    I put a half a scoop of vanilla protein powder in and 2/3 tablespoons of coconut oil and 2/3 tablespoon of grass fed butter and I love it. Also, use a digital food scale. Estimating butter and oil has a huge margin for error.

    I prefer coffee black but just in case I want to try this recipe, how do you make butter eat grass?

    • @ButOneThingIsNeedful
      @ButOneThingIsNeedful 8 років тому +64

      Start out by feeding it small quantities, a few blades at a time. Then, once it becomes accustomed to this diet you can simply leave a fresh-cut grass bundle nearby and the butter will feed itself on it without any coaxing necessary.

    Didn't realize this was 7 years ago, but anyway in case you didn't know, you can add heavy cream to this concoction (about 1/4 cup) and maybe a packet of stevia for sweetness (I just use sweet & Low) and it will taste better.

  • @Atkrdu
    @Atkrdu 9 років тому +2

    You can try honey (particularly raw) & cinnamon in it. Works good on bread or on its own, plus it side-steps the sugar issue. Heard some things about different "sugars" having different effects, so yeah- it seems to have some sugar of some form in it, but it doesn't have the effect of white sugar.

    2 cups of coffee, 40g of butter, 40g of coconut oil = 820 calories. That is enough for my breakfast tbh but it lacks protein. So I've got the idea - I've got protein peanut butter, it has 37g of protein in 100g. So what if! Instead of butter I add 50g of peanut butter? That's 19g of protein right there, in a coffee! What do you guys think about the idea?

    • @markusantonious8192
      @markusantonious8192 8 років тому +1

      Calories don't cause weight gain...insulin does. Therefore the 'trick' is to eat things that stimulate insulin the least, i.e. fat... or, of course, don't eat at all, i.e. fast..and allow insulin levels to normalize. If, however, you are eating plenty of carbs and sugars alongside the fat, then this 'bullet proof coffee' is likely bad, i.e. it will simply be stored as more fat rather than burnt for energy (carbs are burnt preferentially).

      Ethan Platas are you one of those people who know absolutely nothing about nutrition and give people terrible advice?, anybody with any sort of nutritional education knows that the myth that fats and coffee are unhealthy is complete BS . as to why the op is gaining weight, if you're still on a high carb diet then the fats arent being burnt for energy and your body will then store them, if you truly want to lose weight then you should try cutting your carb intake.

    1.) Walk a mile
    2.) Eat 6 small meals a day. If you don't then just try to do it the next day. Don't stress yourself.
    3.) UA-cam "Ab workouts" and find a 5-10 minute video and follow along.
    4.) Relax and get 7 hours of sleep per night.
    -Tuesday
    1.) Walk a mile
    2.) Eat 6 small meals a day. If you don't then just try to do it the next day. Don't stress yourself.

    -Wednesday
    1.) Walk (optional)
    2.) Eat 6 small meals a day. If you don't then just try to do it the next day. Don't stress yourself.

    3.) UA-cam "Ab workouts" and find a 5-10 minute video and follow along.
    4.) Relax and get 7 hours of sleep per night.
    -Saturday
    1.) Take the day off.
    2.) Don't over-drink alcohol (each beer is roughly 100 calories or more so be weary.)
    -Sunday
    1.) Do what you feel is comfortable with you. Run if you want to or if you can push yourself to. Walking would be a preference. Take it easy on your joints, muscles, and body overall.

    I prefer black coffee,
    It wasn't always like that for me for year's. I used to drown my coffee with creamer and sugar.
    Since learning black coffee has a tremendous effect on cutting back extra belly fat, in addition to recently cutting my calories way back.
    I've lost close to 15 pounds over the past month.
    In addition to my fitness routine...
    Hardcore cardio/biking.
    Plus some strength training.

      +Beautiful Lana coconut oil alone will NOT help you lose weight. IT is great for getting rid of parasites and as a replacement for unhealthy oils. Cut all breads and learn to eat a lot of broccoli and you will lose weight. consume as much protein as you weigh. If you weigh 160, then you need 160 grams LEAN protein like chicken, 99% fat free turkey, beans, or salmon.

      Beautiful Lana
      Also, do a search for BMR calculator. This will tell you exactly how many calories, protein, fats, carbs, ans sugars you should be eating to lose weight. Follow those guidelines, less 500 calories a day, and you will lose a lb. a week without "dieting". Chances you are consuming way to many carbs and sugars and not enough protein or fiber and by simply getting back into "balance" your body will lose weight. Olive oils, avocados, coconut and Omega 3 oils are GOOD FATS.........eat them. :)

      This is a holy grail for keto eaters tho...if you just drink it just because on non keto it will make you fat .. For keto eaters the point of this coffee is that it Dont spike insuling at all every ingredient is 0 carbs and sugars also the butter and oil feeds your brain not the body (healthy fats wont be stored by the body) ..the brain also sends signals to x2 fat burn to the body .. Now because your brain is satisfied with the healthy fats also makes you focussed for hours gives extreme energy without a crash...makes it a great tool for fasting.......fyi if you eat (eggs toast and bacon after a fast it will rocket spike insuling level and makes it hard to lose weight)...and thats a big No for keto and interminent fasting ...i hope i kinda make sence lol

      True! But black coffee will usually speed up your metabolism to the point where whatever you eat in that same timeframe will be put through your digestive system faster and less calories will be absorbed than what you took in from the coffee. Of course, it varies widely depending on what you ate and how much. An accurate measurement would be impossible.

    This breaks any fast (unlike black coffee); so it's definitely a meal replacement or with a meal to keep you full, energised and going through to the next meal. Ghee would be better than butter, as you had to blend it to death to smooth out the milk solids in the butter. Alternatively, if still unimpressed with butter in your coffee, stick with a bit of cream plus the oil. XCT or MCT oils even better than full coconut oil.

      You have to stop thinking purely about calories. You need think about what makes up those calories and the net effect of those calories on your metabolism. For example, 500 calories of potato chips is very different than 500 calories of grass-fed beef and organic veggies.
      The calories in the bulletproof coffee will actually help you burn fat. That's because the CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) in the grass-fed butter and the MTG (medium-chain triglycerides) in the coconut oil are actually thermogenic - cause you to burn fat.
