- The legendary basketball coach has made a comeback at St. John's, which paints him as a role model. But Pitino's past has only become more and more mysterious, beyond the Adidas bribery scandal, a love triangle and so-called Strippergate. Correspondent Tim Rohan speaks to the private investigator who gave Pitino a lie-detector test... then gets a bizarre letter, a late-night phone call and a trip down a rabbit hole that leads all the way toward dirt on the Clintons and the federal investigation into Donald Trump.

This is why you get the big budget over David Samson. Masterclass
I happen to like David and his pod btw
Damn 😔
Interesting, in order to compliment PTFO David Samson needed to be somehow put down.
Cringe. Way too parasocial
@@PorqueNoLosDosMore interesting: It's the most popular comment.
Because Samson is a stain on the world and all things Meadowlark.
Rick PItino was the coach of Kentucky Basketball during my High School and College years. I was about as obsessed with UK basketball as you could be during that period. I consumed every piece of media and even though the internet was in its infancy there were already message boards and whatnot devoted to UKBB and CBB. One of the craziest Rick Pitino stories/rumors that was fairly well known in Lexington and Kentucky but never got any traction nationally was all of his infidelities. So he opened a restaurant in Lexington called Bravo Pitino. It was right across the street from Rupp Arena in Downtown Lexington. He was always complaining about the lack of good Italian food in the area so some restauranteur talked Rick into slapping his name on his venture and they hired a fancy NYC chef to run the place. Well, there was an office or apartment on the second floor of the place and that's where Pitino would take his neverending line of willing accomplishes for quickies. He was rumored to be hooking up with UK students, Waitresses from the restaurant, Cincinnati Bengals cheerleaders, etc. Pitino was not very discrete back in those days of no cell phones or social media and the local media knew all about it but were hands-off when it came to printing nonsports stuff like that, but they loved to gossip about it! Sharing incase Torre want to go down that rabbithole.
Did any of the women die? Were any of the women men? Did he father a child whom he does not claim and or support?
Those are the only things people care about when it comes to infidelity…..Ricks not the only college coach with “side hustles”
Masterclass in journalism 👏 👏! Well done.
I live in Louisville and could walk to Porcinis from my house. I also graduated Highschool with Karen Syphers son in 2008. There’s always been this joke that Pitino is affiliated with the Italian Mob and super connected. Pitino could do anything in Louisville and get away with it. I would argue that even with all of his baggage… most Louisville fans want him back bc like Dan says… “Winning Cures All”.
Can we investigate what happens when Katie and Dan test different celebrity marijuana strains?
snacks and naps
I'm 6 minutes in and i'm already like WTF DUDE
Interesting podcast that shows more of the process of investigating a story then actually getting anyone to talk and flesh a story out.
You guys are killing it
Holy cannoli! My husband said I'd never guess where this episode would end up but I had no idea...
I hope this is just part 1..Bizzaro World!!!
It's so private we are talking about it. You think this type of lifestyle is a Rick Pitino thing? Did you hear the Johnny Manziel on Club Shay Shay? Players demanding millions of dollars. The entire culture of college sports is dirty.
Pablo Torre: the best journalist of a group small enough to count on one hand, a journalist who is truly doing investigative journalism and truly getting deep dives and great, unbiased information and reporting it in a very palatable way. You should have millions of subscribers, I have no doubt that you will sooner than later.
He introduces the story. I'm like "why the f do I want 40 more minutes of this story??" 40 minutes later I am pleased I stayed. Every time.
Who else can take such an ineffectual outcome and turn it into an entertaining story with significant educational value to their audience?
This investigation must continue
What an amazing episode!
Things I found out . Don’t ask around about Coach Patino. Fantastic story yall !! #ptfo
Pablo rubbing his hands like Baby , “This seems like intimidation for us to stop this episode”.
Just started the episode and after hearing the introduction, I can’t wait until I find out what Pablo found out on this one! 👀👀👀
Pablo my man, you might be the best investigative reporter of all time, let alone sports reporter. Love your wit, Your insight, your thoughtfulness, your intellect you serve up all infused with your perverted licentiousness. Whatever awards are given out for this shit, you got my vote bro!
excellent. Keep it up guys
Pablo, you’re batting 1.000 🔥🔥🔥👏🏾
Your number populated in my phone 🤣🤣
Lie Detector tests, also known as Polygraph Tests, are said to be ineffectual by a majority of Psychologists.
