Heya Austin, am I right in thinking that you were using PSVR2 with your glasses still on? How was the fit and comfort, did it work okay, great, meh? We have pretty similarly sized frames, so I'd love some feedback!
You have to make sure that your PS Portal is connected to your 5.0GHz connection!! It will automatically connect to your 2GHz connection! Thats half the issue right there!
How did you find using the PSVR2 with glasses, Austin? Was it comfy, any light leak issues, and more importantly did it work with your prescription? I'd lie it myself, but I have the above concerns, plus the $876 AUD price tag. By comparison, a new PS5 Slim disc edition is $799.99 AUD.
I'm not Austin, but I also have somewhat wide frames like he does and I had the same issue with the PSVR as I have with other headsets. The glasses fit, but they tend to either get pressed into your face or rub against the lenses. I think it's worth just getting prescription lens inserts to prevent any potential scratching

The new ps5 is not a 'slim'. I dont understand why people keep referring to it as such. Its just the new model of the ps5 because Sony is going to phase the old one out. Sony has never referred to their models as the slim. Go back and look on any box, any advertisement or press conference that Sony has held. Never once does the word slim come up. Its just a revision of the console.
@@rajdeepdas6157 And do you notice that the only place it says it is right under the PS5 models in tiny letters in parentheses. Do you know what parentheses are used for? That's the first time they have ever put the word slim on any of their consoles and it's just used as an _afterthought_, meaning it's unimportant information only used because people are to ignorant to look at the model number. Nowhere else on the PS5 console page does it say slim, it just says PS5. Go back and look at all the other PlayStation revisions and you won't find the word slim on any of them.

The PS portal is the best thing ever. Especially when im too lazy to go downstairs or something i can just cozy up in my bed and use it. I also like it has the cloud gaming features now.
I bought everything you did a PS5 but the disc drive version God of War edition, the PSVR2 Horizon edition on sale for $550 an Edge controller, as for a SSD Hard Drive I only got a 2tb SSD Hard Drive from Samsung since I prefer them over WD and it has the same performance specs. I didn't buy the camera since I have no use for it and I didn't buy the Playstation portal since I play on my Samsung S8 Ultra tablet and it won't fit in the Portal so I use my Edge controller instead. I didn't buy the Sony monitor either since I play on my 86" 4k UHD LG TV. In addition to the things you bought I also got black Darkplates with vent holes and an LED light fan kit that has a phone app to adjust it, plus I got the Playstation Pulse headphones and Pulse Explore earbuds and also a 3rd party 2 controller charger with blue LED lights and little LED controller icons on the front that turn from red to blue when the controllers are charged and I got one that would specifically work with the Edge controller, I also got a charger/stand for my PSVR2 headset and controllers, it charges the controllers with lights that turn from red to amber to blue to indicate charge level and it also acts as a stand that holds my PSVR2 headset on it as well. So all in all I spent around $2k on my PS5 setup about $1k less than you since I didn't buy a Sony monitor, Portal or camera. Of course that doesn't include the price of my TV or my JBL 9.1 Dolby Atmos soundbar, both of which I got on sale so the set me back around $3500 for both I believe. With my Xbox One X with 2tb add on Hard Drive, my super high end custom built computer and Gilikit KK3 Kingkong 3 Max controller that has back paddles like an Xbox One Elite controller but it only cost $80 instead of $180, plus it has magnetic hall effect analog sticks which have no moving parts so they never wear out or get stick drift, also it's styled like an Xbox One Elite controller however it will work with all platforms including Xbox One, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Windows computers, Android and iOS. Also I have my Samsung S8 Ultra which I can stream Xbox One and PS5 games on. With all that it's a totally killer setup and I freaking love it, it was worth every cent! It's hard to beat unless you also have an Xbox X and your stupid rich and can afford one of those 96" 8k OLED TVs that are like $25k!
The only thing official about the WD black is WD pays them money to put that logo on the drive. I went with SABRENT Rocket 4+ it has higher specs and tops out at 8tb which ps5 now supports and topped with an ElecGear heatsink/door.
The G Story screen is missing to make the PS5 portable if it is to make an Ultimate PS5 but I don't know if the current model will be compatible since it is for the fat only.

