Thank you Dr Newson. I really appreciate your educational videos. I never felt right since 2009, even when I went on HRT (oestrogen and progesterone) and I was one of those who was saying, not so long ago, I am too old for the menopause. I am 58 and I knew menopause was destructive, but had no idea of just how destructive it can be. I am now awaiting testosterone blood results form the NHS. I am glad you came along as you have probably prevented lots of future physical and mental problems for me, thank you again. 🙏
This is reassuring for me. I have just taken my first pill last night and first patch on my abdomen this morning. I’m 66. My doctor asked me to do a mammogram first , which had come back normal thank goodness, so all good to go. Hope I don’t put on weight, but looking forward to better sleep and less aches. Have to take the pill on an empty stomach and no food for an hour after, so that cuts out snacking before dinner.
Absolutely fabulous. Thank you so much. HRT has literally given me my life back but I'm constantly having justify it to people telling me the 'risks' 😫 ...I usually answer something like "there's a fair risk to having no quality of life too" . Really fab video, thank you 😍😍😍
Dr Newson, thank you for this video. I really appreciate you and the significant contributions you make to womens health. I am 67 and did not experience side effects from menopause that interfered with my daily functioning until 2 years ago. Now my search for a dr who will listen and work with me has been a challenge. However, because of you I will keep trying. Thank you.
Thank you, this was so educational. As a 63 year old woman who has never used HRT, I am really suffering with sleep disturbance and increasing urinary symptoms, especially at night. Years ago I was advised by GP not to take HRT as my mother had developed breast cancer while on it and my risk would be high.
Vaginal eastrodial pessaries tablets have worked wonders for my unrainy frequency and urgency. It was so quick to take effect too. Finally I can make it back from the shops without running to the loo as soon as I get through the door. It`s a localised dose so safer. Vagifem was the brand I was given
I have been on evorol Conti patches for three years now I get neausa vertigo and lndegestion and lbs my blood pressure is high ❤ thank you for this video ♥️🌹
Dr. Marty Makary debunks even the whi breast cancer myth in the hrt chapter of his just released book "Blind Spots", though, as so many, he thinks that hrt 10 yrs beyond menopause is useless-- which I don't agree with! Well worth reading his interviews with people who conducted that terrible study and what really transpired. Ty, Dr. Newson, for your channel!
Thank you for this Louise. You spoke about getting reviewed regularly, unfortunately I'm not sure where I can go to be reviewed unless I go private. Should my gp be able to help with this? Thank you for your advice and help.
Thank you for this informative video, Dr. Newson. I read 'Estrogen Matters' last year to try and understand my own personal risk as a 67 menopausal women who had early stage breast cancer 15 years ago. What I still find a little bit difficult to ascertain is if there is a different risk for HRT and recurrence vs HRT and initial cancer? Watching your video, perhaps I missed it, the statistics you mentioned were for initial diagnosis? Is there a different risk for recurrence? Also, if someone is on HRT and they are diagnosed with a hormone sensitive cancer, is HRT stopped? Thanks.
I have heard how the cortisol hormone can affect and override the working of the body’s hormones. Would you agree with this Louise? I really need to find out for certain.
I thought that the right hormones, including testosterone, would regulate cortisol. Where did you hear it took over? I've noticed more of cortisol since menopause and I am on oestrogen and progesterone and am awaiting bloods results for testosterone as I would like to try that.
Definitely interested as to why the estradiol gel pamphlet still gives off warning about blood clot and various issues. The pamphlet is filled with fine prints of some scary things.
I’ve been using Eostrogel since September 2020, and I’ve never read the inside the box pamphlet yet ! 🫶🏼. I don’t fall prey to scaremongering and false information, I prefer to research and trust only the real experts that inform us with REAL EVIDENCE BASED INFORMATION.
Many women and medial societies are fighting this scary misinformation based on the flawed 2002 WHI study at the moment. Modern hormones are safe and the warnings refer to the old synthetic and horse urine "hormones". Pharmaceutical companies love to scare women away from their own (cheap) hormones and rather sell expensive statins, betablockers, sleeping pills and the like to them instead🤷♀️😡. Get better informed. A cream is not good enough, get the progesterone pill, the estradiol gel + testosterone!
Several OBGYN that I follow says, that if you are 10+ postmenopausal, you need to have your heart health evaluated (before going on HRT) because that there can be calcium build up in your arteries in the years that has passed since menopause. And when you go on HRT it can risk loosen the calcium buildup and cause a stroke. You did not mention this?
No prasterone/ Intrarosa in NHS Scotland. The Scottish Medicines Consortium says it hasn't been approached by the manufacturers for inclusion in the formulary. Women are missing out, for whatever reason 😢xx
I had my mireena remove as it was misplaced had op fir removal it was pieaced cervix! I've decided Not to reinsert it! As I waa scared if it gets misplaced again 😢 so I told the Dr o continue utragestran v200mg peasary, thinking I would have no symptoms of the aftermath of the op! The Dr didn't tell me I would gave my pms and perimenopause and my history of heavy bleeding from my endermetriosis, aches and pains fluey symptoms and uti and cold flushes and severe cramping like labour pains really excruciating pains ! Heavy bleeding with blood clots ! Been a nightmare in and out Dr gave me mefenatic acid 500mg and tranexamic acid 500mg, metronidazole 400mg and trmethoprim 200mg! Dr told me that if I don't stop bleeding my pesary isn't going to work meaning I've got to stop my estragel! Which I think is the wrong info! I'm stuck in this dilemma 😫! I love vaginal IntraRosa. I was prescribed vaginal Estriol and it did nothing. Looking back I realize it wasn’t ESTRADIOL - and perhaps that is why it didn’t work for me. I live in Portugal.
I have been seeing a nurse practitioner for 1 year from MIDI and she stated me on estrogen patch plus progesterone for one year. They are specialized in menopause

It's out of date and doesn't relate to bioidentical hormones

Research vitamin K-2 and calcium deposits. K-2 stops calcium deposits from happening.
Transdermal estradiol has been proven to eliminate the clots that arrive from taking pills avoiding the liver.
