You could do a whole video on the framing and hardware of the sliding doors. It looks very well done.
good video and job you may can do stump grinding and backhoe and loader work to pay the bills. may can make a little with sawmill to. take care, be safe and well.
@@johnwoody4905 last month I started a new LLC business for land and lawn property maintenance. Its going well!
good video and job sorry about jpb all the democrats havve to go evert thing here is closing to. take care, be safe and well.
@@johnwoody4905 Thank you!
Get the CBN grinding wheel . No profiling and it does not get smaller so the settings are usually pretty darn close. I also think it puts less heat into the tooth .
@@finniganshomestead2956 i have it now
Nice video. Is your building made out of wood you milled yourself? If you want a tip to improving your videos get a lapel mic. Better sound will make a huge difference. Thanks for sharing. I have been wondering if one of those things will reach the teeth on a band saw mill blade.
@@DavoShed yes my dad and I milled all the wood except thw treated posts. I bought a mic but it doesnt work with my camera. Thanks for watching!
Awesome ❤💪🙏
Aaron, you have a lot to offer. After 17 years in the W2 rat race, you will find your skills, knowledge, and work ethic will be rewarded. Let’s Go Get ‘Em!
@@markadevereaux Thanks Mark! That's the positive influence I need right now. Appreciate you man!
Great Looking Shed ,Can you Please show in more detail how you build the sliding door tracks. ,? Thanks
You need a jointer to flatten one side before sending it through a planer if you want to take the twist out of a board. If you don’t have a jointer, you can make a “jig” with a piece of flat stock (like plywood) to set the twisted board on and shim it (hot glue works well to keep the board attached to the flat stock, and is easily removed afterward). Once the top side is flattened, you can flip it over and run it through the planer normally to get 2 flat parallel sides.
@@iJoel00 Yes, I have a jointer and a slab flatening router sled. Both work well.
@@AaronTurnwald good to hear - in that case, I’m unsure at your surprise at a twisted board staying twisted when only having run it through a planer without a jig.
I just ordered mine, thanks for the informative vid.
So....what exactly did you do? I couldn't find the follow up video.
It’s very nice, but don’t you think it’s like 10 feet or more too short……
@@thomaskapetantsis4951 it's worked out very well for us. Could easily be added onto but no need so far.
Theu ARE not called "sawmill sheds " . The proper name is "mill house " . This is from a life long sawyer .
Really nice Saw Mill Shed, you and your Dad did a excellent job on the build, like the style of the building, also you did good on the Sawmill Sign, really looks great, THANKS for sharing, SUBSCRIBED
Thank you!
Is there any way to get a copy of the design? I would love to build me a shed like that over my mill.
Sorry not at this time.
Nice work, love the bucket to catch the saw dust 👌
You may want to put a sheet metal cap over the top of roof panels. You might get a bit of water coming in there. That could be done and still leave the ribs open for the ventilation.
good worker
What model sharpener is this you have?
The woodland mills first model
Sped up video means the saw is painfully slow.
What Spies’s of wood did you use for the shed build?
White pine
Super looking... Would you tell me the height of your front and back of roof, and height of the door.
Yes i can measure them tomorrow
13ft tall front side of roof, 8.5 ft back short side of roof, 8ft to top or door.
What converter do you have
Listed a link to it in the description for you
missing your videos
More to come soon im hoping!
We’ve had ours 20 years had to replace engine 2 yrs back new engine is 2 more hp, lovejoy has been replaced and hydraulic fluid and filter been changed out once. That’s the only maintenance we’ve done to it. This splitter is a beast!!!
What acool set u
nice sawmill shed
Great video. Just what we’re looking for. Can we get copies of the drawings or specs?
We just built it as we went. No documents other than this walk through video. Basicly pole barn style framing.
I like the sawmill vids lotta hard work but some good looking boards
Very nice looking shed . And well built.
Sorry, not for me!
