Hey Bryan. Do you think that people are asking stupid prices for used parts because the dealers are asking stupid prices for new parts? Tenth gen mobos are way way overpriced. This is a trend. I looked up some whole used systems in Brisbane in the last few days and many prices are stupidly high given what is being offered. That's not good. And by the way. Your beer choice is questionable dude. Cheers, Mon from Brisbane.
Hi Brian, I got an idea for some additional Tech Yes Lovin'. I recently got into spray painting old PC cases. It's really quick and easy to do and can really spice up some of those dull, old, grey cases you normally don't want to use anymore because of their appearance. You can even spray paint the ugly metal inside of the case in a specific color and/or go wild with the colors to make your own artwork! After that little bit of extra work it looks as good as new and can easily earn you a quick buck more, especially since these cases can be considered 'Tech Yes exclusives' after that 😁
Paints one way to go for sure. Another, vinyl adhesive automobile wrap. I threw some glossy 3D carbon vinyl on the sides of a HP Precision and it turned that bland office/desktop server into a pretty nice looking box.
There's a lot you can do to an old case, like I used a sheet metal intake grill as a stencil to drill out intake holes in the cover panel for my unused drive bays, and rigged up an additional intake fan in there, looks no different than had it been manufactured that way just gotta be careful and use proper tools and safety glasses if you're drilling into steel.
@@techyescity Yeah I have my last build from like 15 years ago with a 1.8ghz p4. Kinda nostalgic for the case but I need a security pc to stream all the cameras too so I think Im going to paint it grey or black to sort of modernize it and drop in some newer hardware. Could add some real modern feel to older cases!

Thinking of buying a few of them and making a few gaming PC/workstation for cheap, opinion? Still worth it? Or better off going with the E5 2620 V3 bundles going for closer to 160-170$CDN. Thanks ;)
That GTX 1050 Ti? Could it be? A Gigabyte GTX 1050 Ti G1 Gaming? I've got that GPU myself and it is amazing. Never seen a GTX 1050 Ti OC so well than with that card.
Same thing as far as used parts go here in the midwest (Missouri), people asking $200 for gtx 1060s and even worse, some people are selling even older hardware at original msrp, however it seems as though normal deals are coming back so at least that's good to see. Interesting to see we aren't the only place where this phenomenon is occurring.
I have a great X5650 system which made me a fortune through the last 10 years. Intel X5650 Noctua u12p cooler Gigabyte X58 UD3r 16Gb DDR3 Geforce GTX 1080ti Samsung 840 256Gb 660W Cosair PSU Fractal R2 case MX Master original I'm not even going to sell it because it literally saved my life through it's service I will ask my wife to bury it with me lol. so wanted to hear you opinion,i came across a corsair tx750m psu on amazon for 12 dollars . i ordered 20 of them then went to order more and seen they took down the post and reposted them for 120 so it was a misprice. Was i wrong for ordering them at that price? they did send them.
yeah , been searching for deals on graphics cards myself this saturday and it just like ppl want to upgrade and earn money in the process. its like they dont even care about new stuff´s prices e performance. that´s a form of robbery in my book. good video as always man. cheers from portugal.
Used market has been a bit rough. Over here in the USA in California, I was getting 1070s for around $200 USD and 1060s for around $100-120 USD. Now all the cards are $50-100 more then 4 or 5 months ago. PSUs can be had, but they are little gems and you gotta snatch them up. Mostly, a 500-800w PSU is nearly MSRP and retail has gone up sharply. The BEST market is 1st and second gen Ryzen for me. HUGE deals on used B350, B450, and X470 with 1st & 2nd gen ryzen CPUs.
I'm still running an i7 3770 with a 6gb GTX 1060 in a MATX form factor as my main rig and loving it, still a good chip and with all Noctua fans, completely silent and running very cool.
The used market in the US is drying up as well (East coast). It's a trickle down from the new supply running out. Even Amazon, BH, and Newegg are back ordered or sold out.
How much can you end up making on this kind of haul? I'm always surprised by what used stuff you can get, and still sell, especially 1st/2nd gen intel still selling well.
