@@jonathanpickles2946 maybe because bard and rogue doesn't get Shield Block feat via class, and one of the ancestry variants of humans give you general feat at lvl , which could be used for taking Shield Block. Then starting from lvl 2 you can already begin to take bastion feats and not wait till lvl 4. Higher the lvl, higher the competition for feats most of the time.
I'll take it at lvl 8 with my Sparkling Targe Magus (free archetype), so that Quick shieldblock comes online with Dazzling block at lvl 10 :) Also worth noting that you can't use Nimble Shield Hand with Tower Shields... BUT YOU CAN WITH FORTRESS SHIELDS XD
I am starting out my first P2e campaign coming from 5e. Playing an orc dragon instinct barbarian. I have a bastard sword and shield as equipment. This sounds like it could be a great archetype. Would that be bad with barbarian vs. going full in with a 2h weapon? You make a good point on the importance of staying alive rather than always focusing on max damage. Appreciate any advice.
Wouldn't it still be the shield taking 10 points of damage since 20 (doubled damage value) minus 10 (doubled shield hardness) works out to 10 points of damage ignoring shield's hardness.
It specifically states "[Y]ou can reduce the damage to yourself by double the shield's Hardness" which mentions nothing of the shield receiving the same benefit.
In a game with free archetype. Rock dwarf Fighter with free Bastion dedication. He was an unstoppable force of nature :-D
Thanks! Great stuff!
When it comes to defensive feats, this one always draws my eye.
It pairs very nicely with a human rogue or bard to give a little extra safety in combat.
Why Human? ( I don't know PF2 very well)

Great content! I'm not a tank player, but my friend that is will love this video.
Love the video 🎉 thank you! I'm playing my first tank character soon 🛡️
I want to try Bastion with my free archetype on warpriest. It’s tough giving up champion but I think it will be fun!!
Great video, the fighter class has most of bastion feats. The champion share also a couple too.

Yeah!! my favorite archetype.

I combine Bastion with my champion and it's pretty awesome.
If your champion has a Shield Ally… heheheh… increased Hardness and HP.
@@Burtimus02 Not yet. But I'd like to get second Ally for it.
