You CAN hide the Stompa in the bushes using the warlord trait "I've got a plan, Ladz!" It allows you to redeploy a blood axes unit (any unit) into strategic reserves! "At the end of the Deploy Armies step, select up to three BLOOD AXES units from your army and redeploy them. If the mission uses the Strategic Reserves rules, any of those units can be placed into Strategic Reserves without having to spend any additional CPs, regardless of how many units are already in Strategic Reserves. If both players have abilities that redeploy units, roll off; the winner chooses who redeploys their units first." So yes, you CAN have a sneaky stompa!
Now I have this image in my head of a purple Stompa sneaking around the battlefield Loony Toons style taking turns shooting things and sitting perfectly still pretending to be part of the terrain 🤣 Thanks Eric!
I already wanted to get blood axes but this list gave me an idea. The gimmick for my Boyz is that they are ‘masters of disguise’ which means they wear space marine helmets like hats. Now I have an idea to paint a stompa with the ultramarines color scheme and symbols.
You could also do a shooty blood axe army that have mass psychosis and believe they are an imperial guard regiment and worship the emperor as a mighty war God.
The Distraction Stompa talk of a "Baneblade in the bushes"... Back in the day, Snikrot _could_ Infiltrate ANY UNIT, I believe. So yeah, there was potential to just suddenly have a Stompa show up behind enemy lines.

Youve mentioned in a couple videos some guides to making the most out of ork kits and getting extra models from them. Do you happen to have links to those resources?
Love this, looking forward to more to come in 10th ed. Plus also exactly how I like to build an army. Fun and thematic, but keeping one eye on it being actually usable - mostly (looking at you Stompa)
fun little fact, Markari's FNP banner ability goes to Ork models within range, meaning the Stompa does receive that 6+ FNP, this stupid little combo led me to running a Stompa, Ghaz/Markari, 2 kill rigs and a warboss on warbike into a RTT which some major players in the Midwest and still went 2 and 1. Stompa is dumb but hitting a knight in melee for 54 damage is difficult to argue with. (the Ramming speed stratagem giving the Stompa a 3d6 charge really makes it surprisingly quick for getting into a melee fight). Though it did explode in the one game I lost in my line, 3d6" for d6 mortals certainly doesn't help your chances to win turn 1 against Tau...
The Infinite and The Divine single handedly revived my interest in 40k books (currently preparing to dive into Warhammer Crime). Excellent choice to cover, everyone go read it!
My favorite thing in 10th is gonna be sitting a group of flash gitz in a truck or a battlewagon and just running it around the battlefield poking at stuff
They can be, if you're buying retail. That's fine if you want everything to be the same and days not da Ork way. One, buy used. I picked up a GALLON of Ork bits for about a hundred bucks. Inside was more than enough Boyz to pay for the whole thing, and everything else was free. Two, convert. Hobby lobby's plastic model section is routinely 40% off. Using that, some plasticard that you can get cheap on the same aisle or online, and some nail art pearls for rivets, and any cool toy you find at a garage sale, you can make anything you want. I just converted a gargantuan squiggoth that looks more imposing than the forgeworld one for less than 100$. Yes it takes time, but if you aren't enjoying yourself making your army you might as well just buy something painted by someone else and save your time
I like Distraction Gargantuan Squiggoth with Super Cannon and 15 Flashgitz hanging off. Then run a truck for 1 of your boys to take to your opponents back line to support your Stormboys trying to flank. Just puts a lot of forward pressure on a lot of armies that they have to deal with
I want to believe that GW one day will remember that 40k is a satire game and will make Gretchin Revolution Committee into a proper faction (since having them with orks seems kind of excessive to me, plus we have tons of armies for SM and xenos need some of that too)
honestly i feel all GW would have to do is bring back a couple of the old tools orks had such as canons, mortars, HMG nests, scrap shotguns, and above all else the "looted vehicle" rules. if you made an ACTUAL Grot Guard? with looted IG vehicles and Grots lead by Nobissars? oh yeah that's be fun
@@meganobgutzkraka2398 grot guard isn’t something I was looking for but more along the way of Gllomspite Gitz masquerading as revolutionists. And you can give them all the non orky cannons and artillery add some independent grots and a sprinkle of AoS gitz weirdness and you have an army that can have all the crazy design ideas that are too out there for orks or wahammer in general while still being in line with everything else
My 9th edition list, prior to the Aircraft nerf was 9 Deff Dreads, 1 Morkanaut with KFF, 1 unit of 6 Killa Kans, 2 Wazboom Blasta Jets, 1 Warboss on a Squig, I took down every single meta list you can think of. Tau? NP. Termies with 4++ invluns, can't be wounded on 1-3, Daemons, Knights, you name it, that list wrecked it.