Corsair CX650M for 40 is a good deal isn't it? I just bought one new for $95 USD from best buy but of course power supplies have been out of stock and prices increased
Brian what’s up man I’m from the states. I had a few of those ridiculous fluke deals this month. I’m sure you know what I mean. One FB deal was for 2 new cases for 25usd, which was a great deal. I got home and one of the boxes had a fully built gaming pc. 1050ti, 16gb ddr4, i5 7600k. Seller was a lady that I’m pretty sure went to storage auctions, so she probably left the meeting feeling good about the quick 50 bucks she made. I drove home feeling great, you know that amazing feeling you have when you come up big. I’ve been on my own since I was 16 and lately have wanted to share the details with. It’s almost like I’ve gotten to the point where the deals have made me numb because I always am driving home alone after. Idk, just thinking out loud. How do you get by when you have a great week/month Brian? Do you just keep going solo
Did you know you can remove LGA pins and replace them very easily. I just recently found this out from Der8auer's vid about replacing LGA socket pins. I just saved like 10 Elite boards that were basically toast. So i wouldn't throw away any boards with bent pins, cause you can pull'em and replace'em.
Picked up a used GTX 980 Ti FTW for $130 USD. Amazing performance for the price. Card was super clean, gave it a nice treatment to a deep clean anyways and new pads and paste.
Scored myself the 980Ti Hybrid card for 300 AUD about 2 years ago now, off Marketplace. Still using it as my main, even though i scored a Strix 1070 8gb brand spanking new for less than that @ $270 Can't wait for a handful more years ahead when 2070's are worth about the same... 980Ti still plays everything i throw at it.
lol 3$ gtx 1070..hey that works ill grab 2 of em :D those where some sweet pickups. here with gpus things have chilled down. but for some reasson used psus and coolers are still geting snached up in no time. also wating for the new yes mobil update video :D
Loving the aussie content from here in Brisbane! Ive been to Umart a bit to much latley for my cougar qbx build with 3600 and 1060. Now to sell my old computer!
Oh and managed to cop a Ryzen 7 3800X on Yahoo Auctions for 135$CDN shipped, few bent pins. Gonna give it some good ol' tech yes lovin and hope it works, thought?
I have been getting the bargains to build my gaming tower so far ive got a case a 650w PSU, 2 500GB Hard drives, 2 motherboards 1 is a Asus prime a320m and the other one is a MSI B450-A Pro (not sure if it works) and a CPU ryzen 5 2600 and the best part I got all this for free now all I need is RAM, a GPU and maybe an SSD. Have you got any tips on where to find parts for cheap in the UK or got any parts you want to send me to finish my build :)
Yeah, I live in Los Angeles and the used computer market here is insane. The prices usually drop before new stuff comes out but it seems like all the prices are skyrocketing. Can't even find a decent power supply now.
I'm going to my sisters house will hang around and maybe i will get lucky... crickets... then adds with used pc parts... ohhh I get yah now, thought you were a tasmanian there for a bit.
I see some Intel Xeon E3-1240 v2 E3 online sold for Php 3,422 about 100 AUD, and Sapphire Nitro Plus RX 570 4GB for Php 5,795 about 168.51 AUD, is it a good bargain price?
My YES deals have been: Ryzen 5 1400, 12gb ram, 400W cooler master psu 80 plus, and a 240gb ssd for 160 usd. Then a GTX 1070 Inno3d for 140usd. A Ryzen 3 1200, 8gb ram, 250gb hdd, RX 570, semi modular 520w psu and some zalman s3 or z3 case for 170 usd. Good month!
Those Gigabyte 980Ti G1Gaming cards are great, I picked up two of them recently for two of my friends, one I won a bid on ebay of $230 with $20 shipping (AU) and one off Geetree for $280, so I split the difference as they are a couple and they are still great cards, both overclocked really nicely. Paired them with a i7 6700 and a i7 4790 (both non K SKU), easy ultra settings high FPS in 1080p AAA titles still today.
