Disc brakes are the best for all cycling; MTB, road, track, everything. There's a reason we use disc (rotor) brakes on cars and trucks too. It's kinetically much more efficient to apply braking pressure closer to the center of the rotating object (the tire) than the very outside of it.
@OrdnanceTV rotor rub, heavier, lock ups too much power for a 25mm tire vs rim, less areo, disc's wheels need more spokes, slower wheel changes so on. Honestly for road rim brake for tge win in my opinion but I'm interested to know why you like disc's for road?

issues with disc brakes are usually poor setup and maintenance related. Clean the rotors with a solvent, like isopropyl, make sure they are true, make sure the rotor is running dead centre to your caliper, like dead perfect centre, (if the caliper moves while tightening bolts, use a greased washer between the bolt head and the caliper), and finally, make sure your pads are clean and not glazed. clean them with alcohol and sand them flat a bit. or replace them.
