Ladies, I would research this carefully before taking HRT. My MD was very cavalier about prescribing it. I thought it was safe, and didn’t do my homework. I was on it for 10 years. I got lobular breast cancer which was missed on my regular Mammo’s/US. By the time I got diagnosed, it had already metastasized to my liver. I am incurable. I had no genetic markers for breast cancer. There is a rise is lobular breast cancer that some research has linked to HRT….look it up. Lobular breast cancer is notoriously hard to diagnose. It’s called “sneaky”. I, like most women, had never heard of it. My Oncologist told me “no woman should ever be on HRT for more than five years”. I would rather have hot flashes every single night than Stage 4 cancer. I read somewhere that menopause “is not a disease” that needs to be cured. It’s a natural biological process, albeit an unpleasant one. But, we survived without HRT before. I wish I had never taken that stuff. Hope this helps someone out there.

Probably severely deficient in Iodine, Magnesium. Iodine is needed throughout the entire body and can't be stored. The breast tissue needs a lot of Iodine. Also, most cancers are from intracellular parasites. Dr. Lee Merritt has a great anti parasite protocol on her website.

Have you called the contact number at your insurance (not the nurse line - if you have one, at the doctor's office,) and ask for the medical qualifications of the person deciding to deny coverage for HRT? Not being able to sleep can be deadly, and contributes to other issues like high blood pressure.

Dr. Sean Tassone has a video out on UA-cam. ObGyn by profession. He has done a video on a new research report (just recently released). This new research is saying that there's no reason to deny any woman hormonal therapy. Age is not a reason to deny hormones. If you already have cancer, they may not be able to give you anything. Dr. Tassone said your hormones don't cause cancer - they may affect the growth of cancer but do not cause it. This is a new research study that he discusses. The medical schools are teaching new medical students with OUTDATED INFORMATION (NOT UP-TO-DATE). I recently saw a new, young, female ObGyn. I saw her about BHRT. She told me NO!, too late - you are too old, could prescribe if I was 10 yrs. younger, need to exercise, etc.
So, you may go to 3, 4, 5, doctors before you find one that will prescribe some and work on your symptoms. Dr. Tassone uses TeleMed and takes only cash because insurance doesn't usually cover hormones. Good luck.

With the added challenges of the pandemic and a gray divorce from a psychopath after a 30-year marriage, I feel like I've been thrown off a cliff. Transplanting my business in this economy, post-divorce, feels impossible, and I'm terrified of not being rehired at 60. The impact on my brain has been immense. HRT corrected several health issues, like urinary frequency and waking up at night. Cardiovascular LP(a) was lowered to a nontreatment level, and bone density and muscle mass improved, no longer losing either. If anybody is on levothyroxine for thyroid, BE VERY CAREFUL with progesterone. Progesterone will raise your T4 within 2 weeks. I proved it by taking blood test for T4 before starting progesterone and 13 days after taking progesterone and my t4 went up. I started feeling janky. If I would have kept taking it I could have ended up thyrotoxic. I want from 1.4 to 1.6. With 1.8 being the top end before going hyperthyroid and or thyrotoxic. I showed my dr. Along with unpublished study from the UK, he blew me off. Thank goodness for my pharmacist who gave me the heads up. And yes it was natural progesterone.

After thorough testing my doctors put me on a low dose of Armour thyroid and compounded estrogen/progesterone and a separate dose of testosterone. Cream in a measured syringe. They were adamant about not taking Premarin. I felt like a light bulb went on from head to toe and in my brain. Used for 10 years. At 76 I have healthy bones, no medications at all. I weaned off thyroid med because it was contributing to some atrial fibrillation. I came back to say that my alternative med doctors (cardiologists and internists) also told me that after a certain age the HRT was unlikely to work because the receptors would shut down over time. At my age now, 76, I do take Lugol's 2% iodine, a drop per day. I follow a keto lifestyle for the most part.

This topic needs to go far and wide! I'm 58yo now. Age 34yo - diagnosed Hypothyroid in 2000 after my 1st child. Put on t4. Age 44yo - had an ablation in 2010 because I had been bleeding very heavily for months. Nothing was said about taking HRT. Had my 2nd kid at 37yo. My life during my children's young age was fraught with me always feeling rubbed raw, like I was drug through glass. I don't believe I was depressed in how I hear people are depressed today, but I was not a happy mom (and I love my kids with all my heart). I am now on HRT because I finally sought out a naturopath. She said more than likely had I been put on HRT after the ablation, I may have had an easier time through menopause. I am so angry now, that my children's childhood didn't have the best of me! It had the depleted, messed up me. I was even a fairly healthy active person while they were growing up; no drugs or drinking, and although I did eat the SAD diet, it was better than most. How now, do I go to my young adult children and apologize for a childhood that could have been better? This needs to change for all WOMEN. We need support and understanding by doctors during this time.