Still need PSU's to finish off the systems though as I'm using some dodgy ones ($20 MSY special 1500W and a 450 SFF Corsair unit that's been recalled) but as you probs know, there are just zero new PSU's available right now. Waiting for PCCasegear to get the Seasonic Prime Ultra Gold 850W into stock.
Thanks a Ton for all these videos you make Ive been able to make extra income and keep a nice desktop and laptop around. Ive traded some desktops for some gaming laptops and right now am working on some third gen i7 units paired with MSI GTX970 gpus.
I bought a used system and a "faulty" PSU. the used system booted just fine and I took it apart because I only wanted the motherboard, ram and case. then I bought a psu tester because I thought it's a good thing to have. the tester starts beeping because the psu PG signal was only 190ms but the system booted just fine before. is it safe to use for a future build? additionally, the psu tester tells me that the "faulty" PSU is fine and all voltages are great. the seller told me that this faulty PSU kept turning on and off when it was in his system and only unplugging stopped it. is this possible and how much can I trust a psu tester?
hi brian, ive Had many motherboards with bent pins on the socket, i also noticed that the graphics cards where stuck on 8x in gpuz instead of 16x but managed to fix them all with a pair of tweezers seems that in most cases it will fix that problem have you ever come across this issue?
Graphics card fixed with tweezers? which part did you prod? I have cleaned down the pcie pins before to get a GPU working, but never noticed the x8 vs x16 issue.
@@techyescity the motherboard socket pins where the cpu go on the Intel boards many times I had the 16x 8x problem when checking gpuz and then found a pin on mobo that was out of place, when I fixed the bent pin issue the cards would run at 16x and not 8x before I fixed the bent pins or pin, it happened many times to me and as soon as I got the 8x problem I knew how to fix it, I'm surprised you haven't yet come across this problem maybe you didn't realize it was affecting the gpu to run 8x not 16x
Hey TYC I've been trying to look up an answer to my question, with ryzen G apus on a gigabyte a320 mobo can you increase the buffer size from 256 to 2gb?
I'm sure that FSP 350W actually is a true 450... My old 400W FSP if you calculated the wattage yourself with the amps on the sticker, it makes the 400W on the 12V by itself (contrary to most psu that barely reach the Wattage on the sticker after additionning the 12V, 5V and 3.3V), and held for years on systems that probably needed somewhere around 500-550W...

so wanted to hear you opinion,i came across a corsair tx750m psu on amazon for 12 dollars . i ordered 20 of them then went to order more and seen they took down the post and reposted them for 120 so it was a misprice. Was i wrong for ordering them at that price? they did send them.
I love your price hunting Brian!!!! keep up the good work!!!!
This month June 2020 has to be the best month so far! I look forward to these every month!!!
Would you be able to test the R9 270x 4gb in some modern games please? All the videos on youtube are about the 2gb variant :/
Would love to see some Z97x Stuff up against the latest tech
Great video as usual!!
yeah , been searching for deals on graphics cards myself this saturday and it just like ppl want to upgrade and earn money in the process. its like they dont even care about new stuff´s prices e performance. that´s a form of robbery in my book.
good video as always man.
cheers from portugal.
Very nice new YES Mobile, it STINGS by the looks of it, very very cool
You've gotta PC for me? Great! Everyone knows a YES PC is the BEST PC!
Do you do any case modding as well? Some Tech Yes Blinging?
I love those x58 systems. Those are awesome to get at that price!
....woooah your steering wheel is on the wrong side.....( just an merican acting up) lol!
Great Northern, ewwww.
good watch I’m still rocking a i7-2600k and have been sniffing around for a cheapish upgrade
Great deals.as a heads up.those hp 8200 elite's suports the new rx 4/5 xx series, and the psu's can be changed with an regular adapter.
So i wouldn't throw away any boards with bent pins, cause you can pull'em and replace'em.
from where i am, you can buy rx series gpu's each averaging around 50$ but the thing is they're faulty but easily repairable.
