    You had a really good year, jay. You released a lot more tracks this year and they were all fantastic. I hope next year is even better.
    I would love to see a video where you explain how to vocal chop. Maybe like a live session where you're creating something brand new for a potential new song/remix.
    But that's just my opinion. Happy holidays jay

      KalleHullu but this high pitched chop vocal is over used damn..

    • @ImCodyLee
      @ImCodyLee 8 років тому

      I wouldn't say so. Vocal chops can either be really good, or really bad. It works in this case, but regardless it's catchy, and that's why everyone still uses it.

    • @portfoliocollection8072
      @portfoliocollection8072 8 років тому

      Cody Lee you know why everyone use that? cause u throw some random acapella in ur sampler ..slice that shit up and pick some random note and boom its a fucking melody. ya its catchy and all but damn i expect more complex shit from these huge artist

    • @ImCodyLee
      @ImCodyLee 8 років тому +1

      Don't change what's not broken. The records sell, so they'll do it. It's the sad reality of how the music industry works tbh

    • @KalleHullu
      @KalleHullu 8 років тому +1

      Its not about how you make tracks. Its about what you make, because when people are listening music on radio, Spotify, UA-cam etc. they care only about that is the track catchy, not is the sounddesing complex, is the lead self made or preset, how well its mastered, mixed etc.

      Nvm you did it sorry 😂

    • @mitjalubej6743
      @mitjalubej6743 8 років тому +15

      Because of automation. If he solo one track he also hase to solo all the automation clips. That way its easier to just move the clip itself to the end of the track.

    • @Raelex
      @Raelex 8 років тому +1

      Mitja Lubej yes but when he drags it out of the main song, it isn't with automation anyways

    • @rondleberik5337
      @rondleberik5337 8 років тому +8

      The HowTo Pro ofcourse he does... He even does it in this video. Sometimes it's just not practical because you also mute the automations that affect the track. You can avoid this by griuping your tracks properly but that's a workflow thing, and his projects are pretty messy so yeah..

      Izotope Ozone 5. But anyway, what is important its the mixing part not the mastering itself.

    • @ImCodyLee
      @ImCodyLee 8 років тому

      Probably because he has an engineer who does the mastering. You can see the Ozone 5 on the master which is probably just a temporary master so he can play the record out in his sets!

      yess seriously he is pumping his sounds so much with eq and shit but how the hell do he control dynamics?

    • @jeekbarlow8784
      @jeekbarlow8784 8 років тому +1

      Hemant Kalra Exactly XD pluss he uses the volume knobs instead of the dials in the mixer

    • @breakblitz4392
      @breakblitz4392 8 років тому +11

      +Hemant Kalra There is no requirement for controlling dynamics. It sounds perfect the way it is.

      He has close to 0 knowledge on mixing.... You can see that by the way he use things, like no volume adjusting on the mixer, tons of EQs above EQs and more. He has a professional mixing engineer who does it for him.

    Best track explanaitions I ever watched, I'm a big fan ! Maybe you could tell us next time how you choose your samples and how you "try out new synths" as you said in an interview. Do you save the good sounding ones or make a melody that fits to the synth character and save as a project?
    For the next Episode I wish Spotless(if possible), if not, Stadrust would be cool too, but please take the popular ones first :)

    I'm sure I speak for everyone here when I say we really appreciate you doing this. I consider myself an intermediate producer and watching videos like these I always find little things here and there that I could use or implement in my productions. Your way of working is so minimal if I may say, in terms of processing etc. which reminds me theres no need for 10000 plugins to make something work.
    I doubt you'd be able to make an explanation for 'Spotless', seeing that Martijn & his team would have to approve, but if possible that would be a huge boost! If anything maybe permission to just explain your part or bits and pieces of the project would also be fun to look into.

      Also just saw someone else post, starting a track from scratch would also be a good way to see your work process.
