@@NerdSidekick thanks. I think one of the fears of building a pc is buying all the parts then doing something wrong. but, I won't even try until i feel completely confident. Still have to finish watching this video, was pretty excited with the first 5 minutes.
This is the best "how to build a PC" video I have ever watched. I haven't built my own PC in many years. I really enjoyed learning about all the new components. This video makes me want to build a new one. Thank you!
Sir I just wanted to thank you for probably the most comprehensive how-to video I've ever seen on building computers. I build my own computers since 1995 and seen many videos but yours is on a whole different level so you have my respect and gratitude and God bless you because your guide is a master class guide.
Absolutely FABULOUS tutorial, I have been searching for two weeks on utube to find out how to build a computer. You show every step clear, concise, SLOWLY, most other donot show all of the mouse clicks and dropdown menus like you do. YOU are truly for a beginner as I am, THANK YOU SO MUCH. You have given me the confidence I need to try this on my own. The only thing is on asus website they talk about renaming the downloaded bios file on their tutorial page as a step to perform, but either way you are great.
Thanks for your nice comments! For normal BIOS updates (like I show in the video), you do NOT need to rename the file. The only time you have to rename the file is if you can't get into your BIOS and you have to use the ASUS FlashBack feature. For example, if you lost power during a BIOS update, this might happen. In that case, you can plugin a USB flash drive into a special FlashBack port on the motherboard, press a button on the motherboard, and a new BIOS file will be installed. For this to work, the motherboard will look for a file with a specific name. The BIOSRenamer program will take care of renaming the file correctly so the FlashBack feature can work. This page explains how to do this: www.asus.com/us/support/faq/1038568/
feel good about watching this video after reading your comment. So many other pc building videos seem like their more for people already with pc building skills, or to try and make the video look more professional they skip over too more.
My approach to this video was to teach as if someone had little to no experience building computers. Building one is actually easy when you break it down and take it "slow and easy." Good luck!
pc was dying decided its time to upgrade. Last i built a pc was back in 2019 and i am rusty. Used your video as a guidance and my pc booted up first try! thanks alot!
You, sir, have been the blessing I never thought I needed. I have always wanted to refer to a "How to Build a PC" UA-cam video, but everything just looked so tacky. From annoying music and overused memes to just outright nonsense. Your video is very educational, straightforward, and professional. Thank you so much for this. I will spread this video to educate others as much as I can in response to your efforts and time for this video.
I've found this instructional guide just at the right time. I've decided that it's time for me to build my own computer. Being of the same generation as the instructor, I found this not only useful but also reminiscing about when I got my first computer 30 years ago, opening it up and seeing what appeared to be a jumble of wires and cables. Not to mention, hard drives of such proportions, that could break toes if you happened to drop them. This has now given me the boost in confidence to proceed and get this computer built and working. Thank you so much.
Hello Fred, I rarely comment but this video deserved one. I have built several PCs over the years but not for several years, so I watched your video for new information and clarifications. Yes, I learned a few new things, but I especially appreciate your calm, unstressed, and patient demeanor. This was a great instructional and informational video, so thank you for your all of your effort. Kudos!
Thank you for making this video. It's the most comprehensive pc-build instructional video I've seen. This is a real learning video as opposed to so many that emphasize entertainment over teaching. And you have the perfect demeanor for this.
thanks man. all the other videos were a bit hyper for me, it threw me off because I am intimidated by building a PC and the last thing i wanted was someone in my face shouting with LED lights everywhere. This video went at the pace I am willing to work at. Cheers
Man..this is the most informative and interesting PC build video on youtube. I am lacking confidence in buliding my own PC even after watching so many videos but after watching your step by step guide on PC build I can sure I can build it without any problem. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.
I just saw this video in my recommended youtube home page, I haven't built a computer in about 10 years so this is a really great video. Thank you for taking the time to go slow, teach and explain things. I plan on building a Micro-ATX PC this coming December. Subscribed to you. :)
An amazing job- only thing I wished is that you had installed a 360mm All-in-one water-cooled unit, as the gaming crowd typically is leaning that way over an air-cooled solution. Yes, I know there are even more complex 'custom built water loops' that could be their own video subject, plus the external air-conditioner or "chiller" units which are truly pushing the envelope, and then the liquid nitrogen for the benchmark crowd. Of course at some point one begins to challenge Dr. Frankenstein... "It's ALIVE!!" Thanks for your talented and well-thought-out presentation, with the added plus of amazing photography and editing. I have built my own PC years back, this is a nugget of information that will help many UA-camrs. Much appreciated!
