    Some thoughts:
    - Gleaming Blade's active is Double Slice. Except it works with one weapon, isn't limited to melee and converts all damage to Spirit. They copied the text poorly - notice how it tells you to combine the damage twice.
    - Skin hard as horn is totally the Bud Spencer move. And maybe superman. Maybe Zaraki Kenpachi too.
    - Victors Wreath doesn't seem to work if it was a enemy roll against DC, like Demoralize. It needs to have a saving throw, like Fear.
    - 21 Icons with 3 picks should be 1330 combinations. With 4 it is 5985. At least I think, I used a Website calculator. It invovles the factorial function.
    If you want to have only one weapon, it depends how many of the 21 are weapons.
    - Humble Strikes is there for the same reason the Clerics Deadly Simplicity and Champions Deific Weapon - it makes Simple weapon a _competitive choice_ on a class that can wield Martial Weapons. I honestly wish it was a default for every class that has Martial Weapons.

      Yea humble strikes seem to be there so you can do stuff like cosplay Hercules with a big bonk branch without being screwed on damage.

      @@MagmaRiver If there is 7 Weapons and you only pick one the combination limits should be like 7 times 14 times 13 or 1274.
      After you picked a weapon you don't want any weapon anymore, so all 7 drop out of consideration. Leaving only the choices between 14 and then 13 non-weapon icons.

    On Humble Strikes, improvised weapons are simple weapons and the Weapon Improviser archetype notes that typically damage for improvised weapons "that needs two hands is 1d8, 1d10, or occasionally 1d12". This means that you might needed to figure out what to do with the issue of what to do when you improve a 1d12 a die. [of course, the remaster caps die increases at 1d12]

    Your qualm is understandable. But allow me to offer a counterargument. Making difficult choices *is a part of the game.* By all accounts, the type of things you do in combat are important. You can take a gamble as a wizard casting a 3-action spell, but now you're vulnerable because you stayed in place instead of repositioning yourself first. Plus, it can make for more dramatic moments in a battle since you have to decide what takes precedent. Sure, it would be cool if it weren't like this, but then it potentially breaks the game just by existing.

    Great kinda Teaser Trailer style video to get us excited!
    I think with the epitaphs you'll probably want to pick 1 as your 'primary' and then 2 and 3 as silver bullet types to use in specific conditions you may have issues with, or when your 'primary' doesn't work for whatever reason.

    I think with those epitaphs it would make some sense you generally would want to use your most advanced one but still have the other options to choose if you need. Having that flexibility seems like it would be nice and it looks like you are going to be sparking stuff pretty often so you will have a lot of options to use them.

    The last ruler has a huge flaw:
    It enables you to demoralize an enemy that misses you for a free action.
    But typically they will miss you during their turn ; even if you pull off a successful demoralize, at the end of their turn their fresh frightened condition will end. If it was their last attack, you're screwed (and they're immune for 10 minutes), for it would have served no purpose (no debuff nor help for your allies).
    Imho it should reeeeally include a text stating that they cannot reduce their frightened value below 1 (if you succeed or if they end their turn in range), or maybe that they're not immune to your demoralize as they should.
    As it stands it is very lackluster

      I'd argue it shouldn't end before their next turn since in that case it was basically applied after their turn ended.

      Most of the time they'll miss you during their turn, then Frightened will immediately tick down.
      Example:
      PL even monster attacks, hits first attack, attacks again, misses: you demoralize, succeed, enemy immediately reduces Frightened to 0 at end of turn.
      It definitely should last at least one round but it doesn't right now.

    Not to be a nag, BLG, but the text says any "weapon in the sword or knife group, OR a melee unarmed attack that deals slashing damage"
    You can use a Rapier because it's part of the sword group despite dealing piercing, but you can't use a Greataxe because it's part of the axe group despite dealing slashing.
    The bit about unarmed slashing is to give more options for someone who wants to play an Unarmed Strike focus Exemplar.
    Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Humble Strike is so you can thematically play the 'Hero who comes from humble beginnings' without sacrificing damage.

