So what I'm hearing is, an Inventor with Reverse Engineer can order an omelet, unscramble the eggs, learn the recipe, AND remake the omelet and eat it. "Chefs hate him for this one simple trick!"
Add the inventor feat it gets at level 1 where it can add a formula inventor doesn't know to its book. And Gadget making feats where it gets more formulas for gadgets. It even gets better if your formula book is the one that has formulas for all normal core rulevook items, some alchemical bombs, mutagens and formula for level 1 spell scroll.
Variable core isn't a choice; it always makes your explode action and your crit fail explosions do the damage type you selected. The idea is that you are replacing the default power source (presumably combustion?) with a new power source like electrical power or whatever fits for the damage types. So when things go wrong and your innovation explodes, the new power source is exploding instead of the old combustion system it had.
I played an Inventor of the playtest version in a one shot. Basically made a Kamen Rider/Power Ranger using Collapsing Armor and it would be transforming as returning the armor to normal size and armor up. Combine that with Megaton Strike to be the finisher attacks and it just worked so well!
A note for Devastating Weaponry: one of the weapons in the book is the Air Gun - a non-gunpower pistol (or a rifle, for that matter) that does little damage but has a six bullet magazine. If Devastating Weaponry is used against six or less targets, I'd say the Air Gun is just fine for the task... I mean, sure, it has a basic D4 damage die, but a suitable mod can increase it to a D6, and potency runes can overload it just fine... for A LOT of shots spraying all over.
Can’t wait for the gunslinger video! I’m a self admitted gun nut, basically whenever I get the opportunity to use a gun in pathfinder/dnd I usually take it. I was so disappointed when the gunslinger play test came out just a month after my group started a new pathfinder 2e campaign, but at least I know what my next character will be if my current one dies. Kobold sniper will rise
The limit for wearing tools is up to 2 Bulk worth of tools. This allows you to wear any number of tool sets until you reach that 2 bulk limit. Repair Kit is 1 Bulk, Climbing Kit is 1 Bulk, Healer's Tools are 1 Bulk, Alchemist's Tools are 1 Bulk, Thieves Tools are Light Bulk, Artisan's Tools are 2 Bulk. This means that you could normally wear Thieves Tools and Artisan's Tools as bulk rounds down to the largest whole number. You could also wear Healer's Tools and Alchemist's Tools in addition to Thieves Tools. Built-In Tools allows you to fit another 2 sets of tools as long as they weigh a total of 2 bulk or less. Technically, that means that you could integrate a Repair Kit and Climbing Kit into your Innovation while you wear your Artisan's Tools and Thieves Tools. Really helpful for access during your adventuring day.
I know this is a year late, but "all right" and "alright" are both correct forms of the same idea. The major difference is the form of the writing. "All right" is the version used for more formal settings, such as rulebooks, while "alright" is the informal version.
i had been asking around about the "construct shell" feat and it seems like you can take the "take cover" action to get an improved shield whith no hands while mounted so that adds up to the mecha dream.
pg 477 of the CRB says you can Take Cover to increase standard cover to greater cover, there is no way to improve lesser cover to standard cover. Probably specifically because creatures can provide lesser cover.
@@YmirLonginus Pg 471 about the take cover action: "You press yourself against a wall or duck behind an obstacle to take better advantage of cover." and "Otherwise, you gain the benefits of standard cover (a +2 circumstance bonus instead). "The otherwise referring to cases other than when you get standar cover, If you have a realistic form of cover you taking this action allow you to have this effect. Sometimes in a mount you don't necessarily have cover, up to GM, but with that feat? There is no circumstances where you don't have it.
For Just the Thing!, just to clarify. While the Flat Footed penalty does not affect your AC it does still allow any other things that the Flatfooted condition exposes you to such as Sneak Attack. Minor caveat but still worth noting. 😁
22:40 I'm pretty sure the rules here actually are implying they only take the damage once, not every attack. That would be way too RNG and risky, especially on a hard DC where the odds of crit fail are way higher
would it be too much to homebrew Dual-Form weapon to let the second configuration benefit from fundamental runes and to be able to have it’s own property runes?
Tbh, your initial interpretation of Dual-Form Weapon's interaction with runes does seem the more logical. After all, who the hell will be carrying a +0 weapon with its initial damage well past Level 10 or something? Lol
Hey I don't mind if you split them, if it takes a while it takes a while. It's nice to get all this info in any case. I pre-ordered the book but since I'm getting pocket edition, I have to wait longer. It's worth it for the money saved versus hardcover though imho. Also holy crap, you can be steampunk magic Iron Man with collapsible power armor :D
For dual form, can you using the manifold modification feat at 8 to get an extra modification for each weapin?weapon? Also want gadgets coverage please
If a feat has the optional unstable, you use it and fail the flat check, can you still use the non-unstable version or do you need the 10 min after combat to use that too
@nonat1s Love the video it was incredibly useful as always. After watching both of these there has been something that caught my attention with Inventor, and maybe in the future you'll go over things like this on the broad strokes but Inventor on the whole seems like a pretty lackluster multiclass option? You get no access to innovations outside of feats that give it and it seems like it exists to give you their actions rather than any innovation customization. I'd love to hear your 2 cents on that.
(Sorry for no timestamp) When you got confused about the weapon/crit Specialization for the armor, it means weapon/crit Specialization, as the armor gives you an unarmed attack.
Weird quirk for Reverse Engineer: it's a 2nd level feat that you can't take it at 2nd level (with extremely few exceptions). Why? Its prerequisite is Expert in Crafting, which you cannot boost with a skill increase at 2nd level. Inventor gets Expert in Crafting naturally at 3rd level. The only known options are, with the Free Archetype rule, the Vehicle Mechanic Dedication, or the Pathfinder Guild Master dedication. Pretty sure this is just a typo, but they need to fix it.
'Alright' is an... informal word. So if you are say, writing a book, you would never use it, but if you are writing a text to a friend it's common enough that hopefully they won't bother correcting you. In this case 'all right' is correct.
Quick linguistics lesson. Ever see someone write, alot? That’s right, a lot of people do it. Too many in fact. So, all right is the correct and most appropriate but publishing companies were willing to get behind alright and allright for clarity with the former taking precedent in journalism due to the ink saved from the one little letter. Mic drop.
wait doesn't gadget specialist, not specify what level of gadget you can learn or craft? so by the rules, i can pull out a lvl 18 land mine while at lvl 4?
The one thing that confuses me is Reverse Engineer requires Expert Crafting but it's not possible to have Expert Crafting at level 2 for the Inventor. They get it automatically at 3
It's a level 4 feat from the Scrounger archetype, so there's that. EDIT: Okay, I was kinda right. It's based on the scrounger feat (it's a combo of two scrounger feats, in fact) but they kept the prerequisites because... yeah, I don't get it either.
WHATS A FLURRY RANGER? NO ONE KNOWS BECAUSE NONAT1'S HASNT MADE A VIDEO ON IT. #RANGER101 Also the inventor looks so much fun. Eventually i will play some 2ed but i have so much 1ed to get through first. Yay AP backlog.
Ok Haphazard Repair. This feat is a paradox. I use an ability with the unstable trait. I Fail the check And lock out all other unstable ability's until its repaired. But Haphazard Rep. IS Unstable. So You lock yourself out of your repair ability. What!?!?!
Saddest thing that most of the pathfinder 2e classes are difficult to play as all 5e classes are easy to pick up with little complications might turn new pathfinder players from ever playing them which is not good, Paizo really should have thought them out better
All right is a spelling mistake, it's implying that everything is right, either as in correct or on the right side. Alright is the correct word they probably meant.

