"Why would someone ever want to listen to music without bass?" Not every session is about trying to be a nightclub. Lots of people live in apartments, with others, etc., and if they can use it to listen to music more quietly, without disturbing too many people around, that's a plus. You can activate more bass when needed. I think this adds versatility and is a pro in my opinion.
The design of this speaker is the only reason why I have gravitated to purchasing it. I think it's the best design i've ever seen in a bluetooth speaker.
@@ne0nle0n25 It's actually limited by the SBC bluetooth audio codec that uses, maximum 328 kbps with a sampling rate of 44.1kHz is possible. Of course it would be better if it'd used Aptx codec like Motion+ does or even better an LDAC codec like its flagship TWS earbuds does, liberty 3 pro's.

Bought mine a couple weeks or so ago and I’m absolutely sold on the Soundcore brand now. This speaker sounds and looks excellent. I like it a lot better than my old JBL and the bass is insane. Plus the custom EQ makes the mids and highs shine a lot more. That said, rap, funk, IDM, etc are my main genres of music.
The JBL might connect with 100 other speakers but they'll all play mono. The motion does tws . Real stereo . A far more desirable feature than the useless party connect . C'mon , that's a pretty bad call.
Thanks for the great review. Just FYI, I also use the Motion Boom at home as a hands-free conference speaker (courtesy of lockdown). Built in mic works just fine. Other key difference between Soundcore & JBL is that Soundcore is a true wireless performer...in that it plays the same whether on battery or on charge. JBL range gets louder when run off mains power. Greetings from South Africa! 🇿🇦
Exactly this is the reason, why the "bass-off" button is so good. Also I really don' think you need such an V-shape equalizer, to make the speaker sound good. But as said, it's all personal taste.

Lack of bass is the greatest problem with these small speakers so it's good to hear that this one has it. A long battery life is important too if you want to keep it for more than a year or two. The codecs matter less.
I chose this over the motion plus mostly because of battery life. motion Plus definitely sounded a little better and had a little less latency but they both sounded very close. And the boom has triple the battery life.
For some reason my ears just can't accept bass, I received my motion plus today and I soo prefer the brighter sound on my tribit Maxsoundplus plus. I guess based on the bassy sound profile of the boom, I'll skip it.
My Motion Plus plays for 7 hours at max volume (custom eq with more decibels than default eq), my Motion Boom is on it's way to my country, so i'll check that triple battery life you mentioned, i don't think it be triple, actually i don't think it last longer than the Plus, but i wish it did Edit-update: Battery is better in Motion Boom xD
After watching several reviews on this speaker I agree that it is just missing the clarity and crisp sound that the a motion plus has. Hopefully they may consider adding them to create a brighter upfront sound in addition to the great bass. Value for dollar it can’t be beaten.
Motion boom is also lacking Aptx bluetooth audio codec which allows to get a better audio clarity(higher bandwidth via Bluetooth) and also using Aptx will drastically reduce latency when watching videos o movies with it, having 2 dedicated tweeters is also a must for my trained ear, Aux-in and USB charging are also missing.
There are many negative reviews about this online where the complaint is that if you use it outdoors when it's hot, the interior heats up and the passive radiators bulge out and the sound becomes horrible. I was going to buy one of these until I read those reviews, as using it outdoors in the summer is one of the main reasons I'd want it.
The speaker and by extension this brand could never replace JBL as my go-to Bluetooth speaker brand, I've been sold by them too many times. That being said, I picked this one up as my go-to backup because it is an excellent speaker, especially considering the price, I paid $89.99 for it. For that price, it has fantastic sound, excellent build quality, and great battery life compared to anything else in its price range. Honestly, in my most humble opinion, if you can't afford a brand like JBL or Bose, this would be the speaker I would recommend, it is literally the best value I have ever seen in a Bluetooth speaker.
I've been looking at this speaker for while I like the sound that it pushes out but the design is not the best looking they should have dropped the handle great review as always my man.
I've had mine for two weeks now. I'm looking into sticking some neoprene pads on it or something, because any cracks or nicks on that inexpensive plastic and its waterproofness goes down the drain. Seeing as it's not clad in fabric or rubberized at all, the handle makes handling it feel MUCH safer. That and the fact it's so light means it becomes something you want to carry and lay down where you want, when you want to, indoors or outdoors, instead of something that you find a "place" for and keep it there. i.e., it feels like a boombox instead of a piece of hi-fi equipment, as it should.