I started cackling at Erics army list, it seems that Grey Knight is turning more into a "Green Git">:P like sure, Morkanaught, Gorkanaught, and Ghaz is better, but cmon man A STOMPA! also in regards to a Dakka List, I once say a battle report of Chaos Marines and Khorne Demons vs Bad Moons Orks, this was around the time orks gave those cooler 6's that gave an extra shot each instead of the AP+1 bad moonz gives them today. the orks had a mek with a KFF, a stompa, and just an ABSOLUTE TRUKKLOAD OF DAKKA, i remember shootas, maybe a gorkanaught, but i just remember everything was shooty, not punchy. this ork player put all his guys on the side of the board and never moved them, so chaos had to charge him. it was either in turn 1 or 2, but chaos had to move his bloodthirster to try to charge these gits obviously... the orks were next, aimed every single shoota they had at the bloodthirster, and turned that bull into swiss cheese. it was the funniest thing i ever saw
Krieg cavalry force: regimental doctrine: recon operators and swift as the wind. force orginization slot:Death rider command squad. Hq:lord solar, marshal karis death rider squadron commander. Troop:3xdeath korps. Elites: 3x death rider command squads and one death rider commissar. Fast attack 3×10 man attilan rough rider squads. Flyer:thunderbolt. Transports: 3 storm chimeras let them feel the thunder of hooves
My god, you CAN run 27 warbikes! I currently have a troop-heavy Deathskulls/Beast Snagga army, but i think i'm gonna grab the warbikes instead of the squighog boyz next!
that Dakka list.. that's just terrifying.. All i can her is "RUSH"EM BOYS!!"" and the sound of motorcycle engines and the Night Shoot at the Knob Creek Gun Range.
While "Distraction Stompa" TM is still possible, another valid option that carries the same potential(albeit less fun) right now is running the Mork+Gorkanauts, shoving a full unit of flash gitz in each, and then giving Ghaz two meganobz, while still keeping the stormboyz, kommandos, and Snickrot. Retains the objective and mission control potential while still allowing you to wreak havoc on the front lines. Although, again, you have to sacrifice the Stompa which is a veritable downgrade in the fun department.
Question from a newer player: Would More Dakka work as an Evil Sunz list instead of a Bad Moons list? How would you guys recommend adjusting it to be ES instead? Not much of a mechanical reason, I just like going fast and using red paint.
Hot take maybe, but I wish someone would make a turn based rts, like warhammer III but for 40K I would play THE HECK out of that. If anyone has a way to replicate that since I really don’t have much time to set up games in person please tell me I beg of you
I haz seriuz rezurvashuns bout da tactikal finking at work ere... every Lad knowz dat dere iz only one way to Ork proper. Yer just give da gitz a proper crumpin!
