It will work for only PS4 games for the time being. Playstation wants the internal ssd to be as fast as the current internal ssd. That's why the slot is disabled. It will eventually get an update to be turned on once Playstation finds a reliable ssd that works as fast as the current internal ssd

There's a controller charging dock that comes with some attachments that you plug into the controller that are much easier to just drop onto the charger , that's what I picked up and works great *Also prolongs life of ports on the controller
The PlayStation Plus releases have been great. It's nice to get both PS4 and PS5 monthly free games. Especially when the PS5 games were the big starter games they were pushing. I think they were games that implement cool new features that I would want to try, but aren't interesting enough to pay full price for. Playstation Now still sucks, but overall I'm really impressed by Sony. It seems like they might actually care about quality and reputation as much as money.

I haven't watched Austin's video but there's a catch for the internal M.2 drive upgrade in addition to waiting for the planned update: the drive has to be capable of 5 GB/s. When I first learnt of this I went to check the list specs of the various PCIe Gen 4 NVMe drives on the market and many of them are actually below that speed. With the advertised direct-storage-esque functionality of the SSD for both consoles, being able to meet that speed may be imperative for being acceptable to the system. Sony, at least according to the last I heard from Digital Foundry, will implement some kind of certification system to third-party drives. And they WILL be expensive, at least at the start.
I ordered my Ps5 and the Darkplates at the same time.....3 MONTHS AGO. I got the ps5 same day but the darkplates are now just shipping and will be here Saturday
The plates are nice I can’t wait until we have more options and they’re actually available. Another cheap option is to go with a sticker behind the cutout and on the led. I went with the classic ps logo color and a rainbow led. It’s pretty nice and cost like $15
Fun fact: Most retailers for the PS5 in Bangladesh are selling it at almost twice the price and somehow it’s still sold out. Luckily I got mine in the first month it came through.
I think he made a small mistake regarding the M.2 drive (though, someone is free to correct me if they've heard otherwise). When the firmware update arrives, you'll be able to put PS5 games on it, not just PS4 games. That's why the drive needs to have the same write speeds as the internal SSD already in the PS5, whereas any external drives don't have that requirement. Also it's worth noting that until that firmware update arrives, there is NO support for that m.2 drive at all. If you have one plugged in, it will show a message telling you to remove it and turn itself off. Mind you, Marques didn't actually say it would work, but his wording confused me a little bit and kiiiinda made it sound like it would work with PS4 games. So I looked into it just in case anyone else thought the same as me lol

The black decorative controller plate really is easy to remove, but start with the 2 parts at the end of the controller 👍🏻

Haven't had much trouble with the dual charger myself. Fairly easy to connect properly. That dock is pretty sick though
