Bloody hell that was a stonker yellowbelly. Well done mate. Looks like you and your mates had a great time!
Thanks !! Yeah its a wonderful place. The best part was kicking back with mates around the campfire, fishing and enjoying ourselves.
Great fishing, that yells was awesome. Lake Eildon is a lake I not fished yet. Thanks for showing.
Thanks !! 100% a spot to visit if you get a chance
I have watched every single video you have. Nearly finished this video. Your vids are the best and have helped me to catch my first fish as a beginner angler. Thanks!

It was a small 20cm pink snapper at central pier, Docklands@@fishingmad

Great fishing fellas! Got me keen to plan a fishing/camping trip on the lake for a couple of nights. Keep the Eildon footage coming in 👍
Thanks , yeah 100% you should its a wonderful spot.
I’m really surprised you went out on the lake on a nice day and didn’t cop a heap of other boats and jet skis Alan!
Great vid again ,we all know how fishing goes ,but the yellow belly was a stonker mate, wow , look forward to your next fishing vid, hope its soon realy like watching them thanks:)
Hey Alan, that’s amazing. Wonderful fishing and it’s great to see some more freshwater based videos. Lovely video as always, they just keep getting better.
Thanks so much, I really appreciate the kind feedback. So much effort has gone into continually improving the content.
Hey Alan.love all of your fishing videos and the in depth detail you provide.I am keen to do some kayak fishing at Eildon Pondage for trout.I was wondering if you could tell me how deep the Pondage is and if kayak fishing is actually aloud here?also any advice on gear or tactics to use here would be much appreciated.thanks
Hey Alan. Great video. The campsite location looks so good. Is it a parks Victoria campsite, or just a free campsite? Have you got any more details on it? I've never been up there, looking for some nice campsites.
Heaps of free campsites around Goughs Bay. We just got in the 4wds and drove for ages until we found one.
@@fishingmad Awesome, thank you. I've never free-camped before ... but with inflation, keen to start!!! I've got a plastic tinny, so this sort of spot looks perfect. I can still launch it into there without a boat ramp! I assume there is no amenities in these spots?
Some of the scattered campsites had toilets, some didn't. Also some of them were perfectly fine to launch a tiny and some didn't have suitable access. We drove up a week before and spent a few hours going from site to site. They do fill up really quickly on weekends and peak times though.
@@fishingmad Yeah gotya. Thanks for the advice Alan :)
Yes Yes....good aussie boys...so sad no eaten big yeloow base. lake clean...haha lucky no bear came to camp for breakfast...haha..big drinks four you..yes yes vodka..
Thank you, LOL I love the comment about the bear getting us for breakfast !!
Hi Alan, another great vid... I've watched a lot of your content and have learnt a truck load being new to the kayak fishing game thanks to your vids... would like to know what motor you use on your kayak as i have a Hobie Mirage Outback and cant find an electric motor for it. any sugestions would be great.
Thanks !! Have a look at this vid it runs through the motor I use ua-cam.com/video/naacjIuByeM/v-deo.html there is also some really detailed installation vids in our members area in the kayak club section. Hope that helps, regards Al
Nice one Alan. Love lake Eildon myself. Did you guy camp along the arm near Goughs Bay? I noticed you went past Bonnie Doon.
I saw another comment haha, yeah plenty of great spots down there
Yep 100% spot on, heaps of spots along the water. We drove past plenty of them as many were full, but still found a great spot to setup camp
Hi Alan, amazing video as expected. Where exactly in Eildon was this video taken?
Thanks, was filmed around Goughs Bay
Hi mate which campsite did you guys end up staying on? We are heading to lake eildon and plan to just fish from the bank the little ones and I would be happy to catch what you guys were getting from the banks any day !
hey Alan, which campsite were you guys set up at?
Looks beautiful
Another Great Video, I’m thinking of getting a Daiwa td black scratchy which is a 7ft 1.5-4kg rod, do you reckon that’d be good for Yellowbelly, trout, Redfin, flatties and bream?
Cheers
Thanks !! Yeah those rods are terrific and very versatile. Its hard to have a rod that covers so many different species but that would be a great option.
@@fishingmadcheers mate
Hey mate. I'm planning a Hobie trip like this for next month. Where around Eildon would you recommend camping like this? We normally do Jerusalem's creek. Do you mind sharing the campsite you used?
Hey bud. What camp-site is that I'm heading up there tomorrow looks tops
Great attitude to make sure you leave your site as you found it for the next person to enjoy. I did 2 trips to eppalock in the last week and the amount of rubbish that’s added to the same spot in under a week is disgraceful
10000% agree. I cant believe how many amazing places I go to where I spend time cleaning up after others. Really trying to have shows like this highlight fishing in a positive way, and a gentle reminder for many to keep it as we found it I think is a good thing.
What rigs do you recommend using for carp and yellow belly?
We just used a very simple running sinker rig. Very small sinker to a swivel 50cm of leader to a size 6 hook. One of the simplest but very effective
@@fishingmad Thank you!
Where did you get the yabbies bro? I went there on grand final long weekend and only caught 1 yellow belly 😢
A mate of mine has heaps in his dam, so we got them from there. A few local tackle stores sell them, but I haven't had to buy them for a while.
Where abouts on the lake we you guys?
My mate was at eildon on sunday😦
Its a great spot thats for sure