I’m feeling the blood axe list, but with one alteration. Instead of the stompa and Ghaz being your distraction point a big mek with a absolute ton of killa kanz. Kanz are the kind of unit people either assume are an absolute joke and then end up very unpleasantly surprised when they shoot decently and hack stuff up in melee or they over focus on them while the Mek keeps them going just long enough for the kommandos and storm boys to do their jobs.
the distraction stompa/kommando ork list is the most fun list Ive ever heard of. now I wish I had orks and could play something like that... oh well, here I go spending like 1500 euros again
I have not played with or painted a single model of any wh40k faction but I was immediately drawn to kommandoz and storm boyz and their looney tunes rockets. and here is one list. i don't care if it's good, it just looks so fun
After watching this video I went and bought a stompa. I’m going to the Timmy the shit out of that list. But no ghaz I will take a morkanaut and gorkanaut instead
Dakka lists work (or used to before 9th... don't wanna play 9th) ! I've run them, and you have to roleplay them :) Make your enemy think you're stupid / ork. And they will forget about all the objectives you get.... The advantage of the shootas is that you're still doing damage even if you cannot charge. And the number of shots just tends to add up. Just running them over the board while the rest distracts, suddenly you had orks in your face, with just one attack less (but 3 more before the charge - it ends up mathematically the same except... you get more tactical flexibility) .
Have you considered running Nobz as an elite-focused green tide? Maybe Trukks and/or a Weirdboy with Da Jump to fling them around there board would be the most efficient way of running this list? I’d suggest the Chinork Warkopta but that got Legends’ed.
I'm playing the Greentide list when i simply wanna have some real fun. And when i play greentide, i usually give them 9 Killakans with Bigmek as frontline cover and Kommandoz or Stormboyz as flankers. But i can play other lists too when i desire like Waaghbike spam with Nob spam. And i play Orks since 2. Edition.
Before they cap detachments I had a speedwaaagh list with 54 bikes, 27 nob bikes + 27 warbikes + some other stuff, 700 shots in turn one if i recall correctly
I feel like the Distraction Stompa really brought out Eric’s inner ork right there. The “this is so stupid that it’s smart” level of Orky kunnin’.
Sneaky gits can do sneakin betta if da enemy is lookin the otha way

(the Ramming speed stratagem giving the Stompa a 3d6 charge really makes it surprisingly quick for getting into a melee fight).
Though it did explode in the one game I lost in my line, 3d6" for d6 mortals certainly doesn't help your chances to win turn 1 against Tau...
The Infinite and The Divine single handedly revived my interest in 40k books (currently preparing to dive into Warhammer Crime). Excellent choice to cover, everyone go read it!
Great episode! Thanks for making my Thursdays better. I'm looking forward to a Custodes episode with this theme!
My favorite thing in 10th is gonna be sitting a group of flash gitz in a truck or a battlewagon and just running it around the battlefield poking at stuff
God, Orks seem SO expensive and time intensive
We have a thriving 3D printing community for that reason, which helps a great deal with the cost. Unfortunately not much you can do about the time.
Just puts a lot of forward pressure on a lot of armies that they have to deal with
What about the good ol’ green tide Goff strategy?
I want to believe that GW one day will remember that 40k is a satire game and will make Gretchin Revolution Committee into a proper faction (since having them with orks seems kind of excessive to me, plus we have tons of armies for SM and xenos need some of that too)
If you read the recent novel Warboss, that may just be around the corner
The two silly things I want to return to the game are mass Gretchen, and mass Cultists. Humans vs Goblins LETS GOO!
Even having them as any army of renown, with special rules like speed freeks would be cool!
honestly i feel all GW would have to do is bring back a couple of the old tools orks had such as canons, mortars, HMG nests, scrap shotguns, and above all else the "looted vehicle" rules.
if you made an ACTUAL Grot Guard? with looted IG vehicles and Grots lead by Nobissars? oh yeah that's be fun
My plan is like that kommandos tactic, but with squigboys as "distraction"
You take Zogrod with your melee hero to back him up. Take down demons and monsters
This is my bad moons list that I’ve played for about a year

I started cackling at Erics army list, it seems that Grey Knight is turning more into a "Green Git">:P
like sure, Morkanaught, Gorkanaught, and Ghaz is better, but cmon man A STOMPA!