What a great video. You have done a really great job in telling us how to assemble our own computer. Not only have you explained in detail how to do it, but you have given us close-ups so we can see what you did. By taking the time to show close-up shots it allows us to see exactly what you are doing, where things get connected, etc. The quality of your video includes great lighting, sound, close-ups, etc. I really appreciate the amount of time it takes to get something like this put together. Thanks again for your hard work in making this first class video.
This is one of the most comprehensive Videos on a computer build. The video editing too is superb. Very calm and I can spend hours listening to you. I will give you 20 out of 10 for not including pesky, distracting and irritating music. Cheers!!!
one of the best instructional videos i have ever seen. i had zero questions when you were done. the explanation and camera work is first class. thank you for your time that you invested in the video. cheers
Your channel is a true gem. Thank you so much i watched the whole thing, im not a tech beginner but i just used this to get my memory refreshed on the whole process, best video ever made on PC building. Love the channel, the style and the charisma. Keep it up!
I just purchased a pre bulilt PC (cyberpower i14400f) and I know how to add memory or another NVMe but I have zero clue how to add more fans onto top into an existing system without adding AIO. The RGB, ARGB, additional controllers confuse heck out of me. How would I add more fans to the top of the case and have them sync with my current color scheme. I’m happy to become a sub. This is perhaps the most detailed video I’ve seen.
This is a great video. I have experience in the past servicing and building various electronic devices, but never built my own computer, but looking to upgrade to a gaming computer, and your tutorial explains a lot. Thanks
Very well done video, I am in the process of acquiring components to build my first computer and really enjoyed the depth of your video. The best I have found so far. Thank you
Fantastic I just completed my first build and this was my resource for putting the pieces together. All steps and images were clear and easy to follow. Only thing I would have used a dot of thermal paste instead of spreading. My paste was a bit sticky. Thanks for your hard work on this video.
Thank you sir, absolute respect from my side, I just found this video today, this is already a gem to me, I was preparing my self for building a pc and then this video comes in my feed it's really a best guide for me, again huge respect to you sir subscribed watching the first video itself ❤
I haven't built a PC for 30+ yrs, things have changed since my last build, that I knew nothing about. Having watched all the way through, I'm more informed than I was, trying to decypher from the various different startup guides, that assume you are conversant with recent tech: ref computers. I'm not or rather wasn't, I sort of worked out what some were, but found one cable in case that didn't make any sense, then traced cable back to it's origin and found I don't need it anyway. Might have been nice to have list of cables in case, but apart from a quick guide, nothing. This was a problem 35 yrs ago, translation was, to say the least hit and miss. It's much better today, but just using pictograms doesn't help. This is a good refresher course, all the way through there was something to be understood easily. I especially liked the install for win 11. the last install I did was win 98!!! Thanks for helping an old man feel not so stupid as I was before watching.
Never stop learning! That's a great way to live. Thanks for coming on the journey. There's always something new coming around the corner, so I'm glad to help share the latest.
I found this video to be an excellent source of information, with a high level of detail. I have been watching it for three days and have not yet finished, as I am taking the time to review and understand the content fully. I am using it as a reference for future reference. I would like to thank you for creating this valuable resource. I hope you will continue to publish new and useful content. 🙏
Really well done video, nicely paced and I like that you don't assume any viewer knowledge on the various aspects of the build. Great close ups and so on for the "fiddly bits"!
It's always a balancing act with providing the right amount of instruction without making it so basic that people lose interest. But I like to err on the side of assuming people don't know most things. That way they aren't left with missing important info.
@@NerdSidekick I just finished it! i didn't even let the case opened, that's how sure i was i got everything right! And, of course, it's all thanks to you kind sir, God bless u!, I installed pwm fans, argb lights, etc, the case wiring was so ez, i almost did it with my eyes closed! YOU ARE AMAZING, this tutorial should be shared on all tech sites!
Hey man, thanks for the tutorial. It was definitely stressful, building my first pc, but you helped me out a lot. Now of course, I had to use different videos and sources for some parts, but it all worked out in the end. Now I just need to install the GOU (on the 9th November because it arrived late).
