Jay hardway is the only producer who shows his work and all of the flp crystal clear without hiding anything. Really grateful Jay for sharing your work experience. You got a big heart man to share every detail.
You had a really good year, jay. You released a lot more tracks this year and they were all fantastic. I hope next year is even better. I would love to see a video where you explain how to vocal chop. Maybe like a live session where you're creating something brand new for a potential new song/remix. But that's just my opinion. Happy holidays jay
you might not see this or i will not even know it if you see it but i gotta say this... Your way of explaining things is the best I've ever seen and Its amazing thank you so much for being nice enough to post this!
I find it astounding how individual components can sound really strange or out of place, but throw them all together and you have something utterly amazing.
You are one of my favorite producers......You always come up with something interesting and really good whether its a track or a remix......Just be the way you are brother and keep sharing your good music 😊 Merry Christmas everyone 🎄😄
Man I gotta say, I really like your style while creating music, but now I like it even more seeing how simple you make it look and how humble you're sharing this. Thanks!
So nice to see how you are breaking down everything into details and really explaining every EQs and effects you have on to sound better. Keep these coming, love these kind of videos!
extremely helpful, well-paced video. Jay always chops vocals in the most catchy and melodic ways and has such well chosen and mixed kicks for his tracks, so it was awesome to see how he approached the vox, the kick and the strings for this track!
I really love Jay, it makes me happy and I respect Jay for doing these videos , he is among the nicest people I've known so far. :) thanks Jay , God bless you.
For the suggestions: Tracks i would like to have a explain are in order: Stardust (btw for when is the vocal version? :D), Spotless, or why not your incoming track raider with moti :D About technical aspects, i would really like to have a more explained part to get a mixing clean as you do on your tracks, and maybe new mastering tips :D Thank jay, people like you made me begin producing
Thank you so much for that Christmas gift. I love these kinda videos and I learn so much from them. I really would like to see you explain how you made Amsterdam, because since I know that song it always gives me a special feeling every time I listen to it and I love it.
Thank you! very cool i would love to see the Bingo Players - Mode (Jay Hardway Remix), and mostly the choped chords in the drop. I've been trying to get that type of groove for a long time but i can't get that result. Keep up the dope music hope to make a song with you in the future!!
You make production easier to understand the way how you are making your tracks simple and creative and you focus more on the big image and that's helped me a lot thank you for those videos and you are so talented ❤
you are the best ! that's the reason i have been voting you in dj mag ...... Thanks for sharing .... i understand it is not always easy to share your secret ... 👍 bro fist in hardway
I wouldn't say so. Vocal chops can either be really good, or really bad. It works in this case, but regardless it's catchy, and that's why everyone still uses it.
Cody Lee you know why everyone use that? cause u throw some random acapella in ur sampler ..slice that shit up and pick some random note and boom its a fucking melody. ya its catchy and all but damn i expect more complex shit from these huge artist
Its not about how you make tracks. Its about what you make, because when people are listening music on radio, Spotify, UA-cam etc. they care only about that is the track catchy, not is the sounddesing complex, is the lead self made or preset, how well its mastered, mixed etc.
Great job on this! Very thorough explanations made it easy to follow along and you seem to have a lot of fun making these tracks. Looking forward to more of these videos from you.
Because of automation. If he solo one track he also hase to solo all the automation clips. That way its easier to just move the clip itself to the end of the track.
The HowTo Pro ofcourse he does... He even does it in this video. Sometimes it's just not practical because you also mute the automations that affect the track. You can avoid this by griuping your tracks properly but that's a workflow thing, and his projects are pretty messy so yeah..
Jay hardway as well !!! You taught me new things maybe you do not have some pattern defined in your mixes but that will sound perfect you are a great example with just a computer and your keyboard of your mac you can do great things I am willing to follow your techniques !!! Clear with own style :): V I LOVE YOUR STYLE!!!
Probably because he has an engineer who does the mastering. You can see the Ozone 5 on the master which is probably just a temporary master so he can play the record out in his sets!
Could be a preference thing. Also updating DAW's can be very intimidating because there's always problems that arise such as plug-in's not working, old projects not opening, etc.
"this line tells what the button does" - probably the funniest and straight to the point description of automation haha I really enjoy his straight forward approach obviously the youtube mega producers are gonna crack down on him for some stuff (ie throwing time based effects as inserts instead of sends) but honestly as long as the final product sounds good, who really cares?
He has close to 0 knowledge on mixing.... You can see that by the way he use things, like no volume adjusting on the mixer, tons of EQs above EQs and more. He has a professional mixing engineer who does it for him.
Hey Jay thanks a lot for this video, It helped me out a lot, But could you explain in the next video what effects are you using on the master channel (If you use some at all) And maybe explain some on mastering? Thanks again and keep up the good work :D
Jay, amazing video, really liked it! Maybe for the next one you could get into a little bit of your mixing? As myself, I'm sure there are a lot of producers who'd like to watch that, please. Keep up the good work man
Hail to the Jay Hardway! I am a big fan of your work and what you ve been doing with this type of videos is a fuckin noble thing. I ve learned a lot like many other producers out there just because of your will to teach. A big thank you bro and keep up with your fuckin great Job.
Best track explanaitions I ever watched, I'm a big fan ! Maybe you could tell us next time how you choose your samples and how you "try out new synths" as you said in an interview. Do you save the good sounding ones or make a melody that fits to the synth character and save as a project? For the next Episode I wish Spotless(if possible), if not, Stadrust would be cool too, but please take the popular ones first :)
I'm sure I speak for everyone here when I say we really appreciate you doing this. I consider myself an intermediate producer and watching videos like these I always find little things here and there that I could use or implement in my productions. Your way of working is so minimal if I may say, in terms of processing etc. which reminds me theres no need for 10000 plugins to make something work. I doubt you'd be able to make an explanation for 'Spotless', seeing that Martijn & his team would have to approve, but if possible that would be a huge boost! If anything maybe permission to just explain your part or bits and pieces of the project would also be fun to look into.
I don't know if you'll read this or not, but I really respect you for doing this.
agree with you
agreed
Must've been a lot of work to make that video...
I read this. Thanks for your support.
No way! First Avicii replies to my comment now you? Massive respect to you, I love your music.
Jay hardway is the only producer who shows his work and all of the flp crystal clear without hiding anything. Really grateful Jay for sharing your work experience. You got a big heart man to share every detail.

