That 1070 guy wasn't a troll, I saw him and asked asking price with post as well. He got back to me saying he could do that, and then I asked for pictures but he reposted the ad with the price being 350. I offered 260 but he had turned to the dark side and wasn't accepting any offers because he had 'too many offers.' I genuinely needed that as I have a wifi card but only one pcie x1 slot..
You should come to Malaysia, man. Deals here are absolutely GODLY. GTX1050s, RX 470 are only about 75 USD used here. I also found a listing on Carousell (Malaysian USED site) RX5500XT 4GB for 175 USD. Love from Malaysia!
Last time I had coil whine was on an old optiplex system I spruced up as an eSports Gaming rig in 2016. The damned thing was atrocious, like way louder than what you showed today because it was obnoxiously loud, so I bought a Corsair 550watt 80+ bronze to solve it. I love old 775 chips, did the BSEL tape mod on the Q6600 so it ran at 3.0ghz, chucked in 8gb of RAM, a 120gb SSD, 1tb HDD, and a GTX 750 ti from AliExpress. Basically maxxed out the specifications. Gave a 1080p monitor, keyboard, and WiFi dongle with it and set it up and delivered it all for cost. Probably my favourite build to date.
Dude I just wanna say you do inspire some of I watched some of your videos over the last few months and took 200$ and little love and i made an optiplex ssf and an old mining card. Having zero experience with computers and building did some research followed some youtube videos and read some long blogs and flipped it as a full gaming pc playing modern warfare at 120 fps on medium and hes been extremely happy since. You inspire people me being one of them, taking something dusty and deemed trash and some cleaning, with a little thermal paste could be something so rewarding not even about the money honestly just ready for next project lmao.
I’m proud to say I’m following in your footsteps. This month alone I’ve spent over $3,000 (USD) in used parts and my workshop is starting to fill up. Can’t wait for next month’s hull when people are starting school/college!
Bryan: I think I'm gonna take a couple of days off Me: Oh cool, what do you get up to in the off time? Bryan: Mostly fix up PCs, do some TYL and record videos ya know
Love your videos. Reusing what others don’t want or need. I have a hard time passing up used PCs that are given to me. I strip the parts and resell or mix them into another PC. It’s one less piece of what one person thinks is junk heading to a landfill the way I see it. You do a good service and love what you do while making a living at it. Cheers!
The second part was great as always my man! Definitely enjoying the full 50 minutes of straight up used deal hunt! I'd still love to be able to use some Tech Yes Rap in my Used PC videos though, think about releasing it on a free copyright source ;)
I bought 2 PC's for flipping, which were in the same thermaltake cases and had PSU's with coilwhine. They were corsair cx600 and they had a coilwhine even when the pc was turned off. I replaced both the PSU's with working ones and sold the cx600's as semi-faulty. They were picked up by a guy who is deaf for high pitches and he is happy with them.
I've had coil whine on an old XFX 750w PSU. I actually purchased it 2nd hand so I had no choice but to throw it out and purchased a brand new fully modular Antec 750w PSU. This happened 8 years ago and the Antec is still going strong.
Also good shout with the TP, who gives a ballbags how you spread it on, get it on there! I did have my own prebuild PC ship to me with no thermal paste at all.. from a well known UK company. I emailed then but they didn't wanna do anything about it. I buy parts from another place now and build my own PC's.
Helps your boners absorb the calcium enit. Also it makes sense that your back and chest absorb the most sun because they have the most surface area aswell. If you got a big old butt, wap that out aswell.. can't go wrong Hmm.. maybe you can
I got coil whine on a new corsair PSU, I was absolutely livid. Also love the fact that you are a Aussie UA-camr, I can catch the videos minutes after upload.
you are the reason i built my potatoe and have been using it for years. Dell Optiplex 980, i7-880, 4x4gb Corsair xms3, 1gb GTX750, 240gb hdd (internal), 1tb hdd (external), Redragon keyboard and mouse.
"I can't hear it, it's fine" lol I love how resistant to bargaining he was attempting, yeah man he's gotta budge a little bit if you gotta replace the psu.
Tech YES you should get a van or an SUV with folding rear seats to give you that extra carrying space so that you can make more trips without needing to unload and then go back out again.
Yea you've got that right, lol. That night footage was pretty potato but it could've been better; if you had the phone on a fixed mini tripod or something just so you didn't have to apply the stabilization effect adding that weird warping effect onto the footage.. or wavy effect, whatever you wanna call it lmao! Of course, great content as always and I love how you've just become the local Aussie computer dumpster just feining for your next fix bahahaha Keep it up, Bry Guy!
That free FX chip, motherboard etc is perfect, "free" is the best price for a deal by being in the right place at the right time. That'll get someone playing a few fun games.
