@Ghost Yuki Telekinetic rend, combined with the mind blast from level 2, strikes ALL the saving throws... if the opponent has even ONE low save, he's boned.
I really love your positivity. And I really enjoy having a over-arching video just giving a jist of what a class is and why it's awesome. It's easier to do a deep dive after I get a sense of what a class is. Thank you!
I watched some of your early videos and was a bit put off, but you have really grown into your channel. You really feel more comfortable on the Camera. Soooo. Liked, Subbed and Belled!
I was not interested in this class when it was first announced, because I didn’t find PF1’s version intriguing. But ho boy, this one is a whole new level of fun and intriguing. And I’ll be honest, I wonder if some plays FF14 on the design team. Glimpse Weakness/Omnidirectional Scan made me think of the Scholar’s Chain Stratagem while Amp Shield made me think of Sage’s Haima ability. Great coverage as always and glad you recovered safely! Edit: The Infinite Eye and Tangible Dream are the ones I’m excited by, but I also found Tangible Dream the most exciting for the exact reasons you mentioned! Also, Occult has access to False Life and Mage Armor which makes you just as durable as a martial class. Emotional Acceptance is great, but Precise Discipline is great also as you can gain a +2 status to AC. So you can enter two modes: first one, you use Amp’d Shield and Imaginary Weapon early on to mitigate damage and deal damage. You can amp Imaginary Weapon if you find an opportunity to strike two enemies. Then when your focus points are used up, unleash your psyche. Your Imaginary Weapon now deals more damage (like smashing enemies with an imaginary greatsword) and you can use Calculate Threats to protect yourself. Wandering Reverie’s Fade into Dreams is pretty comparable defense wise (enemies that hit you more easily conceal is stronger. For enemies that have a hard time hitting you, it’s worth less). A gish might be possible too since you have access to Bless and Heroism. Having Amp Guidance as a reaction to turn your misses into hits. Glimpse Weakness adding more strike damage. Also, a Kitsune CHA Psychic can get a lot of focus points. 3 FP as normal. Grab a familiar for Familiar Focus to get a 4th. Multiclass Champion for Desperate Plea for a 5th. Strain Mind for a 6th. Brain Drain for a 7th. You can get ALL the focus points!
Good choices for your favorite options. I am making a psychic for our next campaign that have both the emotional acceptance and tangible dream. An orc that summons chains through imaginary weapon to attack with.
Glad you’re feeling better. There is so much breadth available in the base and APG classes that I haven’t felt a need for any more, but you make psychic sound like something I should investigate.
I like Guidance as it gives a pretty good buff to a action that can be used in and out of combat, telekinetic projectile if you don't get it already, Shield if you don't get it already and Read Aura. For spells Grim Tendrils is a solid combat spell and illusory disguise can be very helpful depending on your skills. For 2nd level spells I recommend Calm Emotions can be surprisingly handy with Shatter being a good damage spell or great for blowing up doors.
I’m fairly new to p2e and ttrpgs in general, but I’m considering multiclassing into psychic with my level 6 bard. Would a combination of bard and psychic be viable at this level or would I be wasting my time?
I mean the initial dedication feat for any multiclass is hardly game changing so I don't know what you mean by being viable at your level. I think psychic could add some great empowered cantrips to your bard and if you don't plan on using your focus points you could pick up some power cantrips that you could amp giving yourself some great staying power if you feel like you are burning through your spell slots or prefer taking situational spells.
@@theebadluckgamer Ah, I'd meant I was worried that level 6 was too late to take on a dedication. I've never multiclassed before so I've been overthinking it a bit oops. But thank you very much for responding! This helps a bunch! :0
Keep in mind that imaginary weapon is decent damage, but you're a 6 HP per level class, and since Paizo hasn't fixed it yet, it still triggers AoO. It's decent damage, but also behind the standard martial by 3 to hit. Definitely good as an amp if you can hit two targets that don't have AoO.
@@noname-do5wo heroism is eventually a pretty good option that makes up for your lack of item bonus at the cost of your highest (or near highest) spell slot and your first turn every combat. And of course, doesn't make up for the strange level holes where you're very far behind (like -4 at level 13 and 14), or stack with common buffs your party might provide (bless/inspire courage/inspiring martial etc.)
The existence of Dancing Blade immediately makes this class a 10/10. I've been asking for that to be in a tabletop game for years

@@alarkhar What is the mind blast from level 2? I don't see that in the list?
@@GregCaughillI was talking about the Psi Burst feat.

So glad to hear you're feeling better!!
Data for the Data gods!
Gonna make an actual comment after watching.
Well, listening. I just listen to these while doing other things.
I’ll be playing my first psychic on Saturday. Super excited!!
Just found your channel. Loving your pf2e content so far.
I'm so happy with the changes they made from playtest! And I love your hype and positivity for this amazing class!

Just found these vids. Very helpful!

Hoping to add the psyhic archetype to a magus to add a new flair to the magus. :)

I get that but I am glad I can make it sound good, means I am doing well in the videos
Do you have to have unleashed psyche to amp cantrips? Or can you do it whenever you want with only limitation being focus points?
Amps only require the use of Focus points so you can amp without being in Unleashed Psyche

You are an occult caster though so you will have heroism which can very much help with that