I'd have to think PSVR3 will lose the cable. Meta Quest 2 was able to do that. MQ3 improved the graphics a lot, but PSVR2 may still look even better.
@@XecularOfficial i understand why they did it but thats why people were not that into it because it was 550 dollars
@@normalface901 The PSVR2 has actually performed pretty well. It currently has the largest market share of any tethered VR headset
13:56 OH GAWD you telling me I wasted my MONEY 😆
I actually love my PS Portal. I also have 2G up and down fiber and a good mesh network. I do think it's priced $50 to high based on its limitations.
Weird that his portal is having these issue. Mine doesn’t do that. I wonder if his upload speeds suck.
For PS Portal to work well you could try changing a channel on your Wi-Fi router or use an auto Channel Finder feature like Linksys has. If the network is congested with too many devices you could experience stutters, as soon as I did this the Portal worked flawlessly ever since.
Sounds like too much additional work for a $200 device. They could've made it NOT having the buyers go through all of those length just to enjoy it properly. I mean, come on!
@@bhoqeem1975 I might have way too many devices connected to my WiFi router, but my Xbox wouldn’t connect to my WiFi at all until I updated the channels again. So I’m not sure if there’s anything they could do there to mitigate it - perhaps a dedicated protocol separate from WiFi, similar to what Wii U had…
How about this just DONT buy a ps portal. And deal with that bs
Try returning it.
@@bhoqeem1975 bro what😂 that literally takes like a minute to do
VR2 is amazing , bought it launch day
this is hands down a baller video and a feast of of video for play station officianado . Going PS Out on all and everything true ps experience just not light on my wallet lol
Great video austin
what is blud waffling about???
The PSVR2 actually looks interesting, not getting a PS5 just for that even if I could afford one, but looks cool
I think they knocked it out of the park with the design of the Portal. It’s really a shame they made it streaming only, I am just hoping it is a test run and if they do good they will make one with storage in the future.
even if it had storage tho it wouldnt be able to play the games natively because it doesnt have strong enough hardware to do so
I like mine a lot, as someone who is unable to make $$$ by playing games and working long hours for the hospital; going through family issues, and reintroducing fighting cats in a townhouse apartment.
It’s so nice to sit in my bed and play games without scraping performance or breaking my hands with those awful backbone addons that are already $100.
$99 more for something dedicated; doesn’t eat my phone battery or time which again need it free for work. It makes sense for me.
Always keep in mind what kind of person does “reviews” and why their opinion is ultimately worth a grain of salt; Austin is none of these things so his use case is different from mine where he sees flaw I see benefit.
Did the VR headset fit good with your glasses? I tried the Quest and it was too small because of my glasses.
I remember watching my first Austin Evans video which was "Building the Ultimate PS4". Fun to see something like this all these years later!
Already excited for the ultimate PS5 pro video at the end of the year
12:16 and knowing that just broke my heart!! I was so pumped to get my hands on the new PlayStation Portal, imagining that this could be the next biggest thing Sony would release to be the King of Handheld consoles the successor for the PS Vita. I was so patient and was saying to myself PS Vita 2 might be coming out at some point but what do you know - Sony just being Sony😣
they lost twice to nintendo DS/3DS, a now there is bigger competition w Stem Deck, Ally, Legion GO...
@14:13 I wonder if having a very high upload speed would help.
Nice to see you finally play the PSVR2, U gotta try RE7 or RE4 remake. Its amazing. Also the third party dual sense charging/docks are great.
You can't Play RE7 on PSVR2
16:47 should we tell him he’s not in the car? No? Just keep it to myself? Okay 😆
You forgot the remote
1:58 anywhere? i thought it would only work on the same network as the ps5
It brings me so much joy to finally hear a major tech tubber talking about the downsides of the PS portal from the perspective of your average gamer.
bots. seriously? he is that desperate??
@@Gaddafist23 I think being a bot is pretty hopeful. The more depressing answer is that it's a person who is very lonely and did what any human would do and formed a parasocial relationship at the nearest UA-cam personality.

