I honestly cannot remember the teams I used in each game originally. Even in the very first one. I'm glad you could though Mikey. This was a joy to watch.
Honestly? That team is better structured than any team i made in my childhood playthroughs. Would've added mightyena, manectric and altaria to be a full well rounded team
Sorry for ruining your dreams but altaria sucked in gen 3 A LOT, it is practicaly useless as swablu and you are stuck with like peck, fury swipes and kinda ok sing (it has take down but only like 4 level pre evolution) after evolution it gets dragon breath wich is special so dragon dance is useless for its only stab option than fly (sky attack is at level 59 so basicaly post e4) and only good moves it gets to combination with d dance are earthquake and return others are special and I feel like putting non stab this valueable TMs on altaria is a waste also that move refresh it learns is useless due to its natural care ability, so like best moveset it can run is like dragon breath, d dance, earthquake, return/other game corner TMs, but most importantly it is viable only from like lvl 40 and you catch swablu at like lvl 15-20 idk so good luck with training it with its terrible stats. Sorry I am trying to not be offensive, personaly I really like altaria as a design and got way better later, take this as educational fact. PS: mightyena is useful with intimidate.
@@pantherstripes4380 actually you are terribly wrong! Altaria is a great mon in gen 3. It has a base stat total of 490 being a very bulky dragon in a generation with limited stab ice pokemon as well as only 3 dragon pokemon( one of them being even worse to get and the other not being able to use d dancer, as well as the other being a trade evolution). Secondly getting a nature on swablu is relatively easy given how easy it is to encounter(adamant nature). It had a fantastic move pool and can have some fun builds on it( attract toxic protect and some other move works well) or a set up build with d dance, dragon claw, earthquake, and idk sing to set up, stab flying move, or return. Honestly not sure where you went with your thinking on this cause dragon claw is actually easy to get (meteor falls btw) and your whole argument is that altaria learns no good physical stab move for d dance to be effective but once again it's part flying and has equal stats in special and physical so I really have no clue where your head was at with this comment
I wouldnt say it's bad in compet, but in playthrough? It is just painful to train up, and most of good moves are from TMs I dont feel like it's easy to use, also the endgame has a wallace, chuan and glacia.... all of them having a plenty of ice moves. It is only good against..... well none major battle in hoenn and also is weak to tate and lisa, wallace/chuan, glacia so.... some d dance + earthquake/return wont save you much bcs of its actualy poor attack stat compare to other dragon types, as a tank it isnt good as well and toxic protect attract can run almost any mon so that's not good argument
Also if it's going to go against other dragon to use that super effective dragon move, it usually doesnt stand a chance so dragon is really bad offensively, I feel like there is nothing special on it, it isn't excelent at nothing wich makes it pretty plane and you can just find better mon. Lets take it like this: you catch swablu even the best nature possible until evolution it is garbage and thats a fact, when you reach level 35 you are at tate and liza where is claydol with ancient power, then water type gym with plenty of ice beams than e4 with ice specialist and dragon specialist wich just overpowers you and then (if emerald) champion water specialist with ice beams sooooo give an example where altaria does a great job against major battle......
Preferences are its own thing, but I believe Sinnoh to have the most solid starter trio gameplay wise. Infernape: very fast, very strong, a lot of coverage, as well as the regionally rare fire type. Can't go wrong. Empoleon: very bulky and great defensive typing. Torterra: sure it's slow, but if you know how to use it, there's few things more satisfying than bringing the pain with stab earthquake and wood hammer.
When I played emereald , I only used tms that we could get again , like Lilycove Mall or Game corner , and after I beat the league, I let a pokemon Hold tm and cloned it so I could technically use infinite tms
I actually used Swampert, Breloom, & Torkoal on my Alpha Sapphire team. My personal rule for Hoenn is if you use Mudkip, you always use Breloom alongside it.

I am dissapointed in my self for laughing at “Grand theft submarine”
I'm disappointed in my self for laughing at this comment since I laughed when mikey said it, and now am laughing when you said it

I was laughing so hard when Michael said "Getting Belly Drum Swept by a Linoone is not very fun. I speak from experience". As soon as Michael said that the next video I watched was Michael getting swept by a Linoone because it used Belly drum 🤣🤣🤣🤣 and now I understand his pain.
Ok but like Mikey’s Glow Up is *chef’s kiss*
I was literally thinking yesterday "Hmm MandJTV should play Emerald with his old team. Nah he probably wouldn't remember." I have made...
A FOOLISH MISCALCULATION!
I’m turning 30 in a few weeks. The “16 years ago” part made me laugh because of that. That and some of the Christmas stuff is wrapped in old newspaper, one of which is an ad that actually ADVERTISES this game so yeah…honestly almost snorted tea out of my nose.
The true Nostalgia are the Red eyes on the thumpnail
I can hardly tell youhow much "thumpnail" made me smile
I remember using a Castform on my first team in Omega Ruby. I thought since the people at the weather institute were just giving it to me, it had to be strong. I now know I was wrong but Castform still pulled his weight and it's now in my top 10 Pokemon so I say HAIL YEAH.
I like the slight change in rival team it shows they arent just an npc who uses the same team on repeat
Petition For Mikey to make: Dark type Then Vs Now With Grunty boi
Yes we need grunty boi
You got 101% of my support
Yes.
Yes
I will sign said petition
So, if this team was the same team he used 16 years ago when he was ten years old, that means Mikey is 26 years old.
Yup hes 5 years older than me I'm 21

That laugh is a meme material
Damn, weed has cooked my memory, I can’t even begin to recall my full team, had blazakin and flygon for sure
I THINK WE ALL NEED TO SEE THE STEVEN BATTLEE!
I still love how the sped up trainers look like they're just dancing because they're spinning around really fast.
When I got sapphire as a 12 yr old kid I used Blaziken, Gardevoir, Hariyama, Manectric, Kyogre and Rayquaza. Murdered that play through 😂😂
I honestly cannot remember the teams I used in each game originally. Even in the very first one. I'm glad you could though Mikey. This was a joy to watch.

But the most impressive thing is beating Platinum
Even Jack couldn't do it. :P
I thought I misremembered pellipertects but nope...thanks for reminding me hell exists.
Mikey: "Dude just call your son you literally gimme a phone a minute later"
**FBI entered the chat**
Dragon claw is special LUL
12:58 Could have said “GRAND THEFT AQUA!”
"The hoenn starters are the best generation of starters"
no truer facts have ever been said.
I love all of them but my favourite starter trios are the ones from Hoenn, Unova, Kalos & Alola
The Hoenn starters are definitely cool, but Sinnoh has my favorites. Mainly because of nostalgia but penguins are also my favorite animal
I like mudkip and torchic they the cutest starters and when they evolve I'ma cook them for dinner fish and chicken anyone
@@watt2122 You are right monke is my favourite pokemon
Preferences are its own thing, but I believe Sinnoh to have the most solid starter trio gameplay wise. Infernape: very fast, very strong, a lot of coverage, as well as the regionally rare fire type. Can't go wrong. Empoleon: very bulky and great defensive typing. Torterra: sure it's slow, but if you know how to use it, there's few things more satisfying than bringing the pain with stab earthquake and wood hammer.

Love that dude spinning in the grass.

1:15 plot twist those happened to be the same names he used 16 years ago
When I played emereald , I only used tms that we could get again , like Lilycove Mall or Game corner , and after I beat the league, I let a pokemon Hold tm and cloned it so I could technically use infinite tms
