Seriously, the fact that her child escaped and was found with duct tape on his body is all you need to know that these two ladies are monsters. And the fact that they want to bring God into their sick message is sick. Stop bringing God into your sick message. God is not sick. This proves that the word is not sick but the messenger. It's just so incredibly gross to me that she uses a concept that most people associate with goodness and yearning for self improvement to do such horrible things to children and then claims that the God most of us hold to be pure, loving, and all wise actually wants her to do those things. It's such a twisted take on love, totally incompatible with the modern interpretation of Jesus or the Father, even in the LDS theological constructs about child rearing.

I didn't know who these people were until a week ago, but I saw on another video a clip of when the husband and wife sent their oldest son (Chad?) to a "wilderness camp" for some undisclosed behavior. I believe that would be the child she's referring to, but I can't say I believe one way or the other the validity of her claim. If one of the kids did molest other children, a "wilderness camp" is a woefully inadequate response, but given her bizarre beliefs, mistreatment of her kids, and skewed reality there's probably an equal chance that nothing of the sort really happened. One way or the other, I hope the truth comes out about this disturbing accusation.

And at the custody hearing one kid was specifically put in a home without any other kids. (out of an abundance of caution)

Allegedly, Jodi was heavily endorsed by the LDS mental health services and Bishops routinely referred members to her counselling services. Bishops are encouraged to refer members to church approved mental health professionals. To say it’s too early to say if the religion played a part is laughable. It did. It is complicit in continually putting members at risk even though she was suspended for an “inappropriate relationship” with one of her client’s wives as well as breaching privacy. Please note that she breached his privacy to the church owned and operated university.
Edit: Note that an “inappropriate relationship” in regards to a therapist is not just a romantic relationship. It is also inappropriate to exert undue influence and becoming involved in a client’s life outside of the confines of therapy sessions. Jodi’s business partnership with Ruby was highly unethical because she had also been Ruby’s oldest son’s therapist.

Jodi is describing managing behaviors that many adults have problems managing. Children need to be taught in age appropriate ways designed for their abilities. Were the children alone and locked in the house? OMG! What if there’s a fire??? How irresponsible and dangerous! 12 years old is too young to be left alone fending for themselves. Let alone with a 10 year old. This is absolutely shocking. What about school? Their mom was four hours away? Shocking! Get these women convicted and put in jail for a long, long time. PLEASE.

Mormonism is rotten to the core and I'm tired of people tip toeing around it.
All religion is destructive and hurts so many people, but mormonism takes it to a whole nother level.
And to anyone commenting that, "I'm a (insert whatever religious label) and I am NOT like this blah blah no true Scotsman"...congrats, that just means you're a decent, normal person. Good people are good and church has nothing to do with it.
If the only thing making you act decent or stopping you from treating people like garbage or hurting people is a religion threatening to send you to a bad place eternally....boy do I have some bad news for you !

For malnourishment to happen, that takes time. It’s been going on for awhile.
To add, I belong to the same church, and it breaks my heart when I see other members like them using some our beliefs in such a way. They’ve been mingling pieces of our true beliefs with their ideology.
My question is about the Dad. Was he aware of this? Was Ruby keeping the kids from him? I’d like to know about where he’s been throughout all of this.

@@lindsaymiller6361 Hmm yeah, most likely. He did move out over a year ago and that’s when things got really bad with the kids according to neighbors. He was the only person in the way of things going to the next level. Once he was gone, the kids were fair game to her it seems, there was no one in the home left to protect them. Seems the neighbors were concerned and tried stepping in where possible, which is likely why she and the kids moved to Judy’s house ? Now, no one really knows where they are and cannot see what is happening to them. I mean, Judy’s house looks like it was a somewhat hidden little fortress. Those poor kids! I think a lot of damage has been done, especially to the younger ones who were still at home.

Feeling guilt is part of being a parent. Learning to forgive ourselves and know we did the best, with the knowledge we had at the time, for what was going on at that time, is how we get past the guilt and learn from it. But we always feel guilt. That's what modifies our behaviour, its called having a conscience.

Being a "personal" coach or "life" coach is HUGE here in Utah. Everyone thinks they are an expert to tell others how to live. Research that. It's very prominent in the Mormon religion. I'm not trying to be rude to Mormons. I've just lived here all my life and know. The verbiage/ words both Jodi and Ruby use are also very common. "Live your truth, humble, institution". What angers me the most is these supposed "coaches" use God to portray themselves different than they actually are. It seems as if Jodi has used her title as a therapist as a tool for power and control.
