My Deathskulls are pink. My boss is colour blind after a bomb hit him in the blue bits. He was covered in pink (his blood mixed with white ash) which looks blue to him now. He doesn’t know he’s colour blind and kills any boy who dares inform him of his condition.
Evil Sunz is tragic, because it's very flavorful, and so very close to being good. There is a hypothetical version of the subfaction that actually works, and it wouldn't take much to get there.
They're also my favorite color. I don't always wanna play vehicle spam, but Evil Sunz are one of those subfactions where I feel stupid not taking "the right units" but they don't even make their best units better.
So while I don't collect orks - one of my friend group already does and I'm a chaos player - I was tempted into making a Kaptain with the Squigosaur Beastboss came out. So I got it, got a Pirate Ork head from the Flash Gitz seperately, and mixed the kits with a heavy bunch of skulls, setting him up as a Big Game Hunter type Kaptain, who takes prides in the big things he kills, and who has a cybernetic arm because, well, Pirate
Evil suns rules genuinely feel like somebody forgot about them. Fun army, colours and lore but just had rules update around them without them catching up.
My Bad Moonz are actually a kustom faction, for which I have no suitable name yet. Kolor scheme is Yellow and Purple, and they're all obsessed with Dakka. Gorkanaut, Megatrakk Scrapjet, Kustom Boosta Blasta, etc... The fact I get to shoot and shoot and shoot is just the biggest fun for me. Yes, everyone will die, but hey, that just means it didn't count
I have an idea for an Ork army, basically it's a bunch of bad moons who got taken over by a goff warboss whose army got krumped, and now he has to deal with the bad moons muckin' about all da zoggin' time
As someone who has a Plane heavy Blood Axe clan collection I enjoyed your Orky Vietnam joke. Also yes they are painted in a hodgepodge of camo patterns.
The Snakebitez relic has a 6" range. And after it deals damage to it's target, it deals a mortal wound to every unit within 6". It deals 1 mortal wound to its own user.
I know that it's late, but I just found your guys' channel and subscribed. Love your content! I've been playing orks for years and even though Evil Sunz isn't my favorite of the clans, they have won me a few tournaments simply for their relic and strategem. The relic is amazing on a beast boss on squigasaur as it makes him move 13" and advance much faster for an easy charge, and he has an engagement aura of "if you charge him, you're fighting last with everything around him" which is nuts on a beatstick character. Means you can charge the enemy scary unit and then never worry about it interrupting before you attack with everyone else and it also makes the beastboss basically unchargeable as he'll just kill whatever charges into him first. Alongside that, the strat is where the real money is at: you take 6 koptas with rokkits and they basically move 16" up over obscuring terrain, shoot 12d3 rokkits, and then move again back behing cover where they can't be shot. I've went entire 5 round games without them ever getting shot at and then the last round I ramming speed them into a unit to help clean up where I need to in CC. Evil sunz are pretty good when you play like Mork and less like Gork.
This has always made a lot of sense to me. Instead if constraining my field of view to a single clan I plan to collect and paint all sorts of different klans and klan colors. The same as how I plan to make a grand alliance of destruction army for age of sigmar and just collect all those armies in particular. GREAT VIDEO LADZ! KEEP MAKIN' ORK VIDEOS! WE'Z DA BEST! DONK FINK SO?! I DON' CARE! ZOG ROIGHT OFF! WAAAAAGH!
One amazing thing about ork weapons relating to Evil Sunz: Mega Kustom blasta and similar weapons ARE assaults. However, as Deffskullster, I prefer the rerolls for those. Hell, Evil Sunz just rocking 8th edition kultur which is kind of bummer.
Ork army idea: WAAAGH "Let's All 'Ave A Zoggin Good Toim" - all these orks are on a package WAAAGHiday run by the Bad Moon warboss. The squads have coloured armbands so they can refind their group, and the warboss and nobs wear high viz vests.
Worth mentioning the Gobshite Thunderbuss is a heavy weapon, so it gets the badmoons extra range. Still dont think you want a Big Mek within 18", but still
You could get a unit of halflings and paint them green and play them as some kind of boyz, as the halfling's village was invaded by orks so they had to adapt and infiltrate them.
Eye completely agree with the paint as you want idea. I have a small faction of Boyz In my army that I decided to paint after the understanding. That originally orks were going to be red
God damnit. Now I want to play orks. Blood Axes and Death Skullz just sound so... ME! Especially since I grew a reputation for... Tinkering with every kit I get my hands on. xD
I’m still trying to figure out what clan I’m going to go with. My orks are mainly black with a lot of hazard stripes and other yellow bits along with some red. I’m probably going to eventually decide on bad moons since my warboss is a mekboss who at this point is more machine than ork and I have a lot of deff dreads and kans
Something I do not see talked about is the fact that the Gobshot thunderbuss is heavy. In bad moons. Meaning its range is actually 18". 18" double scorcha. Unfortunately not many models can take it and you usually only get 1-2 shots per game, if even that. But 18" is decent. And RAW, Brogg's Buzzbomb has friendly fire, since it says "each unit within 6" of the target suffers 1 mortal wound". It does not specify enemies.
So, can you build an army with two different clans? Like could I go half Goffs and half Blood Axes? I just started, and I'm wanting to paint my combat patrol ork box two different ways so that I can split it in half and play with friends.
My orks look like a bag of m&ms and skittles mixed together. Most of them are 2nd hand ebay models that already were painted and they look great as a mob on the table
If you're playing with friends, ask them if they're okay with it. My spouse is playing a "convert" space marines army, with units from loyal, chaos, and primaris.
My own Clan of Orks are my faves, along with my own Chapter of Space Marines. I'm not much into the established clans/chapters. It's more fun to come up with your own stuff.
Huh. So, the Evil Suns rules are actually really close to the Saim-Hann craftworld special rules, included removing the penalty to assault weapons. The big difference there being that the default shuriken weapons of the basic troops & windrunners (and indeed, most of the vehicles) are all assault weapons, so they can actually take advantage of it.
FML do you two know how many EFFING orky boyz I have to print now to field 3 ENTIRELY DIFFERENT ork armies???? Battlescribe is about to overheat my phone...
Evil Sunz were so much better in 8th edition when dakka weapons were still Assault and you got +1 to charge rolls, too. Moving +1, Advancing +1, shooting without penalty, and then charging +1 with reroll either or both dice just gave them so much threat range on the board. The combination of the weakened rules and shrunken board (which makes the extra move less relevant) in 9th just screwed the subfaction.
They should have gotten an extra attack in melee that causes d3 MW on a 4+ and/or have some crazy good consolidation, fire and fade, tank shock kind of mechanic...oh well, maybe now in 10th Evil Sunz will be best at speed freeks
Evil sunss had +1 to charge rolls in 8ed and was only clan used. And with 9ed version maked many orks assoult guns to the bad dakka type instead make they lost alot, big mek is one character that can have assoult guns, and if fix a truck with some models be truck Boys you can have big mek hit on 3+ when advanced. Killrig with reszmekkas reder paint and squig-hide tires gets moment 16 Base. And if advance get d6+3. Sow if do whaaag it can mow and charge with 20-26 moment.
Great video lads! I actually started Orks 3 weeks ago. Having loads of fun with the Combat Patrol atm. I decided to paint them in a mix. Some are blue, some are red, some are yellow. Properly chaotic and orky and I don’t have to decide on a single sceme^^
My idea for the optimal color scheme: - Yellow ranged weapons - black melee weapons - blue body-armor - leather west - "camouflage"-headgear - purple facepaint - red boots
My Clan is all painted in pride colors, each unit of boys, nobz etc. All a different flag. Storm boyz are ace woth garlic bread painted on the rockets.
My Deathskulls are pink. My boss is colour blind after a bomb hit him in the blue bits. He was covered in pink (his blood mixed with white ash) which looks blue to him now. He doesn’t know he’s colour blind and kills any boy who dares inform him of his condition.
That's hilarious
That is a great