I believe in technical skills of producing but I believe too that there are no rules
haters stay away
As long as it sounds nice and unique in the end I think however you make music is free and up to you

Holy Poly I thought BB Commented 😂😂
WTF?? Hey how are you men?
Holy Poly yes there are rules

I would love to see a video where you explain how to vocal chop. Maybe like a live session where you're creating something brand new for a potential new song/remix.
But that's just my opinion. Happy holidays jay
isn't it mainly just the fruity slicer, then experimenting on your own?
you might not see this or i will not even know it if you see it but i gotta say this... Your way of explaining things is the best I've ever seen and Its amazing thank you so much for being nice enough to post this!
Please do spotless
he cant do that copyright is with martin garrix to so...martin garrix never shows his project except animals '.'
Hemant Kalra but it's not spinnin it's his own label so he can agree upon Jay using it, just like he uses is in his own 'vlogs'
He showed vorbidden voices as well
Yvette Rosanna can you please tell in which video he explaoned forbidden voices ?🙏🙏🙏🙏
I meant Dancefair ;)
I find it astounding how individual components can sound really strange or out of place, but throw them all together and you have something utterly amazing.
You are one of my favorite producers......You always come up with something interesting and really good whether its a track or a remix......Just be the way you are brother and keep sharing your good music 😊
Merry Christmas everyone 🎄😄

Very comprehensive explanation. You make really awesome music, big thanks Jay Hardway for showing us your project.
Happy holidays Jay! México loves you💘
extremely helpful, well-paced video.
Jay always chops vocals in the most catchy and melodic ways and has such well chosen and mixed kicks for his tracks, so it was awesome to see how he approached the vox, the kick and the strings for this track!
Watched the whole thing, thanks Jay. It would be cool if you showed the drop of stardust!
I like how you make your track looks so simple and understandable in the video, but the result sounds super professional
mastering tuto jay!
just put sausage fattener on the master channel and your done XD