    Weird problem for Dual Class Characters- Spirit Striking stacks with Weapon Specialization, but weapon specialization does not stack with itself. People attempring to abuse this should be lightly spritzed with a squirt bottle and told to stop it.

      Though also you can't combine an Exemplar with like any class without those stacking. Even casters eventually get Weapon Specialization

      if you allow for dual classing, expect your players to be gremlins lmao, I personally enjoy stupid/weird combos that still work, but I'll absolutely have a couple of generically good answers in my back pocket lmao

    Regarding the simple weapon die increase at 30:10:
    "When an effect calls on you to increase the size of your weapon damage dice, instead of using its normal weapon damage dice, use the next larger die, as listed below (so if you were using a d4, you'd use a d6, and so on). If you are already using a d12, the size is already at its maximum. You can't increase your weapon damage die size more than once.
    1d4 » 1d6 » 1d8 » 1d10 » 1d12

    I absolutely love this class as a concept. In my opinion, classes in an RPG are supposed to allow the player to live out the fantasy associated with a particular genre archetype, and I think Demigods work so much better as a class than as something like a race or a background

    As for "One Moment Till Glory", it would seem that the original application of the negative effect or condition you're trying to remove needs to have had a saving throw, as you cannot roll a NEW saving throw against something that never granted you one. Also, you wouldn't have a DC to roll against if there was no original saving throw. The wording about "effects that wouldn't normally allow a new saving throw" is merely there in case the effect normally wouldn't allow for any additional saving throw effects, such as effects we'd consider "permanent", i.e. petrification or curses.

    So Epithets now can be used after ANY transcend? This is the reason of "one Epithet is better generally" => before each Epithet was linked to a specific Icon type, which limited combinations, yes, but also made the situational epithets more prominent cause they were extra effects on top of your built up loop cycle, now when you can decide them they compete a lot, as far as i can see...
    Interesting changes overall, but that's weird to me.

    To the point of Humble Strike: it's in the basic rules that weapon die caps at d12, you can't go to d20. Even if you did have a d12 simple weapon in theory, it wouldn't be pushed to d20.

    Reactive strike is soo good that it kinda ruins other feats when it has to be selected as a feat.
    I like flow of war thematically, but 1 action pr hour just cannot compare against a free noMap attack potentially every turn that can also disrupt enemies' actions.
    Personally, i would love for Paizo to keyword up "no map" "second map" and "last map" so that they could say Reactive strike is allways on second map or something like that.
    Reactive strike is oppressive, and this is coming from someone wh loves to play martials

    Newspark Transcendence if they linked epithets to a icon type, body, weapon, ect
    Then I think it would synergize with swapping and not feel like you're missing out only picking one, but strategically alternating

    I saw people freaking out about the examplar dedication since just taking it gives you the full benefit of one ikon,and I can see why lol. Those are crazy good when applied on other martials. The two I see people be upset about are the Gleaming Blade passive +2 per dice and the one that is just a constant courageous anthem aura

    This is a very good video and I really have enjoyed it but I'm going to ask out of pure curiosity is there a weapon icon to do with using your hands or something similar like gauntlets I really want to use exemplar who punches good and is known for their fists

    I think that Spirit Strikes is worse than you're giving it credit for. Yeah, spirit damage is less resisted than physical damage, but it doesn't convert the damage of the attack to spirit damage. If you have an attack that does 11 damage against an enemy who resists the type, it doesn't matter whether you have weapon specialization or Spirit Strikes. The primary situations where it would differ are if the enemy's resistance is higher than your attack's damage (Which is when you'd want Spirit Strikes, provided the target isn't resistant to Spirit too) or, the more common situation, against enemies with Resist All, which would reduce both the primary damage and the Spirit Strike damage by the same amount. It's not a huge difference, and the existence of Astral Runes/The extra spirit damage of the Weapon Ikons makes it less of a problem, but from my experience it's a downside more often than it is an advantage.

