the xtreme 3 charges in an hour less than the 2 so theres an improvement there. i also think 15 hours of battery life is very solid you could go 4 5 days without a charge
Bought it the other day the xtreame 3 its amazing and the rubber strips are great and the curve is perfectly stable actually makes a difference directing the sound towards the room and not a dead spot to the roof! Definitely recommend I'm a Sony guy only went for jbl on a whim because of a new sony speaker out box was locked in a firmware or software restart boot loop totally frozen up unable to perfect a factory reset etc first time ever seen it but it was the Google assist WiFi one! stay with Normal Bluetooth less agro n reliable!
The Quality in sound difference between the Extreme 2 & Extreme 3 are so subtle that it is negligible. I purchased 2 Extreme 2 speakers for $150.00 each in mint rarely used condition.
its called the xtreme because its built to be taken to the "xtremes" btw like the outdoors. jbl marketing speak of course. if it was named xtreme because of the sound then the boombox would be called the xtreme
Luckily those little improvements are close to exactly what I wanted in the new model. Definitely not worth 350, they need to dial it back to 300 or lower!
The JBL Xtreme 3 is very good. I got mine free through a new phone contract. Good bass and clear sound, but like all small speakers, it could always be louder. Comparisons are pointless. No one's going to play anything side by side at the point of sale nowadays. The price varies but it's usually £270 -£280. You can't buy anything with "dollars" in the UK.
Well, JBL sold 1 Million charge 4, and that s one million speakers who can t be connected to the xtrem 3. There is no reason bluetooth speakers from the same brand won t work together... expept hungry marketing...
Got my xtreme 2 for $200 and I think that's about the highest price it should be. Got a charge 4 for $100 and I love these 2 speakers when you link them. I'd definitely pick up another xtreme 2 for around $150 if I find it.
Uh, the point of it having a 15 hour battery life is so you don’t have to carry the brick around. I also think that the 3 sounds far more flat and strenuous on the ears compared to the more well rounded 2.
The xtreme 2 is dust n dirt n shock proof. Trust me with that I got 6 of em. And I use one of em at work on our dairy farm and it's been through alot lol. In mud , water , it's had raw cow milk dumped on it a few times. It's fell into alot of dust from feed its rolled off the top of the farm truck ect.. and it still looks amazing and sounds amazing no problem. Same with the charge 4s and my flips and my 3 boomboxs I got one original boombox gen 1 and two boombox 2s all of em are tough.. I collect em I got tons of jbl speakers from the originals to the new generation. My personal favorites are the xtreme 2 series the charge 5 flip 5s and flip 6s are good. The boom box 2 is amazing. Hell of em are good tbh. N as the xtreme 2 and xtreme 3 honestly I like the sound stage of the xtreme 2 over the 3rd generation xtreme. The look of the xtreme 3 I like better but honestly the xtreme 2 just sounds better. It's drivers are more beefy but that really don't mean much considering the xtreme 3 now has neo motor woofers which Honestly are more efficient.. and also not all the xtreme 2s sound the same either.... the GT xtreme 2 is the best one for bass... it gets lower n deeper than the PL version of the xtreme 2.. and it gets deeper n hits harder than the xtreme 3.. it's got better woofers than the others. Which is nice the GT is the rarest xtreme 2 there is iv only seen 2 in my entire life and I got two GT models and a few PLs and both the gt models hit harder. So it honestly depends on which version of the xtreme 2 you have...
