Now, if you're talking how well it blends in together, the hardware and the software, yes there's probably something to it since it was designed that way, but seems as well as if it isn't that big of a deal after all since so many people use it. You can also dual boot on a mac, so I recommend trying it out. It's really not a big difference since software and hardware are two different things. But I'm interested in your opinion m8, let me know what you think. Maybe im wrong in smth, let me know ^^

From a system engineering perspective, the software runs "close" to the metal meaning that it performs well. There are not many virtualization layers needed to translate high-level programming languages into bits. Windows can be seen as a one size fits nothing solution like Android. That's also why Android runs slower, because it's written in Java, meaning you need a Java Virtual Machine to run the applications, which slows it down significantly. This also makes it more vulnerable in terms of security. Running Windows on a Mac would give you al the disadvantages of both Windows and Mac, so you would still have such high (repair) costs while having a sucking OS. One reason why people run Windows on a Mac is because FL studio used to be only available on Windows.

Now to the repair side, I would like for you to check out Luis Rossmann on YT. Now based on feedback with apps for example one of the most used ones being Instagram: Since Apple doesn't put out as many phones as other companies do combined for android, Instagram and a lot of other apps try to appeal the most to their specs. Nevertheless, it still runs slower and I can confirm this as an MSc software engineer. For some purposes like gaming, Windows is just better suited because most games are made for it. Also, for music production a powerful Windows machine can be (almost) as good as a Mac. Macs do have better sound cards though without any latency. ASIO4ALL drivers do have a slight latency, because this is virtualized as well. I definitely suggest getting a Macbook Pro if you plan to do live shows with Ableton. Why? Stability. A Mac rarely crashes, doesn't suffer from blue screens, Windows updates, etc. For pure value, Apple products might not be the best available option. If you just want to produce on a Windows machine and DJ with CDJ's, that's totally fine because Pioneer setups are standalone, stable, sound card built in, etc.

If project starts pop locking like it starts at 25:00 - all you have to do is to go to Tools - Macros - Purge audio clips and Turn macro mode off. You can also go to Options - Project Info and then in general tab you can switch from 96 bars to 24. Super easy.
I'm a year late, but what you don't realize is that eventually your track gets so beefy that smart disable doesn't even help. I don't want to be pretentious, but my current project is giving me shit. Literally tried everything in the book. Unfortunately mixed from the start, and I've had to disable effects on everything, including what's being used. I also had to get rid of a bit of unison

Naaarh thats not the problem. Kontakt uses very little CPU. One of the problems can be you load in all samples to the library when you use it, so the patch for example has loaded in 1,5 gb of your memory or so. Instead to save CPU you can purge the samples, so only the notes (and the samples to them) you are using are loaded. Next thing that can save CPU which not many people are considering is close all windows in your DAW (EQ, COMP, FX etc). Many people have them running in the background ready to be opened when you select the channel, but it uses TONS of memory and when you have a big project running, this could easily take of 40 % of your CPU work. And last but not least, close ALL other applications than your DAW, when you produce, every application open is taking up memory that could be used by plugins/effects. :-)
