Hey everyone, pinned comment guy here: 1. If you're reading this, please take a second to do the whole set of UA-cam pleasantries, it means a lot on episodes like this. Check that you're subscribed and getting notified of new episodes getting posted. Mono-faction episodes (except Space Marines) never do great numbers, but liking and commenting help them succeed a little more. No matter what we won't stop making episodes like this though, we just enjoy them and know they can help newer players to a faction. 2. Thank you to all the people who are signing up to our Patreon today, I am eternally grateful to you all. We really appreciate the reliable income source given what happened to last week's episode. If you wanted to join but couldn't find a link here it is: www.patreon.com/SolelySingleton 3. If you're one of the people ordering the objective markers right now please remember to click the "Six" if you want a full table's worth. I will feel bad if people accidentally order 1 when they meant to grab a full set. You can find them back in stock here: orchideight.com/collections/poorhammer
Great videos as always UA-cam should get a person that understand how wonderful you guys are. With chaos being a pretty good codex maybe you guys could do a review on that
@LL4MAx I'd clearly not make a good worshipper of Nurgle in that case 😂. The OCD is way too strong with me. I'd likely fall to Slaanesh. Being excessive and seeking perfection sounds more like me 🤫.
@aerynmusick4548 I respect it, I'm just already three factions deep (two of which are hordes) and a 4th army of greenskinz would probably cost me a kidney.
I have yet to play anything but casual, but my Stompa(s) have survived far more anti-vehicle than they should. I can only assume some big green guy above found it equally funny.
I love the fact that someone actually tracked the metrics for those cheap dice poppers and the number being bought just massively spiked the moment 'Press Da Button' got revealed as the detachment rule.
That """manual review""" was probably just someone scrolling through the auto-generated transcript, seeing bad words, and dismissing it. Saw the same thing happen to a UA-camr with a heavy accent that made it sound like he was swearing sometimes to the auto-transcriber.
I dunno, I feel like seeing a 90 minute UA-cam video about some random topic and being told in one spot they said a bad word, saying fuck it, and clicking deny in thirty seconds feels like the most human thing someone at UA-cam would do. Awesome as always, looking forward to more. ^_^
Counterpoint, doing Null Maiden Vigil is still fucking up because that means you own the maximum amount of Sisters of Silence you can legally field, AND like, four rhinos.
I just ordered the codex!! Can't wait to get it. Since 3rd edition, I've switched from Dark Angels to Fallen Dark Angels and now Orkz. I have an old 3e Warboss, 40 boyz, Lootaz, Burnas and rokkits to start with a converted rhino as a trukk. 50 shades of green on the tabletop. Poorhammer, you guys are awesome btw
To me the best part of these detachments is I don’t have to paint my Orks in any color scheme to get the bonuses. You want Bully boys Bad Moons cool do it. If I want to play Goffs Speed freaks then I can. Clans are just fun fluff again. I sooooo prefer things that way. It’s how I started Orks, Clan was just your armies story not how they Had to be played.
The crude biomass Brad calls a temple withers, and he begs our kind to like/comment/subscribe. But we have already liked/commented/subscribed, for the UA-cam Algorithm is immortal.
Me, a Sisters player who never unboxed the orks she did own before selling them on: Yes, I should listen to this. Hope our codex is this good! Only 4 detachments sucks but honestly that feels like its just the new standard...
Dread mob is fun but not simple or nearly as effective as the other detachments. In one round of shooting my morkanaut did 12 wounds to itself, i was even using 2 cp for the bigger shells and dakka dakka dakka and even still i did less than 12 wound to the enemy. Gonna try a stompa next time, the obvious solution is use a bigger gun.
Just in case we needed another reason for digital rules, instead of getting "here's all your rules for the next three years, if you don't like them get fucked" GW could just throw out new detachments individually like they did for Drukhari. I feel like most people would appreciate "Surprise, new way to play your army!" every now and then.
I know I’m hardly the first to say this, but it is astonishing how wide the quality gulf between the AdMech and Ork codexes is. It is a night and day difference.
Likely 2 different teams. Look at the huge gap at addition launch between Eldar, custodes, and CSM and the opposite end Admech, death guard, and votan.