Hello, in terms of sound quality, do you recommend the xtreme 3 or the party box 100. I know that one is more powerful than the other, but I would like to know which one has better definition or in which one I can better listen to my songs. (without taking into account the price, the difference in power and the size)
JBL Boombox is better imo, i have the JBL Xtreme, but it keeps turning on and off. But, luckily they're going to give me the Xtreme 2, cause they ran out of stock on the JBL Xtremes. But, my friend has the JBL Boombox and it sounds better

Just bought one yesterday and my first impressions after playing my "test track" was I was not impressed. The deep bass is totally lacking to the point where it makes the rest of the audio sound ultra loud and clear and bassless. For the money I spent ($420 after $40 rebate and $90 insurance) it doesn't seem worth it if the best parts of my music is missing and the rest sounds way too clean compared to the rest of the audio. It sure doesn't bump like other JBL products. Going to return it to the store and pick up something else. All in all not really worth the money in my opinion if it lacks low end to a point where it affects how the rest of the track sounds.
JBL made an update on the Charge 3 to adapt to connect plus... there is no reason to do the same with the charge 4 and party boost... the reality is that bluetooth speakers should just pair, the rest is ugly marketing. shame on JBL on this one, punishing the JBL lovers for upgrading... you can still connect it with dual connection on Samsung S20 or multi connection on your computer, thank you JBL for making it so complicate und unecological... what a waste, but there is a bolltle opener for you to drink and forget that. thank you for your very good review...
Uhm... Sony does the same thing with their XB43, 33 and 23? They can also not pair with all of the older devices, so... yeah... not great for us consumers, but I've tested the difference between Connect+ and Partyboost and Partyboost is way more stable and has a further range.
I don't have the Xtreme 3, I opted to save $150 and get the Xtreme 2 instead. I plan on replacing it with a Boombox 3 as soon as they go on sale, I know JBL is going to replace it any day now, but I digress, the price wasn't the only reason I picked up the Xtreme 2. That issue may only apply to me, but it was definitely a factor. I know the Xtreme 3 receives a power boost when plugged in, much like the Xtreme 2, but the charger that comes with it is apparently a charger that is no good at the 37-year-old factory I work at, I'm just going by what other people have told me, I usually do not buy an electronic product without asking around or watching many reviews on it. If you can get the Xtreme 3 for $250 or less, it is definitely the better buy because it has a better overall sound range, plus the wider Bluetooth compatibility and the USB-C convenience. Even with the Xtreme 2 at $200 right now, it would be worth the extra $50 to get the 3. If you are paying a single penny more than that, however, you are definitely better off getting the 2. @@JulleTime the jbl 3. might be a bit too late. also a different website did some testing, and the jbl 3 is not too good at media consumption because of the audio lacking behind the actual video. as he said the low bass is almost non existent, and the battery life is actually worse. it does charge faster, but would make sense since it apparently runs down faster than the 2. the connection distance is also worse. the only improvement is the eq, and the ip67 certification. other than that in my opinion it really isn't worth the price bump. and for specific music the tuning done by haarman makes the speaker in most scenarios sound worse than the 2. but there is an eq so it can be slightly fixed. thats about it

Listen you are not weak the charging mains adapter is light It's not heavy I have both of them the JBL 2 Is my favourite because of the weight It on the heavy side the Jbl 3 is ok just to light For me. But I downloaded the eq app So I can improve on the sound on both of them Get more bass and midrange and treble. Nice video like it but for Me I prefer the JBL 2.

So obviously I'm very late to the party, but for those that have it, I'm a mechanic and need a good speaker that is loud enough to actually hear when working in an environment where there 2-3 trucks running, pneumatic tools working, ect. Is this worth getting for that over the 2 or would it be worth just getting the 2 cheaper and faster? I loved the original xtreme and ended up kinda running it into the ground just by use so there's that factor too.
If you do the party boost thing with a speaker that isn’t connected to your phone as a Bluetooth device does that mean it wouldn’t do the party boost thing to the JBL speaker that is connected to your phone as a Bluetooth device
@@franzwolf2444 very close to it the xtreme 3 is 3rd then the onyx is 2nd then the boombox 2 bass is 1st 🥇👍🏼. But the xtreme 3 is more portable compare to onyx . Bass is good I use it with Apple Music
Awesome video and on the money. I've bought this and the Ultimate Ears Hyperboom, two speakers with very different sound signatures. Have you had a chance to check that out? What did you make of it?