Thank you Tech Yes City I really appreciate your videos from New York
Brian You died your hair? Did someone called you old INSTEAD of experienced AHAHAHA JK Keep up the awesome work
Picked up a used GTX 980 Ti FTW for $130 USD. Amazing performance for the price. Card was super clean, gave it a nice treatment to a deep clean anyways and new pads and paste.
Scored myself the 980Ti Hybrid card for 300 AUD about 2 years ago now, off Marketplace.
Still using it as my main, even though i scored a Strix 1070 8gb brand spanking new for less than that @ $270
Can't wait for a handful more years ahead when 2070's are worth about the same... 980Ti still plays everything i throw at it.
Hi Brian, do you think i can get 450£ for a amd 860k, r9 290 and dual monitors, mechanical keyboard and razer mouse or is that too much?
lol 3$ gtx 1070..hey that works ill grab 2 of em :D those where some sweet pickups. here with gpus things have chilled down. but for some reasson used psus and coolers are still geting snached up in no time. also wating for the new yes mobil update video :D
Lol was thinking about buying the 980ti with problems after watching your vid on fixing gpus. Should I do it 😂
Great content as always those Red NAS HDD would look great in a Red LED Gaming PC case.
Yeah, I live in Los Angeles and the used computer market here is insane. The prices usually drop before new stuff comes out but it seems like all the prices are skyrocketing. Can't even find a decent power supply now.
Nice pick with Kia Stinger! Way under rated and better than a BMW 4 Series
I'm going to my sisters house will hang around and maybe i will get lucky... crickets... then adds with used pc parts... ohhh I get yah now, thought you were a tasmanian there for a bit.
Great show mate, keep em coming 👍
I see some Intel Xeon E3-1240 v2 E3 online sold for Php 3,422 about 100 AUD, and Sapphire Nitro Plus RX 570 4GB for Php 5,795 about 168.51 AUD, is it a good bargain price?
I wonder how good the Colorful X570 boards are on Ali Express. They were around $300 AUD last time I checked.
Hey bryan those furyx rads are known to lose the liquid inside over time, so if its overheating thats probably why
Brian,do you have italian origins?couse there is a lot of hand movement when you're talking :p
with those part haulin, I thought that the new YES MOBILE would be wagon 🤣
My YES deals have been: Ryzen 5 1400, 12gb ram, 400W cooler master psu 80 plus, and a 240gb ssd for 160 usd. Then a GTX 1070 Inno3d for 140usd. A Ryzen 3 1200, 8gb ram, 250gb hdd, RX 570, semi modular 520w psu and some zalman s3 or z3 case for 170 usd. Good month!
Hunter Fabio that gtx 1070 deal is hella good
Nvm all of them are good :P
Anyone else getting a star trek vibe from these latest videos? Great content!
Hey Bryan - looking sharp this month - loving the content
23:20 😮. All the cars driving on the wrong side of the road 🤔...
Edit: 22:44 😮😮... Driver side is on the wrong side of the car two...
It's upside-down but you can't see that cuz the camera is also upside down but what I'm trying to say is that everything is still on the right side.
nice pick with the stinger 🔥
i hit that like and you inspired me to build gaming PC from used parts. thanks
Me: playing Sekiro
UA-cam notifications: Hello there
General Kenobi
How is the gaming performance on those NAS HDD's?
Picked up an Asus X58 P6X580-E motherboard for £35 and a corsair 750w PSU for £30 so very happy - X5675 build here we come
Those Gigabyte 980Ti G1Gaming cards are great, I picked up two of them recently for two of my friends, one I won a bid on ebay of $230 with $20 shipping (AU) and one off Geetree for $280, so I split the difference as they are a couple and they are still great cards, both overclocked really nicely.
Flipping pc's in the UK is the same, prices gone mad lately!
Context I just ordered new pc parts and itll be coming mid july and just wanted to know
@@thenoobreturnz8968 I think that you can increase the VRAM in the BIOS.
We really need USB-C to take off such that a USB-C dock can have all needed ports for docking (DP,HDMI,USB,Audio,...) plus power in one plug....
