    Hi Saukki again a nice video.I can really recommend the DF XL i have had mine for 2 month now an it is great fun to ride,in my garage the DF XL is the racingbike and my Quest carbon is the touringbike because of the large luggage space and more soft suspension(i have the red springs).The DF XL is faster,i think it is around 1,0-1,5km/t average over a year,but it feels much faster.
    But with bad asfalt it is slower because of the hard suspension and narrow racingtires,i feel too that it is louder inside than the Quest.Regards Michael

    C'mon. We're ALL planning for our next velo....LOL!
    I need to try out Cameron's DF xl with a 100 tooth chain ring and Schlumph mountain drive, and compare it to my Quest. Video to follow soon!

      Catrike & The Flaming Eyeball haha, I also came from bentrider. Does he still want a bigger chainring? That's insane though

    • @TheFlamingEyeball
      @TheFlamingEyeball 6 років тому

      Yes....such slow speeds as averaging 30-35 mph is just not good enough for him.

      @gabrielpayan5971 6 років тому

      Catrike & The Flaming Eyeball it's insane! How does he do it? I'm averaging 180 watts to hold 20mph in my Rotovelo, well, based on an online calculator

      Well for one he rides a DFXL, which by many standards is lighter and more efficient than a RV, it is what it is. Another thing is he is young. 12 years younger than me, and has plenty of time to work out. It's pretty much all he does. So he is very fit and trains a lot more than most. Look him up on BROL and ask him his stats. He has most of it.

    I have changed bolt in the rear df wheel today and no more problem now

    Watch out! You can get addicted to a DF Haha!
    Interesting to see his modifications at the rear arm. Mine (old) DF-XL has some problems too. Ymte says it's OK and normal.
    Taro his very strong and fast. He was in 2016 in the Netherlands (Cyclevision). He was the winner of the 6 hour race. Even faster than Daniel and Ymte! Both with a DF. Respect!

    Hi Saukki,
    Nice review as ever! I would have wanted a bit more of a "bottom line" regarding speed. Did you do any speed comparisons between the DFXL and your Quest?

    • @MischaESC2

      Yes, you said so in the video. Sorry, should've known :)

    Thanks Saukki, I remember the owner of the DF XL at cyclevision in Amsterdam a couple of years ago. He was so fast.

    HI Saukki, a further good advice to have a look at! I already have tested a Quest but struggleing at my height-perhaps because of the 170mm pedal-arms (my knees scratches at the inner contour of the hatch)At the moment there is only one velomobil available that is so-called big enough to give space for guys over 195cm- the Orca. A very nice Velo, but it is heavy. What is about the dfxl? It seems to be smaller than the Quest in any case-isn't it? Best regards from Germany, yours Wilm

      I suggest you try shorter cranks. I use 155 mm cranks, and I like them. They say that in DF-xl there should be enough room for 200 cm rider. DF's manhole is smaller, which means that the manhole edge is further away of your knees. You should try one.

      Saukki - The Velomobile Channel yes, the DFxl is big enough for a 200cm rider because Ymte is also 200 cm.

      I haven’t done that kind of ranking. But I bet someone has done it in the german velomobile forum 🤔

    Haha what I've been waiting for lol. Great review! Did you find yourself faster in this than your Quest?

    • @TheVelomobileChannel
      @TheVelomobileChannel  6 років тому +1

      The DF sure feels fast because of the very stiff drivetrain. But I couldn’t do any reliable speed test, because Tero’s pedals were just too far away for me, so I couldn’t find comfortable seating position.

    • @gabrielpayan5971

      Saukki - The Velomobile Channel Great response. I had the same problem trying out a Quest because I was about 4 inches shorter than the owner