Could you try Srhythm NC 35 pretty good budget anc headphones. Not as good as soundcore q30. Though things look awesome. In your opinion what are best headphones anc or not?
Pls can anyone help me? I have a problem with my jbl xtreme 3 GG version, the buttons are not working only start up button works. I can press the buttons but they are not reacting. I already tried restarting and factory restarting nothing works bcs the buttons won t work. Also i can t turn off the speaker i can only turn it on and conect to my phone. I can only turn off my speaker by pressing start up button 8times times and hold it for 10 secs. The speaker plays music and videos normally without problems. PLS I NEED HELP
Imo the soundcore boom + is the best at 1/3 the price or the rave neo at 1/3 the price. Btw thanks for the video! Bruh those JBL people don't like you. Don't worry though I like you ,😄 you make great videos ❤️
I've heard good things about the Boom, hoping to check it out soon. Soundcore are killing it as usual! I think this is the start of serious beef with JBL 😂
Hey Bro, how did you get the latest firmware update on your Jbl extreme 3? My jbl extreme 3 is currently on firmware version 0.1.3. I am using the updated JBL connect app but no update notification.
$ 300 is a lot of money, not that much money. I have a Dockin D Fine Plus speaker, it was $ 125 on Black Friday with delivery from a German Amazon. There are also much better deals on the market, such as the Anker Motion Boom.
I just got my JBL XTREME 2 at $166.45 massive sale from our local mall (SM APPLIANCE Philippines). And damn thia is my 1st JBL product and I loved it so much. I hope I can get the JBL go 3 also cuz JBL put it as a freebie when you register it on their site. Products are JBL flip 5,Charge 4 Xtreme 2, Boombox and party box 100 start's at December 1 up to December 31.
Yeah i Bought the Anker Soundcore Motion + last summer and returned both that and JBL charge 4. Charge 4 lacked middle range and sounded like a party in the next room. The Anker had horrible 2k-4k frequency range my fkn ears started ringing after 10minutea with the speaker only at 40%. Not even lowering the Treble with an EQ app helped either. The tweeters juust screeches horribly. A friend had a Harman Kardon Onyx 5 at a trip last weekend, only BT speaker I've heard that sounded like a normal speaker
i got extreme 123!!!! i got both 2 and 3 for sale keep my 1 for now. jbl just got overpriced!! so many better speakers out for less and louder! w king, soundcore, ect. i used to be hardcore jbl for years.but then again? i work with some bigger jbl systems in big arenas! since harmon/kardon got involved? just overdone with jbl marketing. but i do like the jbl partyline series! great review!
I’ve owned all the xtremes the 3 definitely has the best sound quality but it very much lacking in the bass department it doesn’t thump that much harder then my charge 5😂 the quality of the audio though is verry good
Honestly ita very very noticable that the xtreme 3 gets way deeper and i can hear the thumping bass way more. With the xtreme 3 i can actually hear booms on the other side of my room

Playing this sound test actually through a jbl xtreame 3 it don't sound anything like what a normal music video or playlist song would be never find these tests reliable unless using a Binaural mic
Binaural is not reliable indoors. Because it captures room reflections. And you do not live in the room where the sound was recorded. Which means it doesn't sound the same in your house. Binaural only works outside

@@JulleTime the jbl 3. might be a bit too late. also a different website did some testing, and the jbl 3 is not too good at media consumption because of the audio lacking behind the actual video. as he said the low bass is almost non existent, and the battery life is actually worse. it does charge faster, but would make sense since it apparently runs down faster than the 2. the connection distance is also worse. the only improvement is the eq, and the ip67 certification. other than that in my opinion it really isn't worth the price bump. and for specific music the tuning done by haarman makes the speaker in most scenarios sound worse than the 2. but there is an eq so it can be slightly fixed. thats about it
What did you end up getting
@@jesse0M i bought the 3 a little bit ago. i take my statement back. with the firmware updates they have released it is better than the second. but it isn't the biggest upgrade if you have the 2. i only bought it because my charge port for 2 said goodnight. but honestly it depends. if you have the 2, not the best investment. if you don't then its not a bad choice
bass: xtreme 2 mid: xtreme 3 treble: xtreme 3 final volume/peak: xtreme 3. db/spl/peak: xtreme 3 (105.3db) xtreme 2: (101.9db)
What bloetooth speaker wold you recomend that has bruttal bass? Sry for bad english😂🇭🇷🇭🇷🇭🇷
Pajdo ni ja ga nista ne kontam
Listen you are not weak the charging mains adapter is light
It's not heavy I have both of them the JBL 2
Is my favourite because of the weight
It on the heavy side the
Jbl 3 is ok just to light
For me. But I downloaded the eq app
So I can improve on the sound on both of them
Get more bass and midrange and treble.