also in regards to a Dakka List, I once say a battle report of Chaos Marines and Khorne Demons vs Bad Moons Orks, this was around the time orks gave those cooler 6's that gave an extra shot each instead of the AP+1 bad moonz gives them today.
the orks had a mek with a KFF, a stompa, and just an ABSOLUTE TRUKKLOAD OF DAKKA, i remember shootas, maybe a gorkanaught, but i just remember everything was shooty, not punchy.
this ork player put all his guys on the side of the board and never moved them, so chaos had to charge him.
it was either in turn 1 or 2, but chaos had to move his bloodthirster to try to charge these gits obviously...
the orks were next, aimed every single shoota they had at the bloodthirster, and turned that bull into swiss cheese. it was the funniest thing i ever saw
The Codex Orksarties supports these lists.
Should have taken 2 Nob Biker squads and a nother warboss on bike in the Dakka List.
drop dread flashgitz and grot tank
Question from a newer player: Would More Dakka work as an Evil Sunz list instead of a Bad Moons list? How would you guys recommend adjusting it to be ES instead? Not much of a mechanical reason, I just like going fast and using red paint.
i would use only stompas if i could
Hot take maybe, but I wish someone would make a turn based rts, like warhammer III but for 40K I would play THE HECK out of that. If anyone has a way to replicate that since I really don’t have much time to set up games in person please tell me I beg of you
if i where to play Orks, it would be The Old ways. :D
but got way to many 40k armies (Soon 7) and got 2 AoS armies, where one being Squigs :D
What if you paint the Stompa purple tho?
@6:10. Grots in 5th could have "Feel no Pain". SUPER Grots. :)
I have not played with or painted a single model of any wh40k faction but I was immediately drawn to kommandoz and storm boyz and their looney tunes rockets. and here is one list. i don't care if it's good, it just looks so fun
I mean, it's Orks. You don't Forgeworld. You LOOK at Forgeworld, and then make your own from scrap.
Would love a four ways to play: Chaos Daemons! Or just throw nurgle in the trash and do three ways to play: Daemons.. :(
After watching this video I went and bought a stompa. I’m going to the Timmy the shit out of that list. But no ghaz I will take a morkanaut and gorkanaut instead
ORKS IS BEST!!!
I can't wait for the warhammer 40k cinematic universe civil war between poorhammer, adric, and adeptus podcastus
I was dying laughing at the distraction stompa... you guys are awesome
Really hoping for a new grot release, maybe in some killteam? 🤔
I actually won a RTT with Bad Moons. I used tankbustas and flash Gitz in squiggoths
New Warhammer player and enjoyed this. Can’t wait for your deffkopta list with fortunate son on repeat.
Gargantuan squiggoth filled with Flash gitz. you're welcome.
Why Flashgitz in a Stompa? They can take any infantry. So shove more kommandos in there.
And yes I used to run a lot of Nob nikers back then. And I got like 40 warbikes that I could put down, so maybe I should try that list... :P
SHOOTAH BOYS REPRESENT!!!!!!!
Can you guys do tyranids!? Maybe Invite your wife to help!
Why not a different distrcation to Ghaz. Like a squiggoth loaded with lootas
I'm a fan of this series. I like seeing all the fun troop combinations.
Imperial knights list named:
Oops, All Armigers!
:D
I made a bad moon ork list for my first list I have two full units of shootas lol it shoota 130 something shots
Have you considered running Nobz as an elite-focused green tide? Maybe Trukks and/or a Weirdboy with Da Jump to fling them around there board would be the most efficient way of running this list? I’d suggest the Chinork Warkopta but that got Legends’ed.
Yeahhh!!! WAAAAGGGHHHH!!!!!!
3 WAYS TO PLAY IS SUPER DOPE TOO! 🎉🎉😅😊
Edition.
Better paint that Stompa in camo since it’s a Blood Axe Stompa.
Before they cap detachments I had a speedwaaagh list with 54 bikes, 27 nob bikes + 27 warbikes + some other stuff, 700 shots in turn one if i recall correctly
