You shouldn't have to slide it back until it clicks. Mine actually doesn't do that for some reason. There's a little, flat slide release lever, right in front of the safety lever. Push that down and the slide comes right off. Might need to push the slide with very light pressure. But it works.

My dog ate my gun. I set it on the trampoline while i was weed eating(i have a locked gated fenced in yard) and he grabbed it right off the tramp. I had to clean it somethin fierce 😂

I scored 4 boxes at a yard sale for $10 and boy does my SR22 love em. I had reservations about standard velocity ammo too but she fed snd ejected flawlessly. Nice and quiet with a gentle thump against the hand,hardly any recoil. The groups were great with none of those unexplained fliers. Now back to reality.. Federal Champion High Velocity at Walmart for $3.75. Louder,not so great accuracy but it works good enough in my little Ruger.

Have you experimented with different pellets in terms of accuracy and maximum power?

I had forgotten about this, (hadn't taken it apart in a while), but if you start the pin before putting the slide on, its much easier. And from someone who's owned a tcp for a long time, if you have a problem getting a round to chamber, say, after firing the first round with a new mag, treat the problem first as being the magazine itself, not the ammunition like most people do. The first series (A) has a slightly different mag catch and the factory mag obviously came with it and corresponds to it. I forget which later aftermarket mags had issues, but try a different one first before you think there's a firearm problem or an ammunition one. The main clue is likely to be the magazine coming unseated after the first round. (Or maybe not wanting to at all?) Ive never had an actual gun or ammunition problem. The original factory magazines are marked "Brazil". The only way to see it is if you look close and compare the original and aftermarket. Its probably not even noticeable unless you find a video and see what the difference is you're looking for. (The Brazilian mags may work in all models, I don't know. But the reverse is possible.)

So i see some steel cased .223 on the table. Can i run steel cased ammunition in my axis ??

You know once you shoot the 7.62x25 you dont get that feeling with 9mm that tok round is way more powerful