Nice video like it but for
Me I prefer the JBL 2.
got the original boombox for 299 total off Amazon im satisfied 😆
o yeah...boombox rulzz

How can you not know how to use a beer opener?
So obviously I'm very late to the party, but for those that have it, I'm a mechanic and need a good speaker that is loud enough to actually hear when working in an environment where there 2-3 trucks running, pneumatic tools working, ect. Is this worth getting for that over the 2 or would it be worth just getting the 2 cheaper and faster? I loved the original xtreme and ended up kinda running it into the ground just by use so there's that factor too.
1 was louder than 2. 3 should be louder than 2 based on hardware. So if 1 was good for you, 3 definitely would.
Where can I buy the extreme 3? Can’t find one anywhere
JBL's app just added a three band graphic equalizer.
If you do the party boost thing with a speaker that isn’t connected to your phone as a Bluetooth device does that mean it wouldn’t do the party boost thing to the JBL speaker that is connected to your phone as a Bluetooth device
The bold branding of the extreme 3 makes you think the sound is way more superior in volume then it really is...
I love my xtreme 3 returned my xtreme 2 which I got for $150 got the xtreme 3 on sale for $315 on Jbl Black Friday website
Dang. I have the 2 and love it. The 3 must be the tops.
A baby upgrade kinda like a iPhone 11 Pro to the 12 pro not much bought I do love the usb C & it’s lighter
You shouldn't mention the word BLACK, have to be careful these days.
The bass is goodn xtreme 3??? Like a harman kardon onyx 4?
@@franzwolf2444 very close to it the xtreme 3 is 3rd then the onyx is 2nd then the boombox 2 bass is 1st 🥇👍🏼. But the xtreme 3 is more portable compare to onyx . Bass is good I use it with Apple Music
which is better option for price?
Which is better xb43 or x3??fortget about the price sir.
the 1.8 firmware update for the soundcore q30 have improved the mic quality just to let you know if you didnt already know
Thanks for the heads up - had no idea! I rely on you guys to keep me informed 🔥
Hey Bro, how did you get the latest firmware update on your Jbl extreme 3? My jbl extreme 3 is currently on firmware version 0.1.3. I am using the updated JBL connect app but no update notification.
Have you do a video for the speaker from zealot?
$ 300 is a lot of money, not that much money.
I have a Dockin D Fine Plus speaker, it was $ 125 on Black Friday with delivery from a German Amazon.
There are also much better deals on the market, such as the Anker Motion Boom.
Did you actually start the video by using a bottle opener in the wrong way. Completely opposite to how it's to be used?!? 🤣
Bottle opener upside down 🤦♂️
I just got my JBL XTREME 2 at $166.45 massive sale from our local mall (SM APPLIANCE Philippines).
