    Great review, perhaps you could put a small amount of plastic tubing around the contact points on the kickstand to prevent noise (rattling) and wear produced whilst riding over bumpy surfaces! I've subscribed. Thanks for sharing the very informative review, it's appreciated. Safe riding.

    Thanks for this informative and comprehensive review. I am looking to get the GT rohloff Supercharger 2, so an unbiased review of a Riese and Mueller bike is really helpful. I am 184cm tall and reasonably strong, so the weight doesn’t put me off (even though I am getting into later middle age). It would certainly be a factor for my wife though as it would make it difficult for her to have to muscle around at slow speeds.

      Great to know the video was helpful.
      Can I ask why you're looking at the Supercharger 2 instead of the Superdelite? The dual suspension seems like a great feature to me.
      Cheers!

      Ruirodtube Good question. Price is a big consideration. Plus I like the higher load limit of the Supercharger 2 rear rack. I like the simplicity of the hard tail design. Having said that, I have an open mind. I still have an open mind. If the Super Delite is clearly superior I will still consider it. Have you ridden both and how did you think they compare? I want to buy an ebike that I can own and enjoy for a long time, which is why I am drawn to the Riese and Muller. Which is w

      @Bruiser 64 I just traded my 2018 Supercharger in on the Super Delite Rohloff. I highly recommend the Supercharger. R&M can only improve on the 2020 model. The Cane Creek Thudbuster should be on the latest Supercharger: I have 2 spinal injuries & I rode 5,900km on the Supercharger with NO issues, I highly rate it.

      @@holyfox94 Hi, I got the Riese and Muller GT Rohloff Supercharger 2. I have had it since August 2020. I have no regrets whatsoever. It really has the feel of a premium product. It is comfortable, stable, and reliable. Everything works really well on it. I am pleased I bought the dual battery version as I never experience range anxiety. If you can afford one, I really recommend them.

    Just ordered one with Rohloff. The Rohloff was a must because I live in very steep terrain.
    I don’t know if I should’ve ordered the Superdelite.🤔
    I didn’t because I don’t like the wobbly feeling of a Fully.

    Very nice video, and great it's not from a dealership or the company! Thanks for taking the time to create an independent review! Did they design their bikes yet so that you can have forward power and not have to peddle? Is there regenerative braking?

    • @ruirodtube
      @ruirodtube  4 роки тому

      Hi, thanks for the compliment. I'm glad you liked it. I always look for independent reviews before making such an expensive purchase. I'm hoping this will help future buyers.
      This e-bike requires pedalling to benefit from assistance.
      It doesn't have regenerative braking.
      Cheers!

    Congrats for this new bike. How much would you rate the comfort ? Comfortable or Very comfortable !
    It’s a good review however I am a bit disappointed. You said your first impression of the bike is quite good. I was expecting very good instead. Let’s see what your appreciation will be in the long run. I am waiting for a Delite GT touring.

    • @ruirodtube
      @ruirodtube  4 роки тому

      Thanks!
      I didn't rate it very good because of the heavy weight and because of the not-so-comfortable saddle.
      I also don't quite see how I'll be able to carry something on the forward rack without it interfering with the headlight (because the headlight turns with the handle bar while the rack doesn't).
      I believe the Delite will be a better choice if you don't want to go for very long rides. Let me know what you think about it.
      Cheers!

      Hello,
      I have studied the question a lot before ordering the bike and I still have second thoughts with my purchase ! With the HS version there are no others options than the Super Delite. Your range will be limited with the Delite HS version. Regarding the front rack, I am going to fit it with a MIK adapter and a BASIL trunk bag ( 7-15 liters). Anyway the load is limited to 5 kgs on the front rack.

    This is my dream electric bike (one day maybe!). Incidentally, given that it’s an electric bike, you seem to be putting in a lot of effort riding it - are you trying to conserve energy?

    • @ruirodtube
      @ruirodtube  4 роки тому +4

      Hi Rob, I'm not trying to conserve energy but once the bike goes beyond 25 km/h the electric assistance stops and you have to keep it rolling exclusively on your muscle strength.
      This is indeed a dream bike and if you can get it I'd highly recommend it. I keep my car in the garage more and more, which saves me money.
      Cheers!

    Congrats on your new ebike! I enjoyed your video and your remarks about your new Superdelite. But you sounded surprised that your new bike is so heavy, as if you never test rode one before you purchased. Is that true? Also, you rode through some very beautiful countryside with superb cycle paths! Where do you live? I wish we had such bike paths here in California like you have! My wife and I ordered Superdelites a few weeks ago (after you did), and we are still waiting for them to arrive! We are very excited! Anyway, I wish you many, many happy kilometers ahead with your new ride! Best wishes!

    • @ruirodtube
      @ruirodtube  4 роки тому +4

      Thanks! I was surprised indeed because I couldn't take a test ride before ordering it. The local supplier was closed for weeks due to the current pandemic and when it opened it didn't have the newest model for testing. Furthermore for financial reasons they don't keep a stock of expensive bikes for testing. I was able to hop on a regular Superdelite to test frame size but I couldn't take it out of the shop.

    • @ruirodtube

      I live in Luxembourg where the cycle paths are indeed spectacular. That day I rode 130 kms almost exclusively on cycle paths like that and there are a whole lot more like them around the country. A truly great resource! We have shorter summers compared to California but when the sun is out people are out enjoying the countryside.
      I hope you get your Superdelites soon. I took delivery of mine earlier than expected but I'm not sure how fast they ship them to America. I hope Cargolux will fly a couple of them to you soon. Let me know when you get them!

    • @ruirodtube
      @ruirodtube  4 роки тому

      They told me one and a half month but I got it sooner. I'm not sure about the delays for the USA.
      Mine cost approx 7.000 €. If you order the Rohloff option, plus GX and so on it can get a lot more expensive.
      Which model and options do you have in mind?

    • @flyshacker
      @flyshacker 4 роки тому

      mwj5368 - I’m in California, and I was told 1.5 months. Usually it take 3 months here, but my bike dealer is paying extra for express (air) shipping from Germany. Superdelite prices vary considerably depending on what you get. You can confirm a price at the R&M website based on the features you want.

    Thank you for your reviews. Very helpful. Do you know about the compatibility of the bosch smartphone hub with superdelite (45kmh, rohloff el. Shift)? My dealer in Switzerland said, it doesn‘t work. Is there an alternative to integrate the samrtphone?

    • @ruirodtube
      @ruirodtube  4 роки тому

      Hi,
      You’re welcome! I’m glad they help.
      Unfortunately the SmartphoneHub isn’t compatible with the electronic shifting of the Rohloff E-14.
      If you want to have the SmartphoneHub option, like I did, you must select either the Vario or the Touring versions.
      I’m very happy with the Vario. It’s a step-less CVT (constant variable transmission) with reduced “gear” range of 380% but it works fine on most roads.
      Cheers!

    Is it better than your Cube?

    • @ruirodtube
      @ruirodtube  4 роки тому +1

      Good question.
      Each bike is better in its specific task. You can't ride on rocky/muddy terrain uphill on the Superdelite and you can't ride cycle paths for 150 kms on the Cube.
      It's like a dirt bike vs a Harley Davidson.

      I'm just using a GoPro camera. The sound changes when the wind affects the built-in microphone. I believe the camera has some sort of filter that removes the wind noises but then also alters the recording of the voice.
      The alternative is that I wear a separate microphone and I don't want to make it that complicated.
