Ay I doubt anyone from LMG will see this, but for what it's worth, the people LOVE ROG RIG Reboot. I get Linus' perspective about not all applicants being top tier presenters on camera, but that's a big reason why we love it so much. We love the awkward exchanges, we love seeing super authentic people who specifically _aren't_ amazing animators on camera but who are still into tech and excited to build/receive their new PC. I think the screening process of asking contestants to make an entertaining video about why they should be selected is plenty. You aren't trying to hire presenters so you don't need to have the same standards when selecting rig reboot winners. As long as they are sociable and can take a joke, we don't care if they aren't the most bubbly, animated, professional presenters. There's a reason one of your most viewed videos is an ROG RIG Reboot. Sure Madison was a pretty unique character, but I mean hooooly, the waves she made in the community was insane, she was so beloved by the community that you actually hired her! (well, lesson learned there I suppose: don't hire random competition winners just because the video was such a hit!) But that's neither here nor there. Point is it's a great way to get new, interesting people in videos who aren't necessarily to the standard of an actual LTT presenter. Just my two-cents. ROG RIG Reboot, Extreme Tech Upgrade, and Scrapyard Wars are my all time favourite LTT series, and I think a majority of other regular viewers/subscribers would agree.

Sometime in 1997 I was invited to attend a demo for BeOS at UT Austin. They had a BeBox that had a dual PPC processor set up. We got to see the BeOS run some amazing graphically intensive tasks, run video and just totally rock our minds. There was a game demoed called “nerd kill” that was hilarious. You had a window full of tiny walking nerds and all you had to do was click with your mouse and kill the nerds. It was an awesome demo and I distinctly remember the presenter talking about hopefully being the future OS alternative for Mac and windows users. The audience each got a CD copy of the most recent at the time version of BeOS. Later that night I remember installing BeOS on a second drive in my Power Computing Power Tower Pro 250. It was an interesting time for computing at the time.
Great content as usual. But I'm having trouble wrapping my head around the screw drivers lol. I guess for someone who has a drawer to toss 10 screw drivers into, this is ideal. However, as a data center technician, I want to limit the amount of tools I carry to the least possible. Perhaps, respectively, you could work on a modular design similar to Wiha or Klein, where you have a grip that the blades themselves are removable and on the butt end of the handle, it expands and has bits that corresponds to a separate attachable blade that utilizes a magnetic bit holder. Perhaps double sided blades, that way a technician could carry a few blades for narrow applications, and the magnetic bit blade for the bits in the end and offer the handle in different sizes for different hands. I would buy it, if it were durable. The issue with Wiha is that the blades get stuck. The issue with Klein is that the magnetic bit is too wide. This is remedied but using long bits, but it makes zero sense on why not just design double sided bits like Wiha. They are not cross compatible, I have tried lol
You should work on two separate halves of the same project and have episodes on both channels leading up to the final… being a two part episode where you combine the two halves you each worked on.
Listening to Linus fumble about building a PC is far better entertainment than listening to music while closing at work. Wish I could've caught this live.
The purpose of the pattern, kata or form is to teach you the different moves in a memorable way and to develop the body's ability to move fluidly between techniques. like learning to dance or the alphabet. Structured Sparring teaches you how to actually use the different moves. Then free sparring teaches you to use them randomly and effectively. Most schools don't really do the last two well if at all so most people end up boxing with a few kicks thrown in.

It would be really cool to see behind the scenes for F1 as for computer tech. If you guys were able to do that I would be extremely shocked F1 teams are very closed doors, understandably. The only thing I could think a team may be down to do is maybe talk about the computer systems they use, and maybe(wishful thinking) they'd let you come to a practice day but I highly doubt it they'd let the cameras roll while the system is in use. For people that don't know, the top teams spend around $100 million a season they gotta have some cool stuff. They actually have a team back at the factory monitoring systems during races, as well as a team on site, like a command center back home then a mobile command center. Now I just thought about it, you may be able to get F1 to let you see their stuff as for what it takes to track cars and broadcast the races, definitely not as cool as seeing what the teams are using but still would be interesting