I've been painting up a blood axe army. They are definitely Vietnam war themed.
We iz the Ork Boyz and we speak for the trees! What are they sayin? We thinkz they want uz to krump you lot!"
Glad i stumbled across this. Great work boys.
Thank you for the kind words, our video editor we tied up in the basement has been doing an insane job with these recent videos.

As someone who has a Plane heavy Blood Axe clan collection I enjoyed your Orky Vietnam joke.
Also yes they are painted in a hodgepodge of camo patterns.
I like this channel. I'm not a big podcast listener, but these are good videos. I like your opinions.
35:51 I guess Credence Clearwater Revival is the Ork Band since they also do the song "Bad Moon Rising"...
The Snakebitez relic has a 6" range. And after it deals damage to it's target, it deals a mortal wound to every unit within 6".
It deals 1 mortal wound to its own user.
That’s pretty orky
Any other faction, I'd say "that seems like a really dramatic oversight!"
With Orks, I just go "that sounds about right".
I know that it's late, but I just found your guys' channel and subscribed. Love your content! Try painting checkers w/ Dystonic Tremors, LOL. I tried one time, went to decals after that =P
love these videos! Great editing makes it fun to watch and listen. Thanks gents!
of all the Orks, i love the Freebooterz the most, pirates with fashion and doesn't afraid of anything!
U Rie AL Ork nu afraid of EnyUn. Bu booterz mor fearles!!
I love Deathskullz rules and abilities. But love Blood Axes coloring and theme/lore. Deciding what color to paint my ork army.
Just found you guys and really enjoy your discussions. I love your relaxed style! subscribed!

