Through Summer, I find dawn is more reliable as the local waters heat up too much through the day for sunset to be reliable. It is good still, but a couple of hours before dawn to about 3 hours after is prime time mid summer.
Love it Robbie. I study at uni up in Canberra and love casting lures for yellas in between classes. Had to temporarily move home to VIC this year but can't wait to get back to catching them ASAP
I'll have to drive over and check Lake Nillahcootie out one of these days, it looks like a gorgeous place. Congrats on the yellas! I 100% agree with you that we shouldn't feel ashamed to keep a feed from time to time, I hope you enjoyed that one you took home. I'll have to try trolling the tubby native minnows next time I'm at Eppalock
Thanks mate. Yeah give them a crack. I was totally impressed by how well they trolled. I looked up the stocking figures for Lake Eppalock last night, geez VFA are pumping the yellas in!
Get a fixed/rigid seat Kayak. 100% better for longer outings and worth any extra costs, you'll never go back... those soft back ones destroy your back in no time unless you weigh nothing....😉
what a magnificent view Robbie, and a bloody great video! your wildlife photo's are always beautiful shots too.. you should bring out a 2021 Robbie's Wildlife Calender in your Merch store. and what a rude yella' to interrupt your singing like that hahaha 😂👌👍
Oh WOW. I didn't think you would be allowed to hunt up there to be honest, being a State Park. I did see a deer carcass in one of the camp grounds at the base of the mountain though. Just as you leave that spot and head up the road towards the mountain, there is a rub tree right on the side of the road. LOL

Hey Rod thanks heaps mate. The mask is a pain in the arse. I wear in when I have to, in stores, in the street, at work etc... but I have given up wearing it in the middle of nowhere just to be "politically correct". In reality, up here in the country, ever person you see walking a dog down a country lane, every farmer on a tractor, every fisherman in a boat etc... no mask. BUT... once in town, everybody is doing the right thing. The way it should be.
Thanks Andrew, they were the best of the lot back in the day. I caught more fish on a Luhr Jenson hotlips than anything else and you can't get them any more either.
@@robbiefishing Oh, the Hotlips! THere is a name I have not seen in 20 years. Iloved them. And the storm Wee Wart, Wriggle Wart and Flat Wart were also great lures when Storm was still Storm. My favourite was the Hot'nTot though.