@@smjsuperscott goblin with a shotgun is my idea, a very very big shotgun made out of scrap.
You need to make an Investigator/Inventor called Inspector Gadget.

6:40 you forgot that tampering lowers the attack and the damage roll about -2, so not only do they hit les, they do less dmg too
-2 to hit plus your "innate" -1 to hit for starting with a 16 on your strike Stat is pretty harsh.

Personally I really like the sp[it videos. Makes it more digestible IMO. Also, cool concept with those map stickers
I agree. I like the 2 part formula. It ensures we get a really thorough review and gets us more content!
Fun fact: there are some gadgets that are basically one-use counter spells.
Would love a vid about the gadgets!
Cool vid Nonat. Are we ever going to get videos for the rest of the Core Rulebook classes?
This was great content! Thanks, Nonat! I will be checking out that Kickstarter!
would it be too much to homebrew Dual-Form weapon to let the second configuration benefit from fundamental runes and to be able to have it’s own property runes?

I definitely agree. If you can't rune it up separately the feat instantly goes from really cool to basically pointless.
@@12thLevelSithLord Just going to take my handy dandy homebrew pen and rewrite some things.
If you have a blazon of shared power, I think it would work on the secondary form as the runes are on the blazon, rather than the innovation.

Devestating weaponry should affect ranged attacks. be awesome to pull a Marry Poppins and fire an arrow that hits everyone around you as you whistle
Would a double barrel weapon bypass the the Devastating Weaponry Feat limitation since you can make multiple attacks before reloading?
Dual form weapon suggests that you would add runes separately I believe.
