watched this lesson a few months ago and this past weekend was in guitar center with my daughter looking and just enjoying ourselves. Picked up a nice fender on display plugged in and started playing next thing we know a guy over in the bass section joins in and then we hear drums from across the store... needless to say it was Fkin EPIC....MUSIC THE UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE.... .
"Marty! I think I love you! Two weeks ago, I bought my first electric guitar, and now I can play my favorite song from the Foo Fighters. Still a bit shaky, but still totally okay. You're the best! Greetings from Sweden."
Thanks for posting this. I'm left handed, but learned guitar right handed. I wanted to learn this song for my uncle who served in Vietnam and now I can!
Hey, my names Marty, I do one on one lessons to 3 million people! Thank you so much for all of your videos man. I wouldn't know half of the stuff I know if it wasn't for you man! Appreciate it so much!! Blows my mind how much I appreciate appreciate and at how many others must feel the same way! Thank you from all of us!
I dont why but you're the only guy that manages to make my poor brain achieve what I want with these songs. straight to the point, but with all the subtleties. Please never stop teaching songs : )
Great lesson once again, Marty. This new channel of yours has been my go-to place on UA-cam lately, new lessons are cool and the remakes of older ones too. I am expecting that Porch lesson that was shown a bit in your Instagram channel :D More PJ and Foo's please :)
Thanks for putting this out, Marty! I'm seriously getting back into playing guitar regularly for the first time in probably 15 years. I have stopped trying to play overly complex things outside of my abilities, and have instead decided to focus on playing simpler songs and getting back to theory. This is the first complete song I've learned in ages, it feels great to accomplish this in only a few days with your awesome breakdown!
Hi Marty, big fan! Just figured I’d give you some feedback(no pun intended) on this one. In the chorus it’s much easier to run through those octaves on the A G strings. Like 6-7-9 on the A and the octaves on the G. I feel like it’s much easier to play it that way and looking at videos that appears to be how Dave is playing it as well.
I've been playing the chorus wrong for years on this song. Thanks for the lesson. Much better now. Your new channel is awesome. More lessons on SRV or Hendrix please.
You rock mate. Always wanted to learn the guitar and I stumbled upon you showing how to play my fav song, I'm hooked now. Hopefully one day I can pass on the skills and techniques you have shown.. thank you so much Marty. Keep the awesome vids coming.
Hey marty thanks gor the continued videos. Ive learnt a lot from watching your videos over years from the start of guitar jams. I dont think i would of nailed half these songs if it was for you, puts a whole new perspective on it being taught rather than just reading tabs. Ive always been self taught and never took any proper lessons myself. So yeah thanks!
Hi, Marty, just wanted to thank you for your lessons, i have been playing guitar for a week and i can see some real progress... you make it easy and fun for me to learn... keep doing such a great job!
Awesome man! I got the progression down in about 30 mins! Now I just have to work on timing. And rhythm. And hitting the right strings. And muting the wrong strings. But at least I have the progression down!
Ive learned so many song with you bro. Thanks a Ton . Ill never make any money in a band . But It's defiantly not boring when ever I go and there is someone Paying .
Love the juicy stuff Marty, one great lesson after another. Please sir, do a review of that beautiful guitar. You have got me addicted, I am a Guitaraholic , there is no cure.
I was listening to this song in the afternoon earlier today and was thinking to play and learn this song, I about to do it myself and then I got a notification from the channel it said learn to play my hero foo fighters, it's like a major coincidence!

hey man just want to say thank you for the lesson i play alot of songs and the days of learning by ear are over sooo.... thank you for making it sooooooo f en easy to learn kool songs
Marty - this would have to be the most complete example of how to play... If there were to be a benchmark on how to do a tutorial to millions of people on how to achieve your goals on playing, this is it.
I saw the video of Dave Grohl talking about guitars and drums also. makes sense with his great music. and thanks for opening up Foo fighters catalog, these are fun!

DAT GUY that's sweet(; and cool song to be playin and have that happen like that
DAT GUY I tried that in guitar center playing Nirvana Scentless Apprentice and no one joined in😕 but that's probably because it was like 7:30 pm 😂
Brad Vella why wouldn't anybody join in because it was 7:30pm? Did you mean am or something?
all you have to do is play lithium by nirvana in gak and people join in
DAT GUY That's what happens to me when I start on guitar playing love shack by the b52s.Everyone joins in.
