I have had many good sessions up at Lake Eildon catching reddies & yellas. The yellas always hit hard and will wrap you around a snag if they get the chance and the reddies are the best eating fish of them all. Great video mate :)
Nice feed of yellas Robbie. Getting out and about exploring new fishing spots is all part of the adventure and in many ways more rewarding when you find a new fishing spot
Gday rob Great session, them yellowbelly put up a good show and nice deep bodied fish, bet they eat well..made me giggle when you said your feet were cold, its freezing here with some abnormally cold weather mate... spring has been a disaster for fish and farmers ... Mate hope you and dad enjoyed the feed , best wishes and thank you 😎🏴👋
Hunger strike,er not today folks. Great song,Chris Connell and Eddie vedder. Beautiful fish mate and looked so nice paddling along with not much wind in such a beautiful place. Thank you kindly mate.
Well done Robbie, a great feed for you and your Dad. Ps, I'm glad you got your trolling and trawling sorted out, so many you tubers say they are trawling when they're actually trolling.
Nice yellow Robbie we used fish from the shore near the boat ramp near the wall always caught a reddy or a yellow, haven’t been up there for about 20 years. Should go up and try out the new kayak.
G’day Robbie, love your video, mate. Nice little Yellowbelly, first up 👍🏼. I read today that there is a new worm infecting freshwater fish in NSW. Hopefully they won’t spread, apparently they can make you very sick if the fish isn’t cooked well?
Well done, was there for the couple of days, it was prob 2000 casts for 2 cod between us 68 and 48cm, but heaps of feeding trout when the fog was on the water
we uset to fish eilden 30 years ago and jig for redfin near a tree catch one put a float on him let him go back to the school follow them from tree to tree and finish catching the school love your videos tony
Great spot to fish Robbie I've caught a lot of fish in Eildon ,Brown Trout, Rainbows ,Carp, Cod ,Reddies , Maccas ,Roach and a lot of big Yabbies ,mind you that is over a 60 plus year period ,I have also fished pretty much every River and Creek that flows into it .Keep up the great vids mate.
Thanks so much Rod. WOW, I'm guessing this is your "Home Ground"? Mine is Lake William Hovell. I know that lake backwards, but I've only ever fished in 2 or 3 different places at Lake Eildon.
Good yella Robbie top work. Those rods and reels you use may I ask what rod and reels they are please? bait caster rods and reels are pricey for good quality , I'm thinking of quoting up and deciding but your help would be appreciated. I'll research too😊.
Hi mate, I have links to everything that I used in the video description. That rod is an absolute ripper, I love it. Sadly they are no longer made. It is a Rex Hunt Black Label rod. I bought it at Kmart in Wangaratta back in the 1990's, back when Kmart had good quality fishing gear.
Thanks Brett. Lake Hume isn't mega deep, but it does have some massive trout up to 10lb that get caught each winter. Lake Dartmouth IS mega deep, but doesn't have many big trout.

