I just picked up one of these today, and the sound quality is straight up legit. Gets plenty loud as well. It's obviously not on the same level as the boombox 3, but it wins the day on size and portability. The boombox 3 is an absolute beast, but it's BIG. A bit too big for my application. The space I have on the top of my toolbox at work is a bit limited, so I went with the xtreme 3 due to said constraints. That little box is a banger. No regrets on the purchase whatsoever. Good sound quality, respectable bass output, and doesn't take up a ton of room. If you're looking for a good combination of sound quality, portability, and compactness in a bluetooth speaker, this is it.

I have the extreme 1 and I love it. Last year I was thinking on upgrade it for the extreme 2 but I got a little disappointed with the extreme 2. Three years later I still in love with my jbl extreme.
Got the Xtreme 3 today as I was looking for a nice portable speaker for the garage when working on the cars or backyard for a cookout, etc and I love the overall sound quality. There’s a low frequency mode you didn’t mention with the xtreme 3 that turns up the bass a bit but increases the overall vocals as well. In my opinion, no the bass isn’t wall shaking, that’s what my two 12s are for in my truck, but besides the portability, the crisp vocals, nice highs and mids of the xtreme 3 make the speaker worth saving the $100+tax. It’s definitely loud!

I’m a bit late but i picked up a xtreme 3 in blue a month ago and it’s a beast especially when i partyboost it with my 5 other jbls. To me it’s a major major major go.
Got mine as a refurb from Amazon for $150. Very happy with sound quality and loudness on my jet ski is ample. My only dislikes are the on/off button is hard to know if you are depressing is until you feel it kinda click. The on/off button surface area is larger than the actual switch underneath. And in daylight its impossible to know if it's on or off as the switch backlight isn't apparent. Last, the battery level indicator is..almost non-existent. When you turn it on it gives a charge level on LED strip but momentary and i have no real idea what it represents for charge.

Thats his table he uses when he outside doin reviews. When he does boomboxes and such, he always does em inside so you can hear the full effect of the music. Both his upstairs and his party room are sound proofed so you get the best representation of the sound

I have a braven xxl2 for 250. I would much rather have this behemoth than a extreme 3. Over time the battery gets worse, but it’s a 20 pound boombox with super powerful bass. The bravenxxl2 isn’t better than the JBL boombox, but certainly better than this especially for the price.
Extreme 3 right now here in the Philippines is about 300 bucks, and boombox 2 at 350. I would want the better sound but portibility is important to bring around the islands.
I just got Charge 5 a few days ago and it's awesome. Perfect for my home gym and bbq with my friends at my pool. Xtreme 3 is at some discount and is $240 now. I am thinking of buying it too but I don't know if there is a huge difference in sound from my Charge 5 and is there even a point in buying it? Xtreme 4 is $380, that's too much..
Listening with my AirPod pro is just another level.. I am glad to have the jbl xtreme 3 as well…dark blue tho.. it rocks my 12 promax and my iwatch6 44mm bad…

If you hold the Bluetooth button and volume down at the same time for 10 seconds it activates more bass deep try it.
