      GunGuyTKD hey man! i just got it in the mail and its amazing i love it!!! only got to use it once tho lol (bc its dark out now) im just wondering is the (pump) or (slide) (idk lol) does it wiggle a bit?

    • @gunguytx
      @gunguytx  7 років тому +1

      Clorox Bleach glad you're enjoying it! The pump does wiggle a little back and forth and a touch side to side, but that's not really something you have to worry about. It's just the design.

    I have owned a Mossberg 88 for over 25 years.I have shot Hundreds of rounds out of it. I own 3 barrels for it and its next to the bed with an 18 inch barrel and flashlight. If your thinking of buying one do.

    You can only load 2 shells in the tube but read your manual and it tells you how to remove a pice of wood so you can load 6

    Money well spent. I bought one from Kmart years ago when they sold for $125 to $150. Has never failed in any way . mine has the long barrel 28 inchs i think. Great all around gun. mine does very good at the turkey shoots too.

    Hard to beat for the money. I got mine for $80 used in new condition . its an older one with a 28 inch vent rib barrel. You can get a wood stock set from Numrich for $20 bucks if you would rather have wood. I put the wood stock on mine. Fit with no problems . My 88 is an older one so it does have the forend or pump metal tube .. I use it for hunting and the local turkey shoot. i have a stevens 320 i use for home defense . Anyway thanks sharing keep up the great vids.

    IMHO you've purchased the best value on the market. I've purchased three of these over the past four years. Two of them I've given away to my sons and one I kept for myself. All three have been used to shoot trap and all three have performed flawlessly. With mine, I got the 28" field barrel and then purchased a 20"/8 shot conversion kit from Brownells. This allowed me to use it for both a truck gun and a trap/hunting gun as needed.

    The bolt group on my 88 is blued or coated black, I noticed yours is plain steel? Watched a lot of maverick 88 videos and it seems some come coated and some seem to be plain steel like yours, what's up with that? Can't be from break in wear cause yours in brand new out the box?

    • @gunguytx
      @gunguytx  6 років тому

      I’d imagine it’s just one of those random factory occurrences, or maybe it depends on which factory it was made in. I don’t know either.

    • @steverugerguy9606
      @steverugerguy9606 5 років тому +1

      Mine also has the blued bolt....i called mossberg. They told me the steel is the same whether it's silver or blued. They said it is carbon steel.....one blued...the earlier ones are nickel plated..they said they are having to blue them instead of nickel plating ....something that had to do with nickel not being safe for humans or environment....also they do not inscript maverick by mossberg on the side of the receiver anymore either....i guess blued is ok....but I like the look of the nickel plating better I think.

    • @gunguytx

      If by loose you mean about 1/8th-ish inch of travel up and down then that is pretty normal.

    Funny. I received my Maverick 88 fully assembled, ready to shoot. Why yours needed assembly?

    • @gunguytx
      @gunguytx  6 років тому

      Was yours the display model? Mine came in a box but the barrel was the only thing that needed to be put on. It was ready to shoot after that

    • @nogod7184
      @nogod7184 6 років тому

      No. Mine came in a box too, not a floor sample. They opened it in front of me to get the serial number in order to complete the background check form which is a state (CA) mandate. I got it at Big5 Sports for $199.99 one year ago. Needless to say that Maverick 88 is a fine weapon, especially at that price.
