his deeply American yet also British dead-pan humor. The video he did about the guy who flew away on a lawn chair with an inadequate number of balloons attached is probably my favorite.

PTFO is a podcast, a video podcast that I actually listen to at slower speeds (I consume podcasts at 3x, yes I get maybe 80% of what I listen to) and I actually put my game controller down and attentively watch and listen.

I was in middle school in '92 and we did a school wide mock election. Perot won by a landslide. I agree with the whole "he would have been a terrible President" take but the idea that there was some modicum of common sense to his politics and that he was detached from party politics still rings loudly in 2024. I'm going to have to check out the documentary because even leaving partisan politics at the door of UA-cam comments, we're looking at Biden/Trump II and most of America below the age of 65 is groaning loudly but because of the party apparatus, it feels like we're all stuck. Perot winning may have unstuck us from the two party merry-go-round, but that's a big pie in the sky thing to wonder.
Pablo, I just discovered you. Your show is great. You speak like an adult. Your topics are novel and interesting, and your ego is strong enough to allow our guest the spotlights.
This kind of a format is better for Torre than ESPN (on which he had High Noon) in my opinion.

I don't even say "Third Party" anymore bc media has focused solely on portraying third party candidates as novelties and kooks for decades so that no one will even entertain to notion of voting outside of the two major parties (which is desperately needed).
Instead, I refer to them as alternative candidates.

I swear to God, my first thought seeing this was "Pablo better have not stolen Bois's content that I 100% dropped everything to listen to yesterday..." then I saw the guest.
I saw the Stieb four part series. I had no idea who did it. I agree with him on 3rd parties. It doesn't happen often but 3 party types do win elections but it happens more on a local level .I am sure he would feel the same way about Jill Stein and probably Nader. I don't think he would have been a good president. But he generally on the right side of the issues. I am on facebook group the people who post there are pretty smart They are touting Jill Stein but there is no way she will win The certainly don't like Trump but they probably dislike Biden more for supporting geocide. They know that Trump would be supporting Israel But on the whole he would be so much worse for the country.

Jon doesnt want to give Ross' character too much credit because he was a Billionaire, but he was absolutely a stand ip human being. The man got his employees out of Iran on his own dime. He truly cared about the people who worked for him.
He would've probably been a fine president who got stuff done due to working with both parties.
