- 2021 John Deere 2032r 270B backhoe and thumb. Just got this backhoe last week and only have about 2 hrs experience using a backhoe on this one. Very easy to learn and im impressed with the power. Please like and subscribe, i may make more videos going forward. Thanks
That stump was a beast! Like that thumb on the backhoe too!
It's always amazing to me how much digging has to be done and how big the hole has to be before the trunk even starts to give up. And 5 hours is a pretty fair time to get it out too. Nice job.
Would have been done WAY faster if he just hooked a chain underneath and pulled the stump out after loosening it. TON of unnecessary digging.
Ok, I will start by saying I like the video. I was a little disappointed though. With the title, John Deere 2032R and 2038R using 270B backhoe to remove stump, I was thinking there would be two tractors having dueling backhoes going on. LOL. Thought maybe a neighbor stopped by to help out. Great looking dirt by the way. You did a fantastic job given the size of that stump. That had a huge root ball. Looks like it struggled to pop a few roots, not surprising, but doing it in 5 hours, that's impressive. I have a 3038R with cab, I use if for working on other people's properties. Maybe I should start making vieos of the work I do. You will love it even more once you buy attachments for it. I have a stump grinder, tiller, box blade, flail mower, backhoe, pallet forks, grapples, bucket. I have only been doing my work for a little over a year. It's amazing what these compact tractors can do. Keep up the work and looking forward to more videos.
Nice!
nice soil !!!
My video keeps freezing and can't see end. Were you able to lift that stump with backhoe attachment?
No i used a chain to pull it out and lifted aand moved it with forks on the loader.
I assume the thumb is not hydraulic? Curious how long it took you to remove the stump??
yes the thumb is manual and i really like it. I find just having it in the all the way open position out of the way it still works great. I have only moved it once. I dont remember on stump removal time. I didnt really time it. I would guess around 5 hrs on that one.
@@AaronTurnwald once the stump was removed then just a matter of back filling with the FEL? Did you have enough dirt to level the site?
@@johnelliott6738 ya i back filled with the loader. Some dirt needed to be added to accommodate for the loss of the big stump mass. I used some good soil from using the backhoe again to clean out the ditches in my front yard. grass grew back very quickly.
What kind of tree was it? I have a whole row of dead pine trees that have to be removed.
This one was a Scotch pine
@@AaronTurnwald I thought it was some type of pine. I have a row of 10 of those that have to come down next summer. I will be getting a lot of chainsaw and backhoe time for sure.
Use the legs to get back wheels off the ground Lift front wheels with loader, far greater stability
I have found not lifting the back wheels all the way off the ground to be better. Then i can set the park brake and it keeps from the backhoe pulling the tractor at all.
Next time, cut the roots with a saw as you uncover them. Think you were just having fun with your tractor!
Yes your right, for some reason i like to dig stumps up!