i've tried trolling on my kayak b4 and man i gotta say its so much better than trolling on a boat: less noise and u can troll easily in shallow waters in silences on the kayak. wat was that device at 10:42?
Thanks mate. That was my DJI battery charger. It holds 3 batteries, and I plug it in and it charges all 3 batteries at once. The DJI charger was in my GoPro box. Surely that is sacrilege? LOL I agree on trolling from the kayak. You can go so much slower than trolling behind a petrol motor.
Awesome video Robbie! I always love your kayaking videos!, I went trolling today but didn’t catch anything sadly. I’ve got a question what trellys do you go to?
Thanks mate. It is a wonderful song, although I think my vocals are not quite as good as the original. I usually start singing this song when I get hungry. LOL
Hi Robbie, thanks for your videos, I enjoy watching them, I also enjoy the fact that you do basic simple fish any that almost any one can replicate and don’t use all the latest rods reals and gismos like fishfinders etc. I’m from Melbourne and am spending a week up the King valley (staying just out of Cheshunt) in about 3 weeks time to fish lake William Hovel and the local creeks and rivers which I like to do each year about this time, but this year I want to try and take my kayak out on lake Buffalo which I have only tried once before with no success, any tips on where on the lake to try or what to use, I’m happy to target anything that is likely to bite this time of year
Hi mate thanks for your kind words. I love Lake William Hovell and hope to get up there soon. Lake Buffalo is definitely the better lake though. More and bigger redfin as well as Murray cod. I find the steep banks with snags are the best for cod and the grassy flats are best for redfin.
I have had many good sessions up at Lake Eildon catching reddies & yellas. The yellas always hit hard and will wrap you around a snag if they get the chance and the reddies are the best eating fish of them all. Great video mate :)
Thanks so much mate. It's a wonderful lake.
G’day mate. There’s not much I like to see more in your videos than you actually taking home a feed. I bet your old man was stoked. Cheers
Thanks Glen, he sure was mate. They were the perfect eating size for yellas.
Nice feed of yellas Robbie. Getting out and about exploring new fishing spots is all part of the adventure and in many ways more rewarding when you find a new fishing spot
Thanks mate, I agree. I love exploring and discovering new spots. Well, new spots to me anyway.
You did well old mate!
Thanks UF.
I love your relaxed & fun attitude towards fishing. It looks so relaxing when you are out fishing in your kayak. Well done mate.
Thanks so much Andrew.
Sometimes them yellow belly hit hard, nice catch Robbie, thanks for taking us on another great adventure
Thanks so much for watching mate..👍👍

Thanks so much Michael. The fish tasted amazing mate. Absolutely beautiful. Best tasting freshwater fish there is.
Love Fishing in Eildon, scattered some of Dads ashes there back in 2015.
Some nice fish you got there mate, keep the Vids coming 🙂
I done the same thing scattered my dad's ashes in 2021 then straight after it got a 89cm Murray cod. Robbie wrote a column and put my photo with it
Thanks so much Biffo. It's such a wonderful place.
Hunger strike,er not today folks. Great song,Chris Connell and Eddie vedder. Beautiful fish mate and looked so nice paddling along with not much wind in such a beautiful place. Thank you kindly mate.
Thanks so much Brett. What a 1 in a million song that was. Two of the best vocalists on the planet.
what an awesome spot and a great son love your work 😊💜🍻
Thank you. It is beautiful there.
Awesome session Robbie, enjoyed this very much 🤙🏻👏
Thanks legend. It's a ripper spot that one..
Nice seeing you explore the waters of Lake Eildon Robbie. Nice yellas!
Thanks Mick. It's certainly an area that I need to explore more.
Well done Robbie, a great feed for you and your Dad. Ps, I'm glad you got your trolling and trawling sorted out, so many you tubers say they are trawling when they're actually trolling.
Including the trolls!
Thanks Mick. Haha I've got it all sorted. Trawling is dragging a net and trolling is dragging a lure. LOL
@@robbiefishing You got it Robbie.
Those yellowbelly were awesome! Great session! 😁🎣
Thanks so much mate.

Very nice session. That first Yella' was awesome. Looked like a gorgeous day to be out on the water. !

Hi mate, it's up near the Ford's Inlet area.

hey robbie just wondering if you could tell me what baitcaster you are using to troll in this video thanks

thanks heaps mate

Yeah would of thought Shepparton, I was going to go to trellys while I was there but didn’t end up going to trellys
Nice scenery mate. I'd like to see you catch a small redfin then put it live on a bigger hook in a dam like that?
Thanks mate. I've done it before. Haha 😂

single hooks robbie?
There was on that first lure mate. That little Damiki is single barbless hooks.
Lovely video
Thanks mate.
Jeez big yella
Sweet yellow belly 👍
Thanks Sharon. It was great eating.
11:25 Robbie just singing hunger strike
Haha what a great song to sing. Even if I did butcher it. LOL 😂😂😂
If the water gets clear enough you would think snorkelling for lost lures might be productive.
If it's not too cold. 😂
Haha I reckon it would be very lucrative. LOL
au great stuff man
Thanks so much mate.

I got a big Sambar Stag on my trail camera last week. It will be featured in my May Monthly Mashup.