My story is very, very similar to this though it took me 15 years after my almost death from hyperthyroidism from Graves & remission to suffer years of such sever heavy periods I was at a constant state anytime I was ever checked of needing a blood transfusion, it took mutiple years of this to even get the ablasion because I was still child bearing. Then after years of waiting 2 years after I finally got that done i had a brain scan & they misread my brain scans or implied saying I had; had 1 or 2 strokes with no signs though I have proof of horrid migraines for 30 years & they show up the exact same way. Now they refuse to give me even the lowest dose of HRT. I'm 50 my skin is dry, I can't keep a thought in my head, I have no energy, hot flashes, insomnia just on & on. Now after 7 neurologists & 10+ tests they want to do a spinal tap on me to diagnosis me with MS. I told them to shove it. You won't give me what I need but keep running 1000 tests to diagnose something for 2 years that I may or may not have? So frustrating.. & because I got so sick with it all I lost my job living on savings had to turn to government Insurance so now I can't even afford to get the stuff from an online provider because you have to pay for the 'visit" & the med. It's so horrid how they treat us when all I need is 2 little things of cream to rub in to my arm or whatever dime size amount 1x a day but I have to sit & suffer. This is meds the insurance will cover but the Dr won't write for fear of stroke, seriously! They give us meds everyday with lists as long as my leg with worse risks but they refuse to give this out again treating it like its a "vanity" med. If ANYTHING The little Blue Pill💊 should have been considered that from day 1 they don't HAVE TO have Sex we have to sleep & Eat & have mental clarity & have balanced hormones but they find 1000 ways to say no to us this is an absolute travesty!
      Sorry for the rant!

He asked her if she loved me and she started crying and said yes. The very next morning she told me to either file for divorce or she would. So I did. When the divorce was final I walked her to her car and she sat in it and started crying. I told her that we don't have to stick to the divorce and she wouldn't change her mind. So that was in 2001. We have 2 children who were very heart broken. I'm 70 now and have started taking TRT for the rest of my life. Every woman should be educated about this. It should be a law.

I also read cards. It isnt really the cards so much, they are help mates in getting the message to come through. Some readers are fake out there, they only read by card meaning. Some doctors only diagnosis per what's already been said, no deep insight just regurgitated. Not all doctors are intuitive, some not at all. Some barely passed, but they practice medicine.
Women's health has been bypassed as non essential. Women being treated based upon male anatomy scientists of the early 1900's. I had uterine cancer for seven years and didn't know it. Always heavy periods, mostly due to birth defect of a completely non developed thyroid gland. Had a total hysterectomy, bilateral Oophorectomy in Nov 2019. Terrible menopausal symptoms nearly immediately one month out from surgery. Hit like a hurricane, left my body torn to shreds in recovery. Blood A pos, I can't do keto etc, carnivore. It isnt for everyone. Whole food based diet with juicing and getting off all caffeine is best for me, it has helped the hotflashes to be a lot less but not gone yet.
I get two hours tops at night between the next one. Every two hours a hotflash to wake up to, it used to be 1 hour between. I feel like I need a psych ward at times just want real sleep, reckon when I'm out from living in this vessel I'll get rest.

It was analysis of the literature that stated that there was an “increase” n cancer in women who take HRT.
The results of the studies were reported in relative risk increase which is really poor analysis of medical studies. Results should be reported in absolute risk increase.
For example if a study reported that red meat consumption three times a week I creased your risk of colon cancer from 2 in a million to 3 in a million, the relative risk increase is 50% increase. This is a faulty way to report statistics. It needs to be reported as an increase of one case of cancer per million people which is not statistically significant.
There are no studies that show any statistically significant ic readers of cancer using HRT when reporting by absolute risk increase.
I am not sure what data is present in New Zealand that may prove otherwise

I’ve been told by my doctor here in Polsmd that when our ovaries stop working, the adrenals should start to produce hormones. If your adrenals are healthy you will not experience almost any symptoms of menopause. This is my case. 3 years now without period, I feel great and experience literally no stmptoms of menopause. I am healthy, fit, 55 kg/ 166 cm, excercise daily, low carb diet/ keto, IF, I take supplements D3+K2, vit C, collagen, Nad+, ocassionally Triphala. I think we worry too much about menopause, positive mindset, sport snd heslthy diet are crucial as well as having a putpose in life, passions etc. I learnt kite last year, Spanish language, enroll for on line University in Integrative Medicine, we just focus too much on negative sides of our age, process food is absolutely no go but we can look really great nowadays, even face lifting or less invasive procedures I mean we can look and feel great and I believe its up to us!