Ork Codex: "Like this one unit? Here's an ability to make it better in general." AdMech Codex: "Your big stompy robots get to use the army rule, which they couldn't before."
This codex is one of the first things thats gotten me into orks. I like shooting more than melee, so i dont think ill spend any time on them this edition, but ill always keep an eye on em thanks to you.
god damn, i only recently came ascross and started listening to you guys, but hearing you discuss don beveridge and the RLM gang, you've got me for life.
If im not mistaken, the big hunt does have a fallback of being able to choose characters, and if you're playing a horde infantry, then you probably want characters in some of the units to buff them so I dont think you're left completely out to dry
As someone who uses these videos to sleep, thank you for changing the end credits song!! Don't get me wrong, the old one sounds great, but I can't remember the amount of times I'd begun to drift off before being started awake by it. I am yet to be disturbed by the new one!
I love how I can have a deff dread with 4 kustom mega blastas and do 4 hazardous rolls that I have to make on 3+ to potentially blow up turn 1 if I fail 3
Your new episode releases always are a high point in my week. Just want to say, patreon member here but I listen on UA-cam as my little part for the algo. Started airbrushing last week after the push I needed from the episode, so this week’s subject is perfect timing for a gorkanaut I’ve had waiting in the backlog 😎😎😎 Cheers!
Something I’ve heard about UA-cam is that if you try to fight it publicly on social media and such, even tweeting @youtube, they’re much more responsive. This may only apply to bigger channels, but it’s could be worth a shot.
Sorry to hear you've been messed around by UA-cam, but it was the final push that signed me up to your Patreon and a long overdue thanks for producing such fun and regular content. It's honestly the thing I look forward to most on UA-cam each week. Hope you have better times ahead
As someone who ran Green Tide with a mere 50 Boyz (I would have had more if the 9th Edition codex didn't make them so bad...), I can confirm that it is absolutely worth it with only two maxed-out mobs. Turns out having a 5+ invuln all the time really helps their durability, and getting full re-rolls to wound for only 1 CP is bonkers. 10/10 detachment, so glad it's back.
I was actually building my first Ork Combat Patrol as I was watching this video! Got it in this morning, so excited to get through it all. First set I made was the Rundherd and Gretchin set, so it is nice to hear that IF I would choose to play the game my faction would not be bad!
Tried my Beast Snaggaz with Da Big Hunt against my spouse's Green Tide, and WHOMPED em! Got my squigs up the board quick with Glory Hog and WAAAGH, and tied up half his points in turn 1. Hell yeah, orks is sittin pretty this edition!
As someone who just straight up didn't realize how much of a staple Eric's "Sounds good" was to the podcast until the 100 Questions episode pointed it out (I literally glossed over it every time), hearing Brad meticulously sound it out at the beginning truly had me tickled pink. So delightfully awkward, like trying to cross your arms a different way.
I’m glad people are pushing the whopper button. The airbrush video was a great video too. UA-cam’s whole review system has pretty much been worthless since day one, and I’m sorry to hear it’s still effecting probably every UA-cam channel. It’s nice to hear you guys actually still excited for the game, cause lord knows there’s a million things to complain about. When something hits home…it’s worth getting excited over. Also keep up the great work Berilio!
I definitely prefer this kinda “detachment” thing to the old “each clan is a specific play style”, mainly because it allows more freedom with homebrew lore. Like for example, my Orks are Blood Axes (or maybe Freeboota’s depending on how you look at it), but I’m using the Bully Boyz detachment because part of my homebrew lore for them has them be few in number, but those that they do have are really really strong, so I get to run 15 Nobz instead of having to go with Kommandos or bust
if I ever get around to starting an Ork army I'd probably lean heavily into the scrapyard side of things considering I wanna junk scrap build all of my vehicles. nothing from a kit. But I'd also probably have a Blood Axe side of things mostly of boyz, kommandoz and maybe some looted/payment vehicle standins. like a looted open-topped Chimera instead of the regular wartrukk model.
The next "Every Faction's ..." video should be one that isn't a lay-up for the Imperium. Do Every Faction's Nurgling. It's like the caltrops in D&D. You're not killing anyone with it. They're there to inconvenience the enemy, primarily, and maybe slow them down enough to aid your offensive maneuvers.