Nice log❤❤❤❤
Nice video. Very helpful. Thanks
Very nice mill, and great video!👍🏻
Thanks for watching!
side wall bracing ?
Only what you see. Its framing is built exactly like a standard pole barn would be framed. All building code inspections passed easily.
You got that done in no time flat ( according to the clock on the wall ) lol. Nice log. Nice slabs
Beautyful. Wery good. 😊
From the looks and configuration I seem to have the exact same splitter. Unfortunately I'm the second owner and missed out on all the great years it had splitting wood. I've had it since the end of Feb. '23. My luck, it started having issues with the Return in early Nov. Would not lock in the auto return Detent. It got worse and at times would not press back to return the Piston at all and started loosing Fluid at the Detent housing.*It had come lose and lost 1 of the Allen Bolts. After several Repair attempts, I realized the Detent Ring is worn out and is causing it to hang the 4 balls in the Neutral position. I took out the Detent spring and balls and reassembled it back with No Auto-return capability for now to finish my '23 Splitting project ahead of bad weather. *Note - this Splitter has already done at last 10 cords for me and has split several hundred cods in its lifetime. I will be ordering a replacement Control Valve after the first of the year, change it out and do a full service in preparation for next year. I've already got about 8 Cords of Black Walnut cut into rounds and stacked, waiting to be split.
hi there nice log well done , john
Have you ever thought about doing a short video on the I-gaging measuring system that you have on your mill? I have an older hm126 and the measurements read greater the closer that you get to the log bunks.
Hadnt thought of it. I have not noticed an incremental increase in board size like you mention. Ill have to test it out.
The board size stays the same. It’s the scale that reads larger as you drop the saw head. It’s because on the older saws the pointer moves and the log scale is stationary. I’m very interested in the digital readout since I’ve put one on my wood planer.
@@tombooks1410 ok, i thought you were saying you had a dogital readout and its was increasing incrementally. I was hesitant about the digital readout at first. But now my dad and I use it exclusively withoutout issue. Highly recommended one. Just take a little fab work for some brackets to mount it. Zero issue so far.
Beautifull building. Like to know how wide your board and batten is . Im in the process of milling siding for my house . I find your woodshed just wonderfull, and thought of doing something similar. Thanks 👍👍
Thank you! The boards are 11 inch wide and the battons are 2 inch.
Very attractive looking shed. Enjoy
The track cover does really make it look awesome. Very nice. Thanks for sharing.
Very clever on the door track above. I see a deep strut with a trolley set up. Did you use a track system for the bottom so the wind can't take the doors off? I like it, wish I could get my hands on a Header Beam like that! Thanks.
The doors each have a pin that drops at bottoms into concrete plastic sleeve hole.
Nice 🦌
Thanks, usually just try to find the best couple bucks available in my area every year and go get em!
Nice looking shed!👏 EDIT: what do you use to move the logs on the mill? A hydraulic log turner is not a simple proposition and lifts and tractors are painful for a single person...🤔
Tractor with forks works great for the big logs and a cant hook works fine by hand on smaller or medium logs.
I hate that I just found this video.... I've been working slowly drawing up and designing a shed for our mill for last month or two, picking ideas from several videos. After seeing this....I'm starting from scratch first thing tomorrow. This is absolutely gorgeous and exactly what I was looking for. Don't suppose you have any drawings you'd share?
Thanks but no drawing, sorry.
@@AaronTurnwald No worries. How did you do the cantilever beams for the doors? Did you just laminate three 2x10s to the face of the beam?
@@Jcreek201 i do not remember. Will have to look next time im out there.
I've had trouble breaking teeth with a similar setter. Have you experienced that?
I didnt have any trouble breaking teeth. But have since move to a woodland mills tooth setter now.
I've resisted spending the money!@@AaronTurnwald
@@AaronTurnwald Why is that? Is it performance-related, or just takes too long to set by hand?
Really nice shed & Awesome to be able to build it with your Dad. Don't miss any opportunity's with him. I sure miss my Dad, we built a lot together too. God Bless