Weird as it is? One of the best features of active noise canceling headphones and things like the Jawbone, is how clear it was to use them in noisy environments. Wonder what ever happned to jawbone. ?
Quick tip about the fixed handles screwdrivers. Maybe put a hole in the handle or a common standard hex shaft or something. Always nice to be able to put some extra torque on it when needed.
HDR has a bigger impact on quality than ray tracing! Yet it's being surprisingly slept on. Camera technology is mostly there it's just displays from my experience.
56:30 FLAC does take a decent bit of bitrate, often 2-3x a 320 Kbps audio stream (which you can do on Twitch), but to my knowledge, it is supported pretty widely, including in browsers. It is even supported in VRChat's video players. So it isn't out of the realm of possibility to add a 2 channel FLAC stream with the maximum compression setting, when the video is about 10-15x larger than the audio. But then it comes into question if it is worth it, when 192 Kbps or even 160 Kbps audio is imperceptible to 99% of users.
Will not lie... having the chat on the PC case is kinda dope... if you have the case close enough to the camera and have a lens where you have enough depth of field you could do the "chat on the side of the screen" but in camera :P

I just upgraded to almost this exact build, sans the monitor, and an EVGA 3090 FTW3 I was able to get for half the current price. From AMD PILEDRIVER. AMD FX-8320 to AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D. I am absolutely loving it. It's been a much needed upgrade and time to spoil myself.
'Only upgrade when you have a problem'. Absoutely right. I want to add that before upgrading, you should reinstall windows. Because usually what happens is that people upgrade and then they have to reinstall windows anyway and the perceived performance boost is then caused 90% by reinstalling windows and not the hardware upgrade itself. So it makes sense ruling out a broken windows installation (which will necessarily happen to ANY windows installation over time) at first always.
I just rewatched this and I know it’s a year later and I figured the fixed shaft drivers will not become a thing. But possibly offer longer bits that are slimmer in the actual head portion to fit in smaller areas. That way it does not require engineering and reinventing the wheel. I already use longer non-LTT bits in my LTT screwdrivers to get into tighter areas, like that NVMe cover that has recessed screw holes. Offering the bits only will allow cheaper production costs and overhead but still give the same product. They won’t fit in the handle unless you can design them to fit in that space. Not sure if LTT has discovered it yet, but on Etsy there are some sellers that sell LTT specific screw driver holder with bit holders. Built in. They offer dual holders for the regular and the stubby in one holder with the ability to hold all of the offered bits. So someone can use that to carry the longer bits.

56:00 Twitch does not compress anything, except for the lower quality versions. The source quality on a stream is just a straight up `-c copy` for both audio and video, at least it used to be. Twitch explained this in their dev blog. It is much more cost-effective to impose restrictions on bitrate, resolution, frame rate, and other factors than it is to transcode the same resolution as the source.

Holy crap! Linus finally made it past the first level of Doom Eternal!
Bro, I just got scammed in Micro Center paid this exact same price for a PC and you’re telling me you got all of that including monitor for the same price of $4000?
my favorite part about Linus is that he has never gone full Neil Degrasse Tyson on us and just thought he was the only one with an important opinion. been watching the LTT channel for... sheeeesh idk. almost a decade now? keep at it man.
This guy is an absolute maestro of damage control and management. He turned a disaster into boosting sales, PR and employee morale.
I don't even own a pc but when i do im going to be ready with the amount of pc building videos I've seen
Sir, Give me $500 dollars I want to built my first ever dream PC ..
@RTBOY954x oh really you could give me if it's low ass dream . You can't afford this too ...
@RTBOY954x do you know I can buy a land in $500 lol its lot of money
The purpose of the pattern, kata or form is to teach you the different moves in a memorable way and to develop the body's ability to move fluidly between techniques. like learning to dance or the alphabet. Structured Sparring teaches you how to actually use the different moves. Then free sparring teaches you to use them randomly and effectively. Most schools don't really do the last two well if at all so most people end up boxing with a few kicks thrown in.
To be honest that is one of the most honest give aways I have seen in a long time a 3 in 25 chance is generous even for the low tier prices good on you guys ltt.
I got my Y60 back in Feb and I can’t see me changing cases for some time now! Love it
do you find there is enough clearance at the glass ? I'm about to get the case and have an Asus tuf 4090 and I'm scared the gpu temps will be high.
@@Jack16114 oooft yeah you will struggle I think. I have a 3090 Ti and it’s fine but a 4090 is a 4 slot isn’t it? Would be fine if you water cooled though?
I would watch a LTT 3D printing channel with Dan
Now I just thought about it, you may be able to get F1 to let you see their stuff as for what it takes to track cars and broadcast the races, definitely not as cool as seeing what the teams are using but still would be interesting
this, I want to see those enterprise servers for a huge data the cars produced
Everyone has to start somewhere Linus, but taking a shot at Paul's Hardware wasn't cool.
lmao
Recommendation for large size screwdrivers is have a fitting on the back to fit a wrench to get torque on those rusted large screw
500Hz monitor. That is going to make reading emails one hell of a damn smooth experience.😂
Linus is my favorite person to watch do a stream and PC build. His personality is so down to earth
LTT should do an updated video on newer ATX 3.0 and PCIE 5.0 power supplies. I'm trying to decide if I should get the Corsair 1200w Shift or something else. Would like to see more power supply videos at makers start producing these newer spec units.
1:55:02 To the Audiologist in ScotLand, I just found out that a Brain injury can affect your hearing and speech clarity. Even though your ears are physically okay, what you end up hearing can be completely different to what is said. And speech can be difficult to hear. Let alone affect how you hear sounds. Weird as it is? One of the best features of active noise canceling headphones and things like the Jawbone, is how clear it was to use them in noisy environments. Wonder what ever happned to jawbone. ?
Can't wait for WAN show LET'S GO!
Quick tip about the fixed handles screwdrivers. Maybe put a hole in the handle or a common standard hex shaft or something. Always nice to be able to put some extra torque on it when needed.
I have that case and I do enjoy it.
When I first saw the case it immediately became my favorite. Very happy with it as well.
Will not lie... having the chat on the PC case is kinda dope... if you have the case close enough to the camera and have a lens where you have enough depth of field you could do the "chat on the side of the screen" but in camera :P
theyre back!!
Compressor vs Canned Air - I actually have a small fireplace bellows. Works quite well, and no cans to trash.
Linus really makes everything seems harder than it should be
He never removed the middle glass panel and it really irritated me. Especially since I have it myself and it look me all of 30 seconds to figure it out.
Just a note about the Quebec thing, its not discrimination they have laws restricting free giveaways to require them some skill based aspect for awarding prizes.
I came to the live stream 5 seconds before it ended :D
Love my Datavac blower for cleaning parts, works amazing!
Ltt got hacked and started live stream
We cannot see how it feels since you record max 60 Hz video and our displays are also below 500 Hz.
I wish PC parts was cheaper