Brian does the police pull you over sometimes as I can only imagine their faces when they see you rolling by in a Stinger loaded with tech? Love the hustle and bro your editing is crackalacking!!
The Cooler Master PSU from my first build (AM3 based) had coil whine, brand new, fresh out of the box. Also, a corner of the box was dented in and the large box that all my parts came in was in horrible condition with a huge hole ripped in the side. The retailer (newegg.com) replaced the PSU for free. This is the only time I've ever had coil whine from a PSU.
They are putting 24GB on RTX 3080 or whatever the best would be called, don't know about the other models. Probably the mid-high range would be 11GB(I'm talking about a GTX 1070/1070 Ti range) and then 8GB for like a GTX 1650 super.
Brian just got done editing a video for a client at 2:30 A.M. and tomorrow I have to work Tier 2 Tech Support from 8:30 A.M. - 2:30 P.M. BUT I ALWAYS GOT TIME FOR MY FAVORITE AUSSIE MATE!!!!! #TechYesCitizen #What'sCrackalackin
I just got a RX 5500 XT 8GB for 80$ today. I’m so happy with this deal. I honestly thought it wasn’t going to be a working card. But the seller let me test it out and I checked if it was a fake and such it wasn’t. The seller just didn’t have a use for it because he accidentally bought 2 and just needed it gone ASAP.
Those thermaltake cases must have been released with the PSU. I have about 4 of those and they are identical to those in your video. 2 of them had the coil whine, so frustrating
Not sure I agree with perfect VRAM on 10 series, 1050ti had 4GB vs a 1060 with 3GB, that was a wrinkle for sure. But I'd take that for the price to performance increases we got back then, at this rate I'll replace my 1080ti when it dies, going to be $1200AUD for a 3080, not seeing a value proposition there yet, waiting for RDNA2 and the 40 series at this rate.
Great deals what I been doing with older systems is adding a 128 Gb Samsung ssd since I got a great deal on 10 for $100. And I give the PC's 4-8 Tb of HDD storage 16gb of ram and I include a paid license to primo cache the I super charge that HDD with ram cache and 128gb od ssd cache. Makes a huge difference even on dramless nvme boot drives or qlc it never slows down minimum sustained writes 1153-1325mbs Love this channel and the deal hunting as gives me other places to look other then Facebook / Reddit Part 2 wins has the cat tax built in.
I saw that 1070 Katana too, was wondering whether i should have bought it but really am not sure about how good those single slot coolers are.. also picked up the same psu this week with the same coil whine so loud and unuseable..
Yup i got coil whine like that before from a brand new coolermaster 750w mwe psu and i ignore it and just use it, eventually the psu fail on me and im out of warranty even though it still got 5 year left since i bought it from amazon us
Cooler Master 650W MWE Gold here, bought it around a year+ ago brand new from one of the biggest hardware retailer in my country. It has coil whine but I can only hear it if I put my ear next to the back of the PC/PSU or when its really silent in my room/outside. Thought about returning it to the retailer but this is not bad enough to get a replacement for, so I just didn't bother and use it like that. Other than that its still working just fine, fan is also silent in it. Same 5 years warranty but if it actually dies on me then I can just return it to the retailer and they will deal with the warranty. 'thats how retailer warranty works in my country'
I see you got the BenQ gw2255, im currently using that monitor and it is really easy on the eyes and the color accuracy is very good. **have it since 2013**
Bryan, what is your sales outlet? Is it eBay, Gumtree, shopfront or your proprietary website? Whilst I am in Melbourne, I have many friends in Brisbane (original home) and the Goldie. Cheers.
Nice deals, man! Funny thing, the market price in Queensland seems to be pretty close to market prices in the Seattle area, even though you're hunting with AUD and I'm hunting with USD. Can any other US West Coasters back me up on this?
Great looks like one of your bests one mate, you'll be busy for a while :D im trying to find somewhere to get good used parts from, where i live in France the used parts are hard to find and expensive, pretty much all i have is ebay at the moment, unless i can bulk buy the shipping is very exepensive... good luck with your builds
10 series has GDDR5 20 series has GDDR6 so I’m guessing Nvidia didn’t feel the need to up the actual amount of ram as the change in type was enough of a performance gain.
Hey Brian, Would you still think that the rx5700 series is still a viable option now? I bought around 5 of them and almost all gave me some kind of trouble😠 which is not nice when you build to sell.

Bryan, it's not just one thing that stood out to me, it's the amount of stuff you picked up! Keep it up, love the content.
You have to love how Bryan went on a deal spree which filled two cars for less than the new top of the line Nvidia card is going to cost.