    Hmm, Skin Hard as Horn as some interesting implications as a sharp win-more effect. Since its Immanence doesn't apply on crits, it isn't great against bosses/solos. But against mooks you will be taking hardly any damage at all.
    Also agreed on your read on Victor's Wreath Immanence. No action Bless? That's really good. Even if you have a cleric on your party, you can save them the actions.
    21 choose 3 is gonna be 1330 combinations 🥴

    Ive tried to troubleshoot this question for a little while but does anyone know if Victors Wreath transcendence is spammable or only ever 1 reroll per negative.
    Seems silly if it is spammable so i assume it is the more sensible interpretation just curious if there exists a concrete answer.

    It seems to me the class still suffers from the same design flaw as in the playtest. A lot of your choices and feats are going to be active only one third of the time. I was hoping they added some minor passive effect to ikons when they are not the one that has the spark. Skin Hard as Horn for example is very weak when compared to a barbarian raging resistance. If you have it active your weapon and worn ikons are doing nothing, and the barbarian one works as long as you are in a Rage and doesn't diminish their offensive capabilities.
    It feels weird to pick an ikon to be like Achiles and then it just works only when you focus on it.

    Can you take the same icon twice? let's say two different gleaming blade swords?
    Also I love the epitaphs, evokes Homeric writing, where characters had epitaphs of their own. Can't think of any of the top of my head so ass pull example, whenever the epic would refer to let's say Achilles it would not just call him Achilles, but "Valiant Achilles"

    Skin Hard as Horn seems fairly weak and underwhelming. It only applies to 1 damage type and can only be changed during daily preparations. This should have been a 10 minute activity.
    The transcendence abilities won't be useful the majority of the time. And the majority of the time the miss effect happens the enemy likely wasn't going to make another attack anyways.

    I don't think Spirit Strikes is better than Weapon Specialization. In fact, I think it's almost strictly worse.
    Bypassing resistances only matters when it's the primary damage type you're dealing. If you hit a creature for 15 unmodified slashing damage and they have resistance 10 to slashing, that will do 5 actual damage. Both Weapon Specialization and Spirit Striking will bring that to 7.
    If the creature is immune to spirit damage, however, Spirit Striking will do nothing. Spirit Striking is only better when the enemy has exceptionally high physical resistance and you otherwise would do 0 damage or when the enemy happens to have a very rare weakness to spirit. In general you're more likely to come across constructs that are immune to spirit damage than both of those other cases combined.
    The epithets/feats that let you change the damage similarly won't let you pierce defenses more easily, though they will make proccing weaknesses easier.

    Exemplar seems nice but with current rules in a construct heavy game like Iron Gods or (ironically...) blood lords, you'll really feel like your exemplar sucks ass because of the spirit damage.
    Also attacking hazards is almost impossible for you.

      There is a level 1 feat to swap any spirit damage to any other energy, including Vitality or Void!

      In the video it looks like there is a level 1 feat that lets you change your spirit damage to one other damage type that you pick via the feat and you can take the feat again for more options so it seems like you should be able to still get a benefit on stuff even immune to spirit.

    Hey great video as always :)
    Want to chime in on one detail: I don't agree with your analysis of spirit striking being better than weapon specialization. If an enemy has a resistance vs whatever physical damage your strike is doing, it's (almost?) never going to be resisting the full amount of your strike, which means the added flat amount of the same damage brought by weapon spec is never resisted since it's not considered appart from your dice+strengh etc. damage, but part of the same whole. In contrast, adding another type of damage (here, spirit damage, but the argument stands with other damage types in other circumstances) allows the possibility that your ennemy has a resistance to spirit damage (which, granted, is rare, but exists) and thus will then resist (depending on the amount of its resistance) some/all of your spirit strike.

    This class's mechanics seem ok. Nothing OP. BUT....I really really really really really don't like the story and RP complexities around this class. It gives cringy 'Chosen One' vibes. I'll have tell players to absolutely ignore the fluff found in the class. Honestly this whole class could've just been a really cool Archetype. It did NOT need to be a whole class.

      Rare means you are free to say no as a DM. However, you can always reflavor it as "you are an upstarting adventurer of surprising skill, having a furious battle spirit" and that would step away from the godly connections.