Excelente vídeo educational i am now 61 i have bean building computeres as a hobby since 1987 i find it relaxing i have instaled diferente OS .. i have subscribed wish you well
great video but I did have that exact same case (older version with 2 140mm front fans), and on the back, you removed that one large panel for cable management. Unless Lian Li changed that case's specs, that other smaller cover panel hides a fan hub. My 2 140mm fans were connected to it from the factory, but it was a great place to connect the rear exhaust fan with a long cable. No extensions needed. Just an observation, but this is a good video for anyone considering building their first PC, everything covered all in one!
El mejor video de toda la web de como armar una PC paso a paso , eres una persona que explica excelente y de manera magnífica !! Es una clase magistral !! Te felicito , un saludo desde Montevideo,, Uruguay.
Superb video. Many thanks indeed. My first build successful. I watched and re-watched this every step of the way. The only thing missing for me was any mention of installing Linux rather than Windows and how that might impact the updating BIOS and installation process. Perhaps you could make a video just of that process on a new-build PC - that would be very helpful. I didn't bother updating the BIOS. Linux installed fine. Thanks again 👍
It's been many years since I messed with Linux, so I am not currently "equipped" to make a video about that topic. My focus has always been on the Windows operating system.
My first PC with included monitor keyboard & mouse in 1995 was an AST running Win 3.1 on a 486 with 8 MB RAM $3000.00. my how far technology has come. I'm currently doing a Ryzen 5 5600g build with all the goodies about A$1000.00 Great tutorial, hardly a Sidekick guidance.
The Top video to learn all about how to build a PC. Thank you very much for that! I understand that a lot of free hours went into this video to make something like that, but it certainly worked out perfectly. I wanted to order the parts next week based on your lists, unfortunately not in your country because of the high import tax and shipping costs to the Netherlands. But unfortunately, I've read several posts about the stability issues Intel has with the 13th and 14th Gen CPUs. The offered solutions can only be realized by upgrading via the Bios. If something goes wrong there, your motherboard is probably defective as well. It seems to me that as an absolute beginner in PC building, I'd be better off waiting for Intel to find a definitive solution. What is your opinion on that? Should we start or wait and see?
I started making this video before the Intel problem reached "critical mass" but I might have gone in a different direction if I was buying parts now. However, Intel has extended the warranty for the affected CPUs by two years, and they have provided updated code that manufacturers are releasing in BIOS updates. I'm not afraid to do those updates, and you should not fear doing those, as many motherboards today have mechanisms for recovering from a botched update. BIOS updates should be a regular part of maintaining a computer, especially if you build it yourself. There's always more new CPUs coming out, so investigate what is coming and find something that you can get behind. If you need a new computer, don't be afraid to move ahead.
@@NerdSidekick Thank you for your detailed answer. You are right that if you build your own computer, you should also be able to update the BIOS as part of a maintenance process. And yes, I think I will need a new computer in the near future because the PC I want to replace is now 11 1/2 years old. So there is a chance that the end is slowly coming into sight. So I think I'll wait a little longer to see what Intel is going to do next to really fix the problems. Also, the PC I want to replace has an Intel i7 processor and has never let me down in all these years. So it's also a reason to think about Intel. Thank you again for your answer and the opportunity to build my first PC with the help of a perfect great instruction and learning video from your hand.
Hmm I know that this maybe come as a surprice for you?! But the i7 and i9:s are not the best pick to build a new PC on right now. Youve heard the news on Intels failing last two skues? Awesum video and well executed, mate.
They did just announce that they believe they isolated the cause, and that it can be fixed with software updates. That will probably require BIOS updates from the various motherboard manufacturers.
@@NerdSidekick Theres a broader spectrum of foulty CPU and that is corrosion in the die, and thats not going to be solved by BIOS-upgrades I´m sorry to say. So If I wher a new PC buyer I would not be touching Inte higher skus right now, That´s my 2 cents.
An excellent tutorial! This will be my first full build. I'm retired and on a budget so to be able to purchase the items separately as funding allows is very helpful. My computer is 13 years old and it takes literally days to edit a 25 min. GoPro 12 video. The case, power supply, extra fan, CPU cooler (ARCTIC Freezer 34), Multi-Function Screwdriver Tool Set:, and miscellaneous cables arrived today :) I have one question though. I noticed that Amazon has the Intel® Core™ i7-14700K for the exact same price as the i7-137400K. Is there any advantage to one over the other? Regards, Kevin PS: Thank you so much again.
