When I was playing in a rock band in high school, inevitably something would go wrong at a gig and there'd be a short break while someone was fixing something. That's when I'd pull out the mario theme and give the audience a laugh

    Fun fact:
The first version of "twinkle twinkle little star" is found in an Italian lute manuscript from 1517 by Vincenzo Capirola.
The title is Tientalora, the Melody is more ornamented following renaissance's taste.

I enjoy playing Broken by Seether as there's some nice fingerstyle on D chord in the end of each phrase in verse. And Late Goodbye by Poets of the Fall has sweet chromatic down movement in intro. But recently I started playing some folk rock in Russian (doubt anyone from non-Russian speaking countries knows the band) and I've noticed some constant songwriting techniques giving the band its unique sound: major IV chord in minor while building up tention, constant using of VI-VII-I and I-VI-VII-III-VII-VI-VII-I progressions in choruses and 1 tone or sometimes 2.5 tones modulation in culmination. Finding patterns is fun.

Throughout the last 2 years, I've learned the rhythm accompaniments of about 30-40 songs of a single artist group I like, from the tabs of a channel.