Particularly lie detector tests administered by the person you're paying.
one of the best episodes for sure, this shit is WILD.
Pitino also had players on "concussion protocol" when they were completely fine but being disciplined for off court issues. Rick was tired of the press asking why talented players were not playing. It was easier to fake concussions than have a player in a boot acting like he was hurt which actually happened. Sports journalists left local publications to have the freedom to report stories concerning Pitino because of the grip UL had on the press.
I watched this entire episode and … I somehow understand this story less than when I started. Who is paying for all these lawyers and how much court time is this sham taking up?
Kudos for a great journalistic investigation. However, how do you bring up Mark Meadows without identifying him as a criminally indicted coconspirator?
I really hope more people find this podcast. Really entertaining and pretty fascinating!!!
Sounds like Jon is the guy stalking PMT as well lol
And Sampson thinks his show is as good as this 😂😂😂
What up Milwaukee bro, ❤
Well... This escalated quickly!
"Long winded" LMAO
I’m 15 mins in and this sh!t is WILD 🤯
So 50 min and we found out what........ Pitino henchmen??
Damn can I get recruited by Louisville?
Honest FBI guy is an oxymoron.
They killed MLK, COINTELPRO, entrapment of Muslims after 9/11 etc. Never were the good guys.
The reaction I had hearing that the Clinton foundation was involved lmao
This John Moynihan guy reminds me of the law firm fixer played by George Clooney in Michael Clayton. Don't ask, don't tell about tactics and assignments
Fact and fiction meeting truth to power. #PTFO
Who are you to judge others like this?
I need Chaz Palimenteri to play Pitino before he dies
this is a new level of sloppy seconds
I am very glad that my _alma mater_ did not sign Rick Pitino after this.
What a killer episode
I didn’t think it was possible for me to have a lower opinion of Rick Pitino. I was wrong.
👏🏾👏🏾
Lie detector test...LOL My boss isnt guilty! Dbl LOL you may want to read up on Whitey Bulger; there is no hard line between law enforcers and breakers in MA.
Boomers love the F.C.C.
20 minutes in and this story STILL has not reached it's peak of weirdness!
Sounds a little like the book "Catch and Kill" by Ronan Farrow with regard to Harvey Weinstein
Hilarious story
So you’re saying a Catholic Institution is harboring and promoting a scavone like Rick Pitino.
Pitino speaks, Pitino lies. Everything he says is either a lie or at least hyperbole.
Wtf
2 merica
Rick was very close to the Clintons and would bring them to Kentucky often for events.
Every time the show starts with Cortes I want to turn it off. 🤮🤮🤮
A lot of rabbit holes. No real results. I was expecting more
Chris Cuomo is a clown 🤡 I Don't know why PBD is adding him
Yall found out that yall arent allowed to find out. That ending was flatter than a plate full of piss...
Based on everything you guys said in the podcast, doesn’t look like you found any new information. In fact both the lie detector test and the board that managed the adidas scandal cleared him for the most part. Other than indulging in your own fantasies and potentially causing this man another job, there is no “reporting” being done here. The law firm didn’t threaten you either. I’m a lawyer and have written cease and desist letters before and that wasn’t one at all. Why are you surprised that a man who’s already dealt with these allegations is trying to stand up for himself after being asked about them again?
Bet you’re a former DEA agent
looks like we found moynihan's burner account
This is way over edited. People enjoy podcast for regular conversations
They found nothing out that's why it was just a bullshit thing to get an episode out for clicks. Cmon Pablo find facts do better or don't do an episode on something. Ur supposed to find out. Ur just saying conspiracy theories about Rick patino. The same thing u were just complaining about in this episode.
Ok Rick
Thanks for your input, Rick
I bet you’re employed by Clark Hill!
@marshallclayton997 so witty and hilarious... this must be cortes burner account.
@@moblith3952 You mean other than Pitino is repped by a law firm known for political ratf*cking and has a network devoted to protecting his name through keystone cops intimidation tactics? That all seems pretty newsworthy.
Pablo, thank you for caring about actual journalism.
