First it's not a house but a mansion. Like a boat , yacht, luxurious vessel. It's befitting a high profile individuals like professional athletes and recording artists and performers like actors.
Jodi’s evil. To me, there should never be a question of parole. The evidence shows that Jodi and Ruby both pre-meditatively tortured those kids by severe beatings, malnourishment, and dehydration, as well as subjecting them to gaslighting and psychological trauma. Those kids are lucky to be alive. If this foul treatment had continued, at least one of them, perhaps all of those kids, would certainly have died. From reports I’ve heard, some coming from her own relatives, Jodi has been playing these physically and psychologically abusive “games” for decades. Jodi should never see the light of day again, and neither Ruby nor Kevin should be allowed custody of those kids. All of the Franke children deserve a new, safe home after what they’ve been through.
The way Jodie told the police when asked to open the safe door she replied “I havent opened that for years and I have lived here for 7yrs and not been in there” what she didnt realize is Rubys son had already told police he had been locked up in there and the police were collecting evidence, this woman is pure evil as who has a safe with a bed and toilet inside so she obviously from the beginning knew what she was using that room for, I am so glad she and Ruby are both locked up now themselves in a room the size of that safe, lets hope they are locked up for a very long time

I hope that Jodi is sued for compensation for the torture she put these kids through. That house is worth a lot of money, it should be sold and the money split between Jodi's victims (which could mean others, not just the Franke kids). Ruby and Kevin also deserve to be dragged through a civil suit for compensation, as well.
Jodi did that to a lot of clients, pitching the wife against the husband. I've seen an interview with one husband saying this was systematic, and he's lost his whole family due to the therapist that was supposed to help them in a marriage crisis. Lots of manipulating, blaming and shaming tactics.

Specially not with a giant lock on the outside. That thing is in the garage because it has to sit right on the house foundation - the floors wouldn’t even support that door.

Contractors all over the US build these all the time, this is a small one. Some have bunk beds, and fully functional small houses in them. They are installed daily and Liberty is only one manufacturer of them, there is dozens of manufacturers of vault/safe room doors.

Parts of the house were mostly empty because Jodi and Ruby had been packing things up in preparation to move to remote Arizona. It’s explained in Ruby’s journal.
The main thing NOW I think most want to know is how life is for them NOW. We've had reports like this so many times but I want to know how things are NOW, present day situation.
This was like a jail. How is it to keep someone safe if it requires another person to let them out. If they lock them in there it's not a safe room for her to hide out, it's for her to put someone in.
well, with respect, the lives of the victims going forwaard are none of our business. However I understand your concern. All four of the minor Franke children are in foster care, they have gained weight and are interacting with the people in their lives. Reportedly they are 'light years better' than they were, but still, naturally, not great. Hope that helps.
I’m curious what the neighbor meant on the 911 call when he said “we know there’s been problems at this house” (referring to Jodi’s house). Has anyone done record requests to see if there were other people calling in reports about thjngs going on there?
If you listen to the part where the Police Officer ask's her for the code to get into that safe room, Jodi panic's & tells the officer she doesn't have the code because she hasn't used it in 6 years! She said, she would have to call somebody to get the code to unlock it! So, she lied to the officer because she hid the evidence in there & she thought he'd never be able to go in there! Someone else said she knew she would be in trouble as soon as she realized the boy was gone! I'm so happy the little boy was brave enough to escape & find help! I don't think he would have survived much longer! Then, I heard that Jodi & Ruby were looking for land in the desert to buy. Were they going to bury the children in the desert? Jodi knew she was slowly killing those children... how Ruby went along with all of it is beyond comprehension! I really hope these women serve the full 60 years for what they have done to those children!
@@galeabernathy3921 Yeah I looked into it, though a 60 year sentence would be the maximum on 4 consecutive counts, Utah law limits the maximum sentence in cases like these to 30 years :( Seems the law needs to be changed.
I’ll never forget the phone call that older gentleman made to 911 on that poor boy. The tears he held back: I broke. When the EMS worker began to cry: I broke. I believe the entire world broke as well. However, it was the bruised and battered boy who hadn’t broke. He saved the day & started the healing process for his family, for the countless other victims, for the world and I pray, for himself. I’ll always believe him to be a hero.
CPS has received and "investigated" multiple reports by the grown-up kids and other concerned people but concluded each time that everything was nice and dandy. They need to be investigated too.
I haven’t seen any one address the statement the 911 caller made, that there had been “problems with this neighbor…” (something like that). Also, did anyone catch Jodi’s lawyer say something to the effect that she lied, when she was on the phone with him?
The saddest observation: to my knowledge, there have been no recorded/written moments of RIBY EVER asking/inquiring/showing any concern about the condition of her children....I hope I NEVER understand this style of Motherhood or "faith"......Thankful for the children they no longer need to endure this type of treatment.
I don’t think they thought the “jail/vault” room was enough torture for the children. It might have been used at first but R was left outside in August heat. Plus he ran away once before.
I hope all of the kids are given the chance to tell their stories. I hope they get all the help they need and know that what they went through isn’t normal.
Every time I hear the 911 call or the people comforting "E" in the closet, I cry. I'm a True Crime buff, but this case is impossible for anyone to follow without personally feeling the agony of the children.
Ruby, should do the most time. Those were her kids. She had more of a responsibility than Jody to take care of them. Ruby will probably only do four years and Jodi will do 10 or 15.
Ya it’s funny to me she blames Jodi…. How would that arrogant pos have reacted if one of her kids got in trouble and blamed someone else for their choices? She woulda flipped!!!! No accountability ms Ruby!!!!!
The room was originally a vault with a Safe door. Naturally it would be refered to as a "safe room' in the house, (A place to lock up valuables) but not to be confused with a "Safe-room' as one might think of in a case of emergency. Sadly, rather than being used for its natural purpose as a vault with a Safe door, it was re-fitted as a jail-type room, meant for long-term occupancy. Instead of locking up valuables..it was used to lock up children. Children ARE more valuable than anything else, but that was NOT the 'valuables' that room was originally intended for. It's poetic justice that Jody and Franke are now locked in such a room! For many..many more years hopefully!
This would also make sense as a “panic room” or whatever they call it where tou could hide in case of home invasion till police arrives but again door is opened from outside so clearly not… only reason someone would make a living space that cant be opened from inside but only from the outside is to trap someone in for long periods of time
The fact that Jody had this vault converted into a prison in her home just goes to show u how sick & twisted her mind was and that vault was converted long before she met the franke family
11:08 I'm thinking she didn't get rid of evidence in the vault/cell before the cops arrived for one simple reason: she thought she'd have time to get rid of it later. I mean, look at how she reacts to the cops yanking her outside and beginning the search of her property. "Woah woah woah!" "Do you have a warrant?" She thought both she and the vault/cell were untouchable without a warrant or some other court process first. She thought she'd have time to dispose of the problem items later. She thought she'd be able to, for lack of a better term, 'order' the cops away until they got approval from a higher authority than her. And if they couldn't get into her house, then the evidence would be hers to tamper with, destroy, or dispose of as she saw fit. The raid and the arrest caught her completely off-guard.

