  • @TheStamps
    @TheStamps 3 роки тому +20

    I've been researching this Gina Curl and it's the same as a Jheri Curl. The only difference is she doesn't apply product on the hair rod which will better preserve your ends. So the chemicals are the same but that one process detail is different. If I did this curly perm to my hair I would go to someone local for the Jheri Curl. There is nothing wrong a Jheri Curl, it's the same as the Gina Curl for less money:)

    • @nicolelewis6312
      @nicolelewis6312 3 роки тому +3

      Make sure you find a good stylist who is willing to take time and pay attention to details. Most jerri curls I've seen look unnatural and like crap. I don't know what is going on with the young lady's hair in the video above buy it doesn't look like the thumbnail. The Gina curl usually looks good and natural.

    I have a curly perm (wave nouveau curl) and I love it. My natural hair was breaking a lot and I also couldn't wear my 4c hair out .. I had to cover it up. My hair wasn't manageable. My hair was started thinning bad but I think it was from surgery. My hair has always been thick and full.. but learning my hair wasn't popular 80s and 90s. However, my hair now is thickening up and growing like crazy.. it's a few females on here with very long thick hair and they don't have the Gina curl .. they have a curly perm. The thing is most of the younger generation is not taking care of their hair properly which is the reason they have problems with the curly perm.. they are not treating it like a perm or using products that they need for it. My hair loves moisture even natural, so I live in Chicago and it's not too many things you can do with unstreched hair and braids break out my hair.
    You just got to be mindful and do your research and that's with any chemical.
    I really wish I would have thought about a curly perm years ago.

    That the reason I got the GC...I love it especially with the new growth. I also spent 900 dollars but compared to what I spent on products previously and would go to a natural salon every 3-4 weeks, I spent more money every 6 months on my hair before. Also my natural hair stated shedding so bad that's why I got it and I love it.

    • @bumblebee4024
      @bumblebee4024 3 роки тому +2

      How many hours does the GC take from start to finish? I’ve read that it takes 8 hours in the chair .... is that accurate? Do you believe a Jheri curl or Wave Nouveau would give you the same results as a GC for less money & less time spent at the salon? I’m just curious.....thanks for your reply.

    • @yamenj9361

      @@bumblebee4024I don't think I would have gotten the same results with a WN. I traveled to another State for this process. it took me 6 hours from start to finish. Gina and her staff took a lot of time applying different strength of chemicals in different section of my hair. I had color treatment on ends and also retention alopecia on bilateral temperol area. I had a WN and it was done at the time by a master stylist, this is different. Also with the WN I experienced hair shedding and eventually breakage with touchups. I am in hopes I will not experience that but only time will tell. Also my new growth blends very well. It's just different but so far I love it.

      @Z N Because the retouches don’t overlap and the formula originated from the Japanese Straightening system which is famous for limiting damage. Also, my hair is already 22 inches (post haircut). Which is much longer than my natural hair had ever been. So, I can’t complain

    Tbh it looks super thin. I liked your natural hair..it was fuller and beautiful. Either way its your hair and life!! Just stating my opinion. Also being natural gives you more versatility!! Natural hair is a blessing, but is time consuming. I was natural from birth til I graduated high school. Now Im 36 and have been natural 4 times in between high school and now. Currently Im natural and will stay this way until the end of my life. I love my natural tresses! Those chemicals are not meant to be in our heads period. As a Black Colombian woman I take pride in my hair which is a 3b/3c/4a mix. I love the fact that I can wet...straighten..curl...braid...twist..dread...wave my hair and still have a full head of hair. Other races desire the versatility of our hair. For that I will no longer add chemicals of any type to my head. But I hope you are happy with your hair results! All love and positivity to you!!

      If you put enough product then you should be able to, but the curl has also loosened a little bit over time. In this video I had little to no product left in my hair because I went to the beach, so my curls weren't as defined.

    Gina curl is just too permanent in my opinion, and a money pit as well since you have to always get a touch-up... if you like to switch things up, and I always say leave your options open for change.

    The way it looks you better off getting a straight perm and getting curly hair style with rollers or something because by looks of it it the same as regular straight perm once you wear your straight curls out at the end of the day your curls will loosen hair now just looks stretch out and dry looking curls you can barely see it... It doesn't look healthy at all just my opinion

But jump on that boat if you must, to each their own....I wouldn't recommend it nor pay for it 🤷🏾‍♀️. I feel like any hair style that looks natural and beautiful these hair dressers always want to be charging so much!!! Like GinaCurls, and Microlinks. Like so expensive more than braids, locs, and wig installs and they don’t even take long!!!

    I was fascinated to see the return of the curly perm, which was around in the 80's. It's strange to see it make a come back once again. I cannot have this procedure done to my hair as I was born with naturally curly hair type 3A/3B. It looks exactly like the hair you are trying to have, as I was born as a biracial mix race person with this type of hair. I do fined it fascinating to watch, black people try to turn their hair into my hair type, I feel honored to see people of color, try to have my hair texture. I use to be very envious of people who had straight hair and wish that I was born with straight hair. Eventually I learn to love my own hair type, which is classified as a type 3A/3B hair and am now embracing my own natural curls for the first type in a long time. Its been 7 years now since I've embrace my natural hair free from relaxers. God bless all hair types and may we learn to "love", the hair we was born with!!!

    People who are complaining need to produce all these bad results they claim exist because of the GinaCurl...I have yet to find one. Even from women who have had this technique for years and hair almost down to their waist now. Gina's work speaks for itself and only further solidifies and justifies the price she charges. The rest can stay mad. ☕️
    OR...they can get their favorite stylist to invest in Gina's program that certifies and teaches other stylists in her technique and they can drop the prices on their own (which we all know won't happen so stop pretending as if a black stylist will somehow charge less for the GinaCurl when they won't). 👀