Glad the video helped you. Good luck with your build! The 14700k is slightly faster than the 13700k. You can compare CPUs with a site like this: cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-14700K-vs-Intel-Core-i7-13700K/4152vs4137 Pricing is always changing, and there can be multiple suppliers on Amazon who can price products however they see fit. It's possible there is some "dumping" going on since these chips had problems.
I haven't seen a real video guide like this in 10 years, nice going. I noticed you were using a large usb stick. Many motherboards will only accept a usb with FAT 32 formatting, your 256 GB was not likely formatted in FAT 32.
Thanks for the kind words! The USB drive was NTFS from the factory and that's what I used for the BIOS update. But then the Media Creation Tool that Microsoft provides for installing Windows re-formats the drive as FAT32, with a 32 GB partition. I'll be releasing a video on how to fix that soon.
@@NerdSidekick Very much appreciated for your dedication to helping people like me , BTW , i am 78 years old and i have just assembled my own PC successfully thanks to your tutorial !!! You are a perfect teacher .
You should have mentioned the Lazy Susan in your list of helpful tools. It makes working on opposite sides of the case so much easier. No more lifting, I just spin it around.
Good point. It's not something I normally use when building a computer. I used it to make showing different parts of the computer easier in the video, but it could definitely help make building a computer easier if you use a lazy Susan.
Thank you!
Glad you found the video helpful! Hope you build a new computer soon!
Sir I just wanted to thank you for probably the most comprehensive how-to video I've ever seen on building computers. I build my own computers since 1995 and seen many videos but yours is on a whole different level so you have my respect and gratitude and God bless you because your guide is a master class guide.
Thank you for your kind words!
This is incredible. Best how to video for true beginners. If you never have built a pc (like myself) this will definitely give you what you need.
Thank you!
pc was dying decided its time to upgrade.
Glad the video was helpful, and thanks for sharing it!
@@NerdSidekick Keep up the good work!
Nerd you've really outdone yourself! Excellent work! :)
Thank you!
Thanks for making this video! Using this to study for my CompTIA A+ exam
You're welcome! I hope the video helps you on your exam!
Thank you! Hopefully it helped make the process easy to understand and follow.
thanks man. all the other videos were a bit hyper for me, it threw me off because I am intimidated by building a PC and the last thing i wanted was someone in my face shouting with LED lights everywhere. This video went at the pace I am willing to work at. Cheers
Happy to hear it was right for you!
Such a underrated video actual proper PC build, thought I would see Carey in the comments. Excellent video well worth full watch and subscribe
Thank you!
I've just successfully completed my very first build. Your video was invaluable. ❤
Love to hear about successes! Congratulations!
Man..this is the most informative and interesting PC build video on youtube. I am lacking confidence in buliding my own PC even after watching so many videos but after watching your step by step guide on PC build I can sure I can build it without any problem. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.
It's heartwarming to hear! Glad to help.
clear and clean instructions even a rookie can understand and do it easily
I just saw this video in my recommended youtube home page, I haven't built a computer in about 10 years so this is a really great video. Thank you for taking the time to go slow, teach and explain things. I plan on building a Micro-ATX PC this coming December. Subscribed to you. :)
Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Thanks for your feedback. I wanted to make a video that made it very clear how to do the various steps.
This is one of the most comprehensive Videos on a computer build. The video editing too is superb. Very calm and I can spend hours listening to you. I will give you 20 out of 10 for not including pesky, distracting and irritating music. Cheers!!!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
one of the best instructional videos i have ever seen. i had zero questions when you were done. the explanation and camera work is first class. thank you for your time that you invested in the video. cheers
That's great to hear! "No further questions, your honor."
Your channel is a true gem. Thank you so much i watched the whole thing, im not a tech beginner but i just used this to get my memory refreshed on the whole process, best video ever made on PC building. Love the channel, the style and the charisma. Keep it up!
Thank you!
Fantastic video. Well done that man. From someone who started his career upgrading IBM PS2 5.25 drives to 3.5, and eventually hard drives!
Quite the journey you've had! The parts keep getting smaller and faster. Thanks for watching!
Looks like I need to make a video showing how to add some RGB fans.
