Great stuff as always. Thank you. I also saw The Pixies a Tromp tour in Boston. They alphabetized the set list and were so loud and powerful. Just saw X is Boston at the Wilbur and you folks will love it. John and Exene still lock in that vocal style and Billy and D J were superb. See How we Are was magical. Magic- I’ll try again. Enjoy the weekend!
@@MarkDoyle-tt5sf Thanks! I remember right before the Pixies came on when I saw them in Madison, WI on the Trompe tour…Trompe the World I think they called it, the Velvet Underground’s All Tomorrow’s Parties was played over the PA and I don’t think it’s ever sounded better. Can’t wait to see X! I’m so overdue for rediscovering See How We Are.
Really great random picks Pixies i saw in 88 in a small club with Jesus and Mary Chain Hell of a show Never saw X but have seen John Doe several times and always amazing Last the Boss ; saw him closing night of Giant Stadium , one of greatest concerts ever Your pick bring back some happy times Everyone needs to pick up X new album : Smoke and Fiction
That new X album is really good. Most bands get a little more mellow as they age, and, if they try to sound the way they did in their youth, it can sometimes get a bit cringey. X seems to defy all of that though. The album before this latest one was pretty high octane from start to finish from what I remember. John Doe made a guest appearance at the Alejandro Escovedo album release show I went to at Antone's earlier this year, and he added some harmony vocals to one of the songs. He's still the coolest dude in any room he's in.
@@aronpolasek4506 Excellent point about most bands trying to rock out later and it not working. Spot on about X making it all look so effortless. Yeah, I liked Alphabetland too. Kind of seems like they’re really finding their groove again and should keep it going, but imagine it’s getting pretty hard to do at that level as they age.

@@jessem470 What a lineup, Pixies and JAMC. Closing out Giants stadium…that would be a hell of a show.