I couldn't decide between Snakebites and Goffz but now I am sure that Old ways are best

I started my orks in 8th as Blood axes due to a fun lore tid bit of being the first orks to have contact with the imperium.
Worth mentioning the Gobshite Thunderbuss is a heavy weapon, so it gets the badmoons extra range. Still dont think you want a Big Mek within 18", but still
That gun literally translates to bug shit thunder buss lol
Oh yeah babey, yeah babey, Ork Kultur’s babey, YEAH BABEY
Don't even play table top, but love listening to you guys, found a new thing to listen to at work ! :)
You guys rock! This is exactly the type of video I’ve been looking for. Subscribed
You could get a unit of halflings and paint them green and play them as some kind of boyz, as the halfling's village was invaded by orks so they had to adapt and infiltrate them.
Then there’s that one person that pulls up with an army of massive Krorks
Eye completely agree with the paint as you want idea. I have a small faction of Boyz In my army that I decided to paint after the understanding. That originally orks were going to be red
My new favourite show, can't believe I only just found this channel!
God damnit. Now I want to play orks. Blood Axes and Death Skullz just sound so... ME!
Especially since I grew a reputation for... Tinkering with every kit I get my hands on. xD
You guys are getting subscribers so fast and I love it
0:23 You could say I'm ork curious?!?! lol.
Purple is the sneakiest colour! Have you ever seen a purple ork?
Nice stuff!
@10:00 I won a 3rd spot in a tournament with Evil Sunz. :) I used the extra moves a lot.
Im going blood axes if the kommandos are fun
My Gaz is black and purple and has a chunk of lads painted to match. The rest have an HQ per different clans and some boys and special units to match
Bad moonz iz best! Waaagh!
If i ever play orkz i will have the warlord bring a giant banana with skull painted on with the reason that he misread the name.
Screw canon I'm making purple blood axes

Not in matched play
My orks look like a bag of m&ms and skittles mixed together. Most of them are 2nd hand ebay models that already were painted and they look great as a mob on the table
If you're playing with friends, ask them if they're okay with it. My spouse is playing a "convert" space marines army, with units from loyal, chaos, and primaris.
Always loved Squigs so I gravitate towards the Beast Snagga, specifically Snakebites.
And now with Deathskullz and Grey Knights, I want to loot Dreadknight and turn it to Kill Rig...
And dradknight is quite cheap at one lgs store, might get one soonish for the convertion...
My own Clan of Orks are my faves, along with my own Chapter of Space Marines. I'm not much into the established clans/chapters. It's more fun to come up with your own stuff.
With bad moonz. The relic is 'eavy, so wouldn't it get +6" range?
Huh. So, the Evil Suns rules are actually really close to the Saim-Hann craftworld special rules, included removing the penalty to assault weapons.

Just found this channel, and yes. Orks.
@Poorhammer : Pray do tell where you got those awesome orky text boxes to display the Clan rules in?
It’d be cool if purple actually had a unique ability
You just can't see them
FML do you two know how many EFFING orky boyz I have to print now to field 3 ENTIRELY DIFFERENT ork armies???? Battlescribe is about to overheat my phone...
Eh, kustom shoota is option for Warboss and Big Mek in Mega Armour and Nob with WAAAGH! banner has it too...
Evil Sunz were so much better in 8th edition when dakka weapons were still Assault and you got +1 to charge rolls, too. im here because you guys are great backgorund sound i dont even play the table top just love the setting and video games
Brad's voice reminds me of Randall in Ugly Americans. Dunno why.
1:42 sans mek
as much as i love pirates im probably just gonna end up going goffz because i dont actually want to use my brain too much i just wanna screw around.
I believe you missed the shokk attack sniper deathskull
I just read the title and had to hit Like lol
No mention of Badrukk? :)
Death Skullz is best ork klan!
the "a" in "dakka" is pronounced like the "a" in "axe". it's supposed to sound like heavy gunfire.
Great video lads!
I actually started Orks 3 weeks ago. Having loads of fun with the Combat Patrol atm.
I decided to paint them in a mix. Some are blue, some are red, some are yellow. Properly chaotic and orky and I don’t have to decide on a single sceme^^
You don't prime your pieces to paint?
can you mix ork clans now, or is it some kind of subfaction of only those clans as a choice?
9th ed was rude becasue they turned 2/3 of the assault weapons into dakka or heavy weapons
I mean, have you ever seen a purple ork? Didn't think so.
PURPUL IZ DA COLUR OV STEALF!!!!!
Something for the algorithm
My Orks are from the wrong universe. They are the fighting Uruk-Hai. Servants of the White Hand
Well I liked your joke...
I don't painting cause i play all klanz
How do you reed codexes for free?
Waaaghapedia probably.
ive still not forgiven free booters for what they did to my buggies
My idea for the optimal color scheme:
- Yellow ranged weapons
- black melee weapons
- blue body-armor
- leather west
- "camouflage"-headgear
- purple facepaint
- red boots
Orks are Xenos scum. HOWEVER, their gestalt is amazingly bonkers and, at the same, a lot of food for thought.
I find your lack of faith in Trukk mobs disturbing.
Ugh I didn't come here for rules it spoils this.
Kitbashing an Ork model seems a little redundant...
My Clan is all painted in pride colors, each unit of boys, nobz etc. All a different flag. Storm boyz are ace woth garlic bread painted on the rockets.
Why? Why do you need to make your hobby about your sexuality? Be original and have a personality.
1 trough 10: they're orks, WAAAGH
Snake Bites, the Amish of the Orks.