Love my psvr2 have to agree with Gt7 and a wheel and shifter . Such an awesome experience. 👌👌👌
Dude sony has it on thier website.
@@rajdeepdas6157 And do you notice that the only place it says it is right under the PS5 models in tiny letters in parentheses. Do you know what parentheses are used for? A word, clause, or sentence inserted as an explanation or _afterthought_ into a passage that is grammatically complete without it.
I love reading the comments; it is a bunch of people saying they can’t afford this setup followed by 7 people saying “first”
He looks orange
He does not look orange. He looks white.
Funny thing is I have every product ypu showed but i have the edge controler and 9 sense controller with 4 docks to charge the xontrollers on. I also have the purple skins and everything is from sony no 3rd party. I also have the white and black headset. I have the camera also. Only thing i don't have is the portal and VR yet. My set up vost a bit more than yours lol
I'd just use the disc drive to download all your hard copy games onto the hard drive and then pull the disc drive off after lol. It does look pretty good how slim they are without it.
if you want to start the game you installed via disc, the disc needs to be in the disc drive to start.
@@BrokenJakob what? Lol I said download the game onto the hard drive. Once it's downloaded the disc doesn't need to be in there.
@@jeffomalley100 it does, it's just like the normal ps5 disc version. You download the game to your SSD from the disc and you need the disc to play the game
@@jeffomalley100 Yeah, I'm sure a multi million dollar video game company would somehow let that slip by. You don't 'download' games from the disc, you install them. The game still reads content from the disc regularly, not just for verification but also to minimize install footprint and optimize performance.
@@jawz69 wow that's crazy what's the point of downloading it then? Lol. Is the reg PS5 with the disc drive the same way?

i wish i could test the psvr2 so that i could know if i should buy one or not...
Has anyone else noticed after Austin installed the stand that it leans towards the disk drive side way to go sony on your cheap stand lol
I have the Elite Series 2, the DualSense Edge, and the GuliKit KK3 Max. The DS Edge is far and away my favorite.
Buy yourself a pair of Audeze Maxwell headphones for the PSVR2. It makes a world of difference
We hoping this would be some bonkers 3rd party accessory Frankenstein. Not just shilling the entire Playstation product line.
The only thing official about the WD black is WD pays them money to put that logo on the drive. I went with SABRENT Rocket 4+ it has higher specs and tops out at 8tb which ps5 now supports and topped with an ElecGear heatsink/door.
You need to do an updated review on the portal
The G Story screen is missing to make the PS5 portable if it is to make an Ultimate PS5 but I don't know if the current model will be compatible since it is for the fat only.
Resident evil 8 on PSVR2 is absolutely horrific in a good way.
I play GT 7 on weekly basis, that game is amazing in VR!
10:49 EA Sports. It’s In The Game 😂😂😂
I know it’s old but it would’ve been cool to see you use the old Sony play station 3d tv they used to make
That was a great tv and I actually still use it in my office. It was 1080p and 240 hz which still looks great even today.
would it be safer to put it horizontally? the liquid metal problem thingy...
I’m confused, I have been told that you should not put your PS5 on a stand because of the liquid metal and performance being affected, I bought the DXB multifunctional stand and have now removed it from the stand.
Hey can you add the link for where you bought the ssd and the heatsink and make a video on how to apply it
You selling that portal? It’s impossible to get right now.
Did you test playing Cloud games? I'm not completely sure on this but I remember reading that when playing Cloud games the Remoteplay isn't usable, so Portal -> PS5 -> Cloud shenanigans wouldn't even work
You know what you’re probably right it’s a bad idea even if it could work
Will we have an update to today's rest of ps5 equipment and accessories?