You are probably one of the 20 to 30% of women who can make enough estrogen at the tissue site ie intracrine system and can avoid the usual menopause symptoms that plague the rest of us. I was keto and very healthy going into perimenopause and menopause and yet without hrt i would be disabled. The adrenals make dhea, the precursor to testoerone etc but the actual testosterone, estradiol and estrone are made at the tissue level.
However, I do not know a single woman in that 20 to 30% group who has NO long term disease of menopause. All the ones I know have horrific osteoporosis and some of them also have heart disease. These are silent.
The ovaries keep producing testosterone but no conversion to estradiol anymore and they make maybe 2% of the testosterone they made prior menopause so it's not much.
Estrone is made by your fat cells. Notice how grandma is the only fat person in old pictures? Also notice how she's lost her waist? That's visceral fat unfortunately. Highly inflammatory. That's why women are less healthy post menopause, why our risk of cardiovascular disease jumps up, our joints hurt, etc.
Note that Dr Boz advocates hrt. She's not relying on estrone. This video makes estrone sound great but it's not. Even if you accept the 30 to 40 pound weight gain,I still know plenty of fat women with osteoporosis. Estrone is a coping mechanism to save you from death but it doesn't mean it's optimal.
Dr Boz doesn't likely have insulin resistance. I took oral estrogens and while my brain was great I gained 20 extra pounds even on keto. Transdermal fixed that. So everyone has to experiment. Premarin is not a bad product but oral estrogen has to be processed in your liver. If you have any concerns with your liver you may want to avoid, esp if you have steatosis.

Of course Big Farma will advocate for takimg hrt and its ibvious why… osteoporosus, we now know how to better treat it with high doses of Vit D for example and if you are on keto, ketones do really good job to mantein healthy brain I mean I dont notoce any dofference now, maybe later in life it will come. Fasting really help in keeping clarity and its such a great boost of energy. May I ask you what kind of sumptomes you had? Were you in keto at that time? If you have cysts, a mamogram can be very painful and an ultrasound followed by MRI can be done. Mamograms are useless in very dense tissue as they can miss cancer

HELP!!! Dr Boz. My daughter is struggling with epilepsy during her menstruation. Seizures start either during ovulation, during her period or right after…she was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2000 (she was 14) has had 2-brain surgeries, developed hydrocephalus right after her 2-surgery…she is still living with the pituitary brain tumor, hydrocephalus and epilepsy. With All the medications, she has gained a Huge amount of weight. I need guidance by a physician, like you, to help us get a handle on her weight and epilepsy. Please let me know what I need to do to hire you to help her. No one in Texas Specializes in Ketogenic Diets.

I think your daughter would do better on Carnivore diet! Utube has lots of people's videos practicing that type of diet.

Yes, I have all of those symptoms (age 59), but whenever I've tried estrogen creams and supplements I become more anxious and depressed. In fact, I take DIM if my anxiety and depression starts to become overwhelming, and it usually helps. So what are the alternatives?

IMPORTANT: Dear women... Don't make any big decisions when you're not 100% brain and body wise. NEVER! You will thank me. Love you.

I’m 54 and have never had a hot flash. My sleep is not great, often waking at 3:30-4am.

That's your body's natural rhythm. Try magnesium glycinate, and first thing in the morning, expose your eyes to sunlight for a few moments. That helps to reset your body clock. My former boss was a circadian rhythm researcher.

About 42:00 you start talking about correlating to a time when "estrogen receptors in a womans brain are declining" ...but that is the opposite of what the study "In vivo brain estrogen receptor density by endocrine aging and relationships with cognition and symptomology", shows. The research indicates that estrogen receptor density in the brain increases during menopause. It shows much higher levels in postmenopausal women compared to premenopausal women. This increase is most likely a compensatory response to declining estrogen levels. As your estrogen levels decline your brain creates more receptors to try to grab what estrogen there is.
