I don't show it in the video because it's not a great thing to encourage in a kayak, but I honestly reckon it helped with my back.

Good to see yellas in that area again mate . We only seem to catch cod and troutys when around there in previous years. Been getting dozens and dozens of yellas in our rivers close to home And a lot less cod then we use to before the floods.

One suggestion for you Robbie. By some clips and rope. Clip EVERYTHING to your kayak. If you have a whoopsie you won’t lose gear. Learnt my lesson years ago.

It was actually a sit on top, same as yours, even had a good seat. The rowing action was the issue, need to invest in a pedal kayak. BTW, you can use that repellent tip in a vid if you wish. Very handy. Rod Harrison told me once that they used thick coconut tanning oil in New Guinea for the bugs, they stick to it and die, just scrape em off after a session. Cheers mate @@robbiefishing

Thanks mate. There is no easy answer sorry. It all depends on your size, the weight rating of the kayak, whether you want speed or stability etc... Shorter and fatter are more stable, but much slower to paddle.

Another enjoyable watch. I recently got a 5kg baitcaster and am wanting to get on to some natives. Is 50lb braid not too heavy for a 6kg rod? What is the correct weight for a 5kg rod? Also, what do you do if you snag? 6lb line breaks off when targeting trout. The heavier line would make this a bit harder. Not to mention to cost of native lures.
Hi mate, I use 50lb braid with my 6kg baitcaster rod and have no problems. I don't know what the recommended weight is. Basically, the heavier the line the less lures you lose. If you use too heavy it may effect the swim pattern of the lure. I find 50lb to be a good balance.
Hi mate, I am using the smallest one. I think it's 110mm. It's not that big, unlike most lures OneWell include the bib in their measurements. The 110 is great for cod and yellowbelly, but if you're after big cod in bigger waterways you may want to choose a bigger size. The 110 is ideal for lure casting in the types of waterways that I usually fish.