Spotless with MG is a nice track!! You could try to make an episode of it
Thanks man! You're one of the best producers right now! Congrats to you and wish you a Merry Christmas!
For the suggestions:
Tracks i would like to have a explain are in order: Stardust (btw for when is the vocal version? :D), Spotless, or why not your incoming track raider with moti :D
About technical aspects, i would really like to have a more explained part to get a mixing clean as you do on your tracks, and maybe new mastering tips :D

Thank you! very cool i would love to see the Bingo Players - Mode (Jay Hardway Remix), and mostly the choped chords in the drop. I've been trying to get that type of groove for a long time but i can't get that result. Keep up the dope music hope to make a song with you in the future!!
Antoine Clerc ♡
You make production easier to understand the way how you are making your tracks simple and creative and you focus more on the big image and that's helped me a lot thank you for those videos and you are so talented ❤
you are the best ! that's the reason i have been voting you in dj mag ...... Thanks for sharing .... i understand it is not always easy to share your secret ... 👍 bro fist in hardway
Thanks for making the video, explaining how things were made and helping out producers like me to learn more and get better!
vocal chop thing at the drop is catchy af
KalleHullu but this high pitched chop vocal is over used damn..
Don't change what's not broken. The records sell, so they'll do it. It's the sad reality of how the music industry works tbh
Its not about how you make tracks. Its about what you make, because when people are listening music on radio, Spotify, UA-cam etc. they care only about that is the track catchy, not is the sounddesing complex, is the lead self made or preset, how well its mastered, mixed etc.
Man I'm really happy you are one of the only producers out there that teach us the good stuff hope you can get to be 1# on djmag one day!
I respect you so much for these explanations and in general for everything you do...I hope you have a good 2017 💪🔝