It was a torture chamber!
The big empty house is so creepy
It reminds me of the backrooms or Heaven from GTA San Andreas

LIFE with zero chance of parole, end of story
Mother, too
Jodi’s evil.
LIFE.
Bless those children. That brave boy. Sending lots of strength.
The way Jodie told the police when asked to open the safe door she replied “I havent opened that for years and I have lived here for 7yrs and not been in there” what she didnt realize is Rubys son had already told police he had been locked up in there and the police were collecting evidence, this woman is pure evil as who has a safe with a bed and toilet inside so she obviously from the beginning knew what she was using that room for, I am so glad she and Ruby are both locked up now themselves in a room the size of that safe, lets hope they are locked up for a very long time
Small correction: The duct tape was not for shackling, it was to cover the wounds & hold the honey/cayenne "salve" in place. He was shackled with actual cuffs which he picked
Wow that’s almost worse
I'm all for an eye for an eye on this one. Actually, make it 10x worse because those were little innocent poor kids that these monsters were supposed to protect.
I wish the state prison could treat them as they did their children.
It’s possible it’s not actually her own hime, but ine she has blagged / scammed off some other family. Just a thought.
Jodi did that to a lot of clients, pitching the wife against the husband. I've seen an interview with one husband saying this was systematic, and he's lost his whole family due to the therapist that was supposed to help them in a marriage crisis. Lots of manipulating, blaming and shaming tactics.
She’s actually been ordered to pay compensation. The sale of that house will go to the kids hopefully.
You will never convince me the dad didn't know what was going on.
I dunno... Ruby was being very underhanded with him.
Allegedly the dad was guilt tripped into working on his "issues" to not affect the family and wasn't allowed to see the children for over 12 months. The two monsters were "caring" for the children in his absence.
edit: after learning more about the dad and his lack of concern I'm disgusted. He's not fit to be a father at all.
It’s obvious in the interview with Kevin that he did not give two sh-ts about the children.
@@EvonRomano-ge2og He wanted the two younger ones who were tortured. Ruby didn't want any more children after they had four. I think she's proved that.
@edmboi But as a father, how do you go 12 months without seeing your kids? He never even asked about them in the interview.
They could have locked her up years ago, when her niece was her victim……… The system failed .

Yes
She also lied about having access to the vault, i thought. She made a big deal saying it wasnt on the top of her list to have it opened 😅
I think the safe room was empty because they were already packing up for the planned move to Arizona. The whole house looks basically packed up except for big furniture items and a painting. I think they made a big push to be ready to roll as soon as they had a new property because Russell had already made one escape, which terrified them, per Ruby's journal.
Where'd you read that? She hadn't even bought another house yet. She'd just started looking.

Yes. One of the properties had 500 acres. By the end of the journal Ruby said Jodi had sent her a text that she had a property. Then there is an entry about Ruby and Pam moving 20 boxes into storage, so I'm guessing that was Ruby packing up. But Jodi would have been packing up simultaneously. Knowing Jodi and Ruby, probably another mormon from their church.
Contractors all over the US build these all the time, this is a small one. Some have bunk beds, and fully functional small houses in them. Nothing is suspicious about building a safe room, with a Liberty Vault door and the number of other manufacturers that make safe room/vault doors for residential homes.

well, with respect, the lives of the victims going forwaard are none of our business.

Zero suppiles in a safe room? No food, extra toilet paper, just rope and cuffs. That was no safe room, that was a jail cell 😢