I'll admit, I wasn't that into WH40k at first and looked at the lore just because I got a big mini painting kit that came with some space marines in it, but after discovering the ork lore I'm hooked on them. I'm kinda where Eric is at for orky things I think, so listening to him nerd out is great. Sorry to hear about YT being YT. I hope they don't mess with whatever you'd get from premium money over it.
I started with Tau and then set them aside in favor of an all grot army. Most of my army is legends now, sure, but the codex is so good that I'm fine with it and have basically relegated my Tau to storage for 11th edition.
I have been successfully guilted into commenting... This time... Thank you for all the free content, this has quickly become one of my favorite podcasts!
Nobz in bully boys - recommend trying two min units with warbosses in a trukk. It's a lot of flexibility, it fills in the points after you've taken three units of meganobz and the on foot warboss without mega armour gets +5 attacks during waaagh instead of +1. Good strength and AP and 2 damage, they go nuts.
Doing my part for the algorithm, all while painting up Ufthak! Definitely wish I could get around to playing orks, one of the factions I debated getting into at the start of 9th edition. Still, it puts a big smile on my face to see da boyz getting their time to shine! And doing so with needing anything more than maybe a minor slap on the wrist, heh.
It's honestly surprising to me how much love Orks seem to get from GW recently. I guess it shouldn't be that weird, they are a army that should be a lot of fun from both a model and rules perspective. Still, even so, I genuinly did not expect them to get a Codex this good. Unless they get nerfed into the ground, I expect this to be a very fun edition. Personally looking forward to trying out Dread Mobs the most, since that was a detachment idea I wanted to see pretty much the moment those rules were revealed.
About the bullyboyz balancing, I think they should adjust the Stratagem cost(it all cost 1) and the price of some of the enhancements. That way, Meganobz can still be a decent option for other lists, but for the Bullyboyz, you should be paying a bit of a premium "in some way" for the extra Waaagh bonus. Increasing the cost of some of the stratagems should be easy enough. Several of them are really strong during the Waaagh(which means, 40% of the time).
16:50 The Stompa isn’t trash this edition. Auspex did a video and showed how if you stack the mek accuracy bonus and some strats it can actually do stuff. This also means that if you’re just getting into the game and want to play orks the most cost effective way of getting a 2000 point army is just getting two stompa battleforces for 2200 points.
Been curious if I could get feedback on this ork army I made: Defkilla wartrike, Ghaz, Mozzrog, a weird boy 2 10 man beast snaggas and 3 10 man boyz A Dakkajet, two deff dreads , a 3 man of kopptas, 2 10 man kommandos, a Megatrakk scrapjet, and a 5 man of stormboyz
560 bolter shots to kill 5 megaknobz is crazy. And then the green tide is even crazier. There is no room for you to move vs the green tide. I am glad our local ork player likes 'da big hunt' and mainly plays that, cayse the other options sound fun for the ork player and not for the rest of us.

I guess it shouldn't be that weird, they are a army that should be a lot of fun from both a model and rules perspective. Still, even so, I genuinly did not expect them to get a Codex this good. Unless they get nerfed into the ground, I expect this to be a very fun edition. Personally looking forward to trying out Dread Mobs the most, since that was a detachment idea I wanted to see pretty much the moment those rules were revealed.
that flashbang into auspex transition was so funny xd
I'd argue that the dred mob is the shootiest one. Apart from that, wonderful stuff as always.
My sons Kult of Speed is awesome! Max warbikes all with a wartrike attached.
It's debatable whether it's truly worth the points, but it is the best it's been since I started playing in 7th.
I love them good mean green boys and I'm definitely buying the objective markers as soon as I get paid
Brad's sickness makes him always sound detached and uninterested in whatever's going on.
And Eric just always sounds like that.

Been curious if I could get feedback on this ork army I made:
Defkilla wartrike, Ghaz, Mozzrog, a weird boy
2 10 man beast snaggas and 3 10 man boyz
A Dakkajet, two deff dreads , a 3 man of kopptas, 2 10 man kommandos, a Megatrakk scrapjet, and a 5 man of stormboyz
Planes, in a sample list? Its beautiful...