Tiësto Edit
Sensacional, sou do Brasil
FUSION fechado, cara. Em breve retorno!! Deixa comigo.
Great job on this! Very thorough explanations made it easy to follow along and you seem to have a lot of fun making these tracks. Looking forward to more of these videos from you.
respect for this,Jay. And kashmir's pack :)))
Thanks for doing this ! I have got Fl studio as a present for Christmas and this really helps me to understand a lot of things!😊
Free FLP? ^
jk haha
Loved this vid tho!
Clasio Yeaah pls!
Amazing Jay!! Love you for this!
Can you explain your new song with martin garrix - spotless
From the Bottom of my heart...please do more studio time!!
Jay, when you just want to play one track why not just solo it? No hate
Nvm you did it sorry 😂
Because of automation. If he solo one track he also hase to solo all the automation clips. That way its easier to just move the clip itself to the end of the track.
Mitja Lubej yes but when he drags it out of the main song, it isn't with automation anyways
The HowTo Pro ofcourse he does... He even does it in this video. Sometimes it's just not practical because you also mute the automations that affect the track. You can avoid this by griuping your tracks properly but that's a workflow thing, and his projects are pretty messy so yeah..
lol, get ableton fucking scrub Kappa
Jay hardway as well !!! You taught me new things maybe you do not have some pattern defined in your mixes but that will sound perfect you are a great example with just a computer and your keyboard of your mac you can do great things I am willing to follow your techniques !!! Clear with own style :): V
I LOVE YOUR STYLE!!!
Jay Hardway you forgot to say something about master channel :)
Izotope Ozone 5. But anyway, what is important its the mixing part not the mastering itself.
Probably because he has an engineer who does the mastering. You can see the Ozone 5 on the master which is probably just a temporary master so he can play the record out in his sets!
DVBBS & Jay Hardway - Voodoo Pleaseee
After listening to your music,I feel you are highly under-rated!!
Thank you for your music Sir!!!
Why are all producer using the old fl studio version?
pvpknights DE probably because they started producing on and just got used to it
Could be a preference thing. Also updating DAW's can be very intimidating because there's always problems that arise such as plug-in's not working, old projects not opening, etc.
That has nothing to do with anything we just said.
pvpknights DE Cuz they pirated it ;)
Because we added all our plugins into the version and all our projects work with that version.
There's just no reason for us to upgrade! :)
One of the best producer at the moment, thanks Jay :D
Explain stardust please ! In my opinion it's one of your best track !
:(
Jay, seriously man, thank you! This is gold. you're amazing man!
thanks for this man :D
thank you Jay, you and Kshmr have been teaching me a lot. And yes i want to learn how you made Stardust too.
Still using FL 11? No free upgrade? Team Air ftw? ;)
HEIS NOT USING CRACK DUDE
This is like watching how a magic show is done, Jay is awesome 🤩
7:19 - BOOTCAMP :P
whats wrong with that? he's using windows on a mac, no shit its bootcamp
It's not wrong ;)
I mean that Jobke did track called Bootcamp ;)
I think it's really great that you're doing this kind of tutorials, keep them coming ! Big up
u have no idea how many. people u have helped with this video.
Probably the next rising producers who gonna tell in their interviews that they learned everything on UA-cam watched this video :)
@@Yvysanna computers are magic
"this line tells what the button does" - probably the funniest and straight to the point description of automation haha
I really enjoy his straight forward approach obviously the youtube mega producers are gonna crack down on him for some stuff (ie throwing time based effects as inserts instead of sends) but honestly as long as the final product sounds good, who really cares?
what plugins do you have on your master channel?
also can you make a mixing and mastering video please?
I think he wouldn't do that, but that is what we want
all u will ever need for mixing is EQ
extra things are based on your preference lol
Izotope 5 House Master Basic Preset
i like the fact you didn't update your fl studio all this time. Great remix jay hardway!!! keep it up
Explain Amsterdam!!
Amazing Jay!
Please do Spotless toghether w Martin Garrix.
Basstone & Soundmaster Yes, that would be really cool
Great idea! Keeping that in mind!
jay, how do u master your tracks?
YEAH A NEW EXPLAIN THANK JAY THATS GOOD GIFT FOR CHRISTMAS
Dude you need to explain your mixing methods XD as a producer they make no fucking sense
yess seriously he is pumping his sounds so much with eq and shit but how the hell do he control dynamics?
Hemant Kalra Exactly XD pluss he uses the volume knobs instead of the dials in the mixer
+Hemant Kalra There is no requirement for controlling dynamics. It sounds perfect the way it is.
He has close to 0 knowledge on mixing.... You can see that by the way he use things, like no volume adjusting on the mixer, tons of EQs above EQs and more. He has a professional mixing engineer who does it for him.
Hacktivator Yeah true but the guy makes amasing music so that doesnt mean shit
Hey Jay thanks a lot for this video, It helped me out a lot,
But could you explain in the next video what effects are you using on the master channel (If you use some at all)
And maybe explain some on mastering?
Thanks again and keep up the good work :D
flp please
:v
Love you and your music JAY!!!! Thank you so much for this inspiration
EXPLAIN VOODOO OR STARDUST:DDD
Jay, amazing video, really liked it! Maybe for the next one you could get into a little bit of your mixing? As myself, I'm sure there are a lot of producers who'd like to watch that, please. Keep up the good work man
thank you, youre the only dj-producer i know that upload his proyects and explain very Wells continue this
Hail to the Jay Hardway! I am a big fan of your work and what you ve been doing with this type of videos is a fuckin noble thing. I ve learned a lot like many other producers out there just because of your will to teach. A big thank you bro and keep up with your fuckin great Job.
Hardway! U Are A Great Producer And DJ! I Like Your Style, Cool Work!
Jay Hardway ! I wanna more episodes for studio Time ! please ! :)
Best track explanaitions I ever watched, I'm a big fan ! Maybe you could tell us next time how you choose your samples and how you "try out new synths" as you said in an interview. Do you save the good sounding ones or make a melody that fits to the synth character and save as a project?

Jay you should do a Studio Time of Sturdust or maybe Amsterdam, they're amazing!
Thanks jay this is was really helpful!! Can't wait to see more episodes
Can you make a Video please how you put them together so fast? @27:35 xD
I'm sure I speak for everyone here when I say we really appreciate you doing this. Also just saw someone else post, starting a track from scratch would also be a good way to see your work process.
I love the whole explanation. Can you explain the mastering process as well in next videos.
Amazing Man Sir You Are Awesome 😻 Not Only Because Of This Video All Of Your Songs Are Dope And It's So Amazing You Are showing Us How You Made Them:)
Thank you so much Jay. I've just learnt a lot of things only watching this video!
KEEP IT UP!
Love the project Hardwell .....it's an interesting part to my knowledge