This is a great video. I have experience in the past servicing and building various electronic devices, but never built my own computer, but looking to upgrade to a gaming computer, and your tutorial explains a lot. Thanks
Planning to build my PC and found the perfect video.
Thank you very much
Glad I could help!
Glad you found the video helpful!
Thank you for helping me build my first computer! This guide was exactly what I needed
Glad you found it helpful!
Glad it was helpful and hope it continues to make your future builds easier!
THE BEST PC BUILDING GUIDE I HAVE EVER FOUND ON ANYWHERE 😊
Thanks for that!
Tonight i’ll start with my first build. Thank you for this outstanding video. You make it so clear and easy to follow. 🙌🏼🙏🏼
Very, Very, VERY good video! divided by topics... a real classroom for beginners... THANK YOU!
Glad it was helpful!
OMG ❤️ thank you sir, finally someone takes their time
Thank you man, I will now proceed and build my own pc instead of paying others to do it for me! GREAT VID AND I SUSBSCRIBED!
Glad I could help! Hope you post again once you finish!
Love to hear this! Congrats!
Hey man, thanks for the tutorial. It was definitely stressful, building my first pc, but you helped me out a lot. Now of course, I had to use different videos and sources for some parts, but it all worked out in the end. Now I just need to install the GOU (on the 9th November because it arrived late).
Glad I could help!
Excelente vídeo educational i am now 61 i have bean building computeres as a hobby since 1987 i find it relaxing i have instaled diferente OS .. i have subscribed wish you well
Thank you! This guide got me through my first build. I also learned quite a lot from the video and the building process!
Glad I could help!
I just want to say THANK YOU for all that you have taught me. I have nothing but the utmost respect for you sir.
great video but I did have that exact same case (older version with 2 140mm front fans), and on the back, you removed that one large panel for cable management.
The fan hub is shown in the instructions as an options that comes with the "Performance Version" of the case, but is not included with this version.
This is a super well-organized and detailed instruction video! Thanks very much!
Great video. Building a pc seems easy, but all the bios and stuff after always put me off of it. This video did a great job of covering that stuff.
Was looking for a video like this for a while, thanks much
Best video of its kind on UA-cam
Appreciate that!
This is the best and informative build guide I have ever watched
Thank you!
I just wanted to say that I liked and subscribed to your channel. Sincere thanks.
Great video - Nicely presented , very clear and easy to follow along with. :)
Thank you so much, can't wait to start building my first pc. Also love your floating lamp-bulp in the back ground!
Hope your build goes well! I love that floating bulb. It never stops.
@@NerdSidekick It's not a fix; barely a band-aid. Also chips already effected are basically guaranteed to die as the damage is already done.
@@NerdSidekick Theres a broader spectrum of foulty CPU and that is corrosion in the die, and thats not going to be solved by BIOS-upgrades I´m sorry to say. So If I wher a new PC buyer I would not be touching Inte higher skus right now, That´s my 2 cents.
it was so chill, informative and peaceful watching this, plz keep doing what you do
PC Pawpaw! Love it! Thank you for this! Subscribed!
Excellent video! Well thought out and produced. Thank you.
Much appreciated!
Regards,
Kevin
PS: Thank you so much again.
Glad the video helped you. Good luck with your build!
The 14700k is slightly faster than the 13700k. You can compare CPUs with a site like this: cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-14700K-vs-Intel-Core-i7-13700K/4152vs4137
Pricing is always changing, and there can be multiple suppliers on Amazon who can price products however they see fit. It's possible there is some "dumping" going on since these chips had problems.
Advantage than just drill a hole in the buffertube and route a gripline that way? Frac takes the option to use a slingplate for singlepoint sling
Built my first pc today thank so much for the help 😢❤
That's fantastic! I'm so glad this video helped.
Amazing video. Thank you so much for this blessing. Best instructional pc build video available. Thank you, sir!

this video came up in my suggestions and I found it interesting since the creator used the same MB, memory and NVME that I did for my recent upgrade.

Thanks! That means a lot!
you are a savior sir! lots of love
Wow, this is leagues better than the LTT video. This is actually comprehensible!
Wow! LTT is hard to beat! Thanks for your kind words!
Here's a link to the one I show in the video (affiliate link): amzn.to/3LVHJBz
Great video mate well explained part by part and the OS, BTW Windows 7 greatest operating system of all time speaking of back in the day.
This is such a good video! It’s sad to see you stoped uploading