I got mine on lazada for 8,999 php
The best speaker I have ever owned, and never ever noticed any distortion is Sonos play5... Nothing compares.
how did you miss aux input ... not a very detail oriented review
how can i turn on the bass in jbl xtreme 3.i feel it have very weak bass
Ordered an extreme 3 for 182 euro today :)
What country?
Would love to see a comparison video of the jbl xtreme 3 and the soundcore motion +
🤞😁
Yeah i Bought the Anker Soundcore Motion + last summer and returned both that and JBL charge 4.
Charge 4 lacked middle range and sounded like a party in the next room.
The Anker had horrible 2k-4k frequency range my fkn ears started ringing after 10minutea with the speaker only at 40%. Not even lowering the Treble with an EQ app helped either. The tweeters juust screeches horribly.
A friend had a Harman Kardon Onyx 5 at a trip last weekend, only BT speaker I've heard that sounded like a normal speaker
Note never buy anything because aventualy there will always be a updated version in the future 🤔
They know damn well who they're marketing to with that bottle opener 😭😭
JBL Xtreme 3 vs JBL Charge 4 please
You used the beer opener upside down.
i got extreme 123!!!! i got both 2 and 3 for sale keep my 1 for now. jbl just got overpriced!! so many better speakers out for less and louder! w king, soundcore, ect. i used to be hardcore jbl for years.but then again? i work with some bigger jbl systems in big arenas! since harmon/kardon got involved? just overdone with jbl marketing. but i do like the jbl partyline series! great review!
That DVD screen saver pisses me off. Why is it only diagonal? It should bounce around everywhere!

The EXTREME 2 which I have has more BASS and more pleasant to the ear..the better speaker
Great review!
Thanks Al!
First time opening a beer 🍺 wtf 🤯🤯🤯😂
Hahaa
Its a jbl. Considering its serviceability it'll last forever if taken care of. Another reason for the price premium.
you used the bottle opener wrong 😂
Power, 50w?
50W plugged in
30W battery
U used the bottle opener the wrong side…
I heard you can adjust the bass on the JBL app with this new Extreme 3. Hopefully that helps? Has anyone tried it? And dose it improve the bass?
It only helps for low volumes. The EQ doesn't add more bass at higher volumes
0:00 that’s the wrong way to use the opener
Can you connect two jbl extreme 2 together
Yes
How is 2,5 hours for fully charged ”long time” 2,5 hours is fast in my opinion!
Could compare this to the iLoud 40W?
I'm getting the jbl charge 6 in 2023 or 2024 or in getting a speaker in 2022 for $100
But will they have a sick bottle opener?
Obviously you don't drink... the bottle opener needs to be used the other way around
Not worth the price though a fair price for the extremes should be like $250 or $200
I would still would buy the boombox in my country for 300 euro and yes i got it for so low
Worst part about the xtreme 3: powerful at 60% vol or over
Me: constantly has it at 100% vol
Are we gonna ignore that it hit the corner at 0:46
Yes? And what? The dvd logo screensaver always hits two corners back and forth
Lol dude flip the bottle opener the other way. Lol it’s shaped that way to create a fulcrum in the center of the bottle cap.
Hey bro, can u show firmware of x3 in the jbl connect for me pls
plz review the much better value for money, the soundcore rave neo 🙏🏻
Bought mine for 230 dollars.. so its very nice for its price
I don't think Xtreme 3 is worth 375
Compare with sony srs xb43
It isnt worth an upgrade.
If price is same i wont mind buying extreme 3 but dammnn hell too much price difference 🤕🤕🤮
Its more like cosmetic update 👎
liked the review and the was so helpful to change my mind from xtreme 2 to xtreme 3
You don't really open many beer bottles do ya, bro?
The dvd logo is the only thing I cared about to bad it’s fake😭
Are you from the states or Europe?
I'm from the UK in Europe. A huge percentage of my viewers are from the US, hence why I always talk in dollars 💰
@@mrkwd okay cool. Love the video. 👍