I just upgraded to almost this exact build, sans the monitor, and an EVGA 3090 FTW3 I was able to get for half the current price.
From AMD PILEDRIVER.
AMD FX-8320 to AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D.
I am absolutely loving it. It's been a much needed upgrade and time to spoil myself.

Linuis or LMG or Luke need to look into a Datavac ESD for an electronic duster. I have one and it's honestly amazing.
Honestly, you should just send me the pc
Holy Crap!!! I love this info that Linus is putting out!! It is like I am in Biz201 in highschool taking University classes senior year!! This is great additional content around 2h mark!!! I feel like I should be taking notes!
36:00 thought I was watching Canadian QVC. Lol love the new products.
I'm sorry, 6 XL? Is that seriously a thing? Isn't that at that point basically just a tents worth of fabric? I could probably use that as a car cover.
I liked the plant question. I wish Linus would look into the experiment where the guy used mirror to redirect sunlight into a fiber optic cable in order to filer out all the bad uv rays and the tomato plant grew to a crazy size and produce 900 tomatoes on one plant!
DIYPerk Collab idea:
Let him build some DIY thing and you run it through the lab and test it.
Just one day prior to this live I've ordered the Hyte Y60 Snow White and the display for the screen mod. Amazing
Every damn video.... That Milwaukee drill back there always gets my attention
This came on today and I ended up re watching it. I think ssd boot times were important especially for those who worked in education. Having shared workstations(classrooms ....adjunct professors etc...) adding the ssd made reboots and log in times so much faster. That was more important to us at the time due to wasted time waiting for a machine to reboot or download someone's profile
Ahhh... the shaft girth. I know exactly what you're talking about now, but I forgot everything from before you said it.
HOW
HOW DID YOU KNOW THE NEW COUNTER STIKE 2 WAS COMING.

Anyone else have the issue of the clickable link just randomly opening and taking you to Facebook when your phone is sitting on a counter and in full screen? This channel does it for every single video and I don't have this issue with any other channel.
Case goals. I love white cases and the yellow sticker is just the icing on the cake for me. Yes, I'm a nerd.

I was not expecting Martial art talk during the epic PC build!
Also,I like Kung fu!

Forget the 500Hz monitor, I'm gonna build this to game on that case display.
With the concern over viewers being subpar on camera, perhaps the cable management makeover series could be a kick them out for however long kind of thing and surprise them with the result. That way they’re only on camera for a couple short segments.
Not Linus just casually throwing kicks and punches around a bunch of expensive computer equipment.
