I have this heat shield on my 88 (18.5 in) barrel. For 4 years, works great, very pleased with this product, excellent shield.
Could you post a picture with your shield on there? I have a light on mine wondering if enough room to put it on. Thanks
Happy Easter!! This is one of the best video’s I have seen. And I’ve seen a lot.. Thank you. I’m going to the website to purchase a heat shield for my maverick 88 that I just purchased..
I bought one of these for my maverick 88 3 years ago. Works great. I have shot over 2 thousand rounds with this on my Mav both this heat Sheild and my Maverick 88 has performed flawlessly. I have never had to mess with the shield or adjust it one time it has never budged. Great product.
Thanks for the info. Very educational and great presentation!
Great vid man you earned this subscriber
Nice upgrades, thanks.
excellent Video! keep up the good work...
I have the same heat shield on my 590, and I love it. Obviously super affordable, but very well designed and functional. Installation takes all of 3 minutes. Absolutely would recommend.
The only drawback is that it looks, well, like polymerized fiberglass.
Got a 590a1. Mossberg Rocks!
Black Aces Tactical Quad Rail Maverick 88 works like a charm 👌
My 88 is in this same configuration! Differences are different light and mount. And mine is FDE with same tac star adp, and FDE hogue stock and grip!!!
I put one like this on mine over 9 yrs ago. I can’t remember who makes it, probably the same as this one. I wasn’t sure about the polymer but figured what the hell. Mine has never moved nor has the polymer fatigued. The only thing I didn’t like about it was the thickness of it obscured half my bead sight. I filed it a little bit down at the nose end and used a rat tail file to file a slight groove.
Have one on my 500. I'm going to put one on my 930. outstanding shield.
THE AFTER MARKET MODS TO YOUR MAVERICK 88 ARE WELL THOUGHT OUT AND PRACTICAL.
THE PISTOL GRIP AND ADJUSTABLE M4 STOCK ARE THE BEST QUALITY AND SUITABLE TO THE SAFETY ON THE TRIGGER GUARD AND COMB HEIGHT FOR A FRONT SIGHT BEAD.
THE BARREL CLAMP AND LIGHT MOUNT ARE WELL PLACED FOR OPERATING THE LIGHT WITH YOUR LEFT THUMB WHILE YOUR HAND IS ON THE FOREND. THE CLAMP ALSO PREVENTS MIGRATION OF THE HEAT SHIELD.
THE COMBINATION OF VELCRO ATTACHED POLYMER SHELL HOLDER WITH SHELL COMPRESSION TUBE IS THE BEST FROM BOTH WORLDS FOR SHELL CARRYING. SPARE POLYMER SHELL HOLDERS CAN BE KEPT IN A DUMP POUCH TO REPLACE AN EMPTY SHELL HOLDER ON THE RECEIVER.
I HAVE A MOSSBERG ATP8 WITH WOOD FOREND AND STOCK, A LEATHER SLING AND SHELL CARRIER ON THE STOCK.
WHAT KIND OF SLING WILL YOU RUN?
I bought this exact heat shield based off your review of it. Just took it shooting for the first time and it crept so bad that it jammed the forend, and I couldn't load more ammo into it. I noticed the creeping after my first load of shots (8 rounds). After 24 rounds is when it crept so far that the encircling clamp jammed the forend.
Sounds like a you-problem. Perhaps you installed it wrong?
After watching this video, youve convinced me to purchase a better camera. And of course, 2 maverick 88’s
Wondering if the heat shield would stand up to swapping out the barrel? I have the Maverick 88 Field/Security combo that comes with 2 barrels and use the longer one for target shooting and swap the shorter security barrel out when i leave the range. Also have the pistol grip/folding stock and love it compared to the original stock.
Need an extended tube to go from 5 to 7. Have an 18” bbl. Don’t want it past the end of the bbl.,or not much
that light “can easily illuminate somebody 600 feet away”……i HIGHLY doubt that. Other than that, great vid, Love what you’ve done to the Maverick. Looks awesome
Let's give him the benefit of the doubt and say he meant 60 ft 😆 great video though 👍
Nice video sir. I’m about to buy this gun I hope I like it.
bisha ali Id buy it all over again. One of my favorites for sure!
I bought a 20 gauge cruiser.
If you get this shield make sure to get 4-40x1/2 screws so it will hold correctly specially on a 590 or 590 A1
I can never find anything for extended tube attachment, any links on that?
The heat shield works fine for 6-rd magazine tubes but creeps on 7 w/o lug to stop it.
The screws are running the other way is that because of it fits better this way
Can that stock be installed on a Maverick 88 Cruiser?
Where is pistol grips and folding stocks illegal at what state you're from
Where you get your upgrades?
How did you mount the flash light adapter and the sling mount with out any picatinny rails? I would like to set my gun up the same way.
Monstrum Q Series Offset Flashlight Mount for Picatinny Rails with Quick Detach Lever that I have linked in the description actually sits between the barrel and the lower tube. No picatinny rail needed.
@@Zer0Nine do you bolt the sling mount to the flash light mount between the barrel and the tube
@@41-willys99 yes, exactly.
@@Zer0Nine ok Thanks . was there a specific sling mount that you used?
Will any of these accessories fit for the 20 gauge mossberg 88?
It might.
Does the pistol grip get in the way of the release button?
It does take some getting used to. It's more difficult to get to with a pistol grip on however with some consistent training you'll get the hang of it.
What was the brand name of the heat shield and where did you buy it?
It's in the video description. Slade streets tactical.
does the heat shield interfere with being able to see the bead?
Not from my experience. Have fun!
Like mine 👍🏻
what kind of side saddle was that?
Is the heat shield metal or plastic?
Click the link and find out. Takes 10 seconds
Where did you get your heat shield and stock?
Read the description….
160 rounds? That’s 30 mins of target shooting at most
man.. just the thought of it being polymer.. no style at all.
You really worried about "style",bro?
